Don't Know What to Call This

Previously...

I wake up with a start, and immediately, I bring a shaking hand to my face, catching the tears that have started to fall.

And now I remember. It's only a little bit, but it's a start.

The name of that little girl was Kija.

"Why am I the one that gets left on the ship?"

An irk mark started to form on Law's forehead as he listened to his only female crewmate. "Because," he replied through gritted teeth, "we need someone to protect the ship while the rest of us get supplies. You are staying with Yuusha and Miss Koyuki. Final."

Grumbling, Kija disappears below deck, slamming the door closed on her way down. Koyuki smiles and waves at them, to which Shachi and Penguin happily respond to with a blush and a wave in return.

Turning around, Law starts to follow his crew as they jump off the ship and into the shore, but before he can, Koyuki stops him, leaning forward to grasp his arm. He jerks it away, but turns around nevertheless, staring at her. "I suppose this is about the question you want to ask." It wasn't a question, really. More like a statement.

"Before I answer your question, I want a question of my own answered," he continues. "It was technically a draw a week and a day ago."

Koyuki stares back, nodding at him.

"Where do we go to get Ar- Kija's memories back?"

The ice woman stiffens, drawing back, but this time, it's Law that catches her arm, staring her down. "I know that you know. Tell me."

"My question first, Surgeon," she answers coldly. "What are you planning to do with her?"

Slyly, Law inclines his head, feigning ignorance. "Whatever do you mean, Miss Koyuki? I'm not planning to do anything."

"Don't play innocent with me, you bastard. This is about that Royal Shichibukai, isn't it? You still haven't forgiven him for Corazon, have you?"

Law narrows his eyes. "And how would you know about that?"

"I have my sources."

The pirate captain scoffs, crossing his arms. "Like I said, I'm not planning anything. For now, at least."

She leans in, speaking softly but menacingly in a firm tone. "I won't let you hurt my best friend."

"I'm terribly sorry, but you must have missed the part of our conversation where we discussed that Kija doesn't even remember you, Miss Koyuki."

Koyuki winces, hurt flashing through her eyes before she straightens, turning her back, and answers in a voice that could freeze over hell itself,"Imotori Island. I wish you luck on your mission for revenge."

Wings made of ice sprout from her back and she flies away, leaving Law alone to catch up with his crew.

Kija's P.O.V.

As I slam the door shut, everything falls into silence.

It's quiet, almost too quiet if you ask me, but then again, practically no one is left on the ship except for Yuusha, who needs to do some repairs.

I walk down the hallway, turning right, then left, to get to my room. Once inside, I flop down on the bed, resting a hand on my stomach and another above my head as I stare at the ceiling the same way I do every night I wake up to the same nightmare.

So I started to think of the nightmare-that-could-be-a-memory.

I lay there for a long time until someone knocked on the door before opening it. I rolled over to check who it was, and when I saw that it was Yuusha, I slowly sat up and stretched.

"Ara- I mean, Kija, Captain just called and told us to get the ship ready to sail. He said that we probably have five minutes. I need some help."

I was already walking to the door and following him down the hall.

"Why?"

"He said he's being chased."

"By who?"

"That part he didn't say."

"Wonderful," I mutter. We stop at the engine room where Yuusha starts to pull on levers and fiddle with machines before directing me to the control room to start the engines.

I do what he says, and once the hum of the submarine starts, I go outside on deck to wait.

It doesn't take long. Shachi and Penguin are running behind Law, Marines close behind.

"Miss Kija! Hurry up, create an illusion to hide us, or we're not setting sail!"

Mentally, I groan. I've barely mastered this, and he expects me to hide the submarine, everyone on it, and the crew below?

But he's my captain, so I comply, promising myself to yell at him over this later. First, Law and the crew become invisible to the eyes of the Marines. I can still see him coming though, since the illusion only covers the side the Marines see.

He brings his 'room' up, teleporting himself and everyone else up on to the deck as I struggle to hide it.

The Marines are running closer and closer, and I can see they number by the hundreds. It's too many to take on right now.

I'm almost done, just a little more time...

100 feet....

75...

50...

25...

"Yes!" I pump my fist in the air, having successfully hidden the submarine, as the confused Marines halt, shouting and shooting off into empty space.

They stay there for a while staring at the air where the submarine used to be before one takes out a snail phone and makes a call. He shouts something out afterwards and they all turn and trudge away.

That is, until one trip, falls backwards, and his hand leans against the side of the submarine.

Shit.

But then the submarine starts to move, lurching away and leaving the marine to fall back to the ground.

"Miss Kija, get inside."

I turn to face Law, a scowl at the edge of my lips.

"I told you to leave out the 'Miss,' didn't I?"

Before he can say anything, I interrupt and add,"Besides, I think we got past the part where we were just acquaintances by now, don't you think?"

He chuckles, tilting his head and asking,"Was that an order, Kija?"

I smile at him as we walk inside, answering,"Not at all, Law. It was a suggestion from a friend."

And then I elbow him in the gut, shouting,"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO GET THAT MANY MARINES?"

He doubles over, but he starts to clutch his stomach, laughing, before he replies, still wheezing for breath,"A-an ac-ccident, Kij-Kija..."

Even though I was the one who caused this in the first place, I helped him up and waited for him to regain his composure.

"Captain?" Bepo is standing outside a doorway, looking at the two of us in the hall. "Where to next?"

Law gives us a smirk, announcing,"To the next island, Dareha City."

I finally got off my lazy ass and decided to finish this chapter. I'm sorry it's so short...

So what do you guys think is going to happen at the next island? :3

Wait, I'll let you vote on this matter.

A sweet scene between Law and Kija ( I hope you all caught the one in here ), an action scene between Kija and someone else, or the meeting of another canon character?

On the other hand, I'm looking for someone who's an amazing cover maker to make a cover on my other fanfiction, Standing At Death's Door. It'd be much appreciated if someone could make one for me or point me to an amazing cover maker.

Thanks,
-Otakusnation =^~^=

P.S: One Piece High School? Yay or Nay?
