Days On The Submarine (Part One)

Author's Note:
I've read through the past four chapters, and I think I've rushed things a little. So here's a filler of sorts about what happened a week before the first island of the Grand Line.

Law's P.O.V.

I don't care if I die trying to get what I want. Eleven years of waiting has already been long enough.

Ara is defiant, stubborn, and could try to slit my throat at any time.

Yes, she could be considered beautiful, but women don't interest me. Staying alive is more in my best interests. Taking down Doflamingo even more so.

Shachi opened the door to the infirmary, where I was currently working, with Bepo and Penguin behind him. They're speaking in hushed whispers, and it's annoying because I can't hear a word they're saying.

"Can I help you?" I ask, and I can hear the irritation in my tone.

They all snap into a quick salute, and yell out,"Ara-chan is waiting on deck like you ordered and asked us to inform you of that!"

Sighing, I lead them back up on deck to meet with our new crew member. My new subordinate. My new responsibility.

Her back is to us, raven hair tossing around in the persistent wind. I join her at the railing, and tilt her chin with one of my fingers so that she's looking at me with her clear, blue eyes.

Irritation dances across her expression, and it sparks my own annoyance as well.

"Well? Why'd you call me up here, Law?"

I smile in anticipation.

"I think it's about time that I tested out your fighting abilities, so I'm going to put you up against Bepo for a mock fight."

Her smile now matches mine. "Looking forward to it," she replies, grinning.

Ara's P.O.V

Bepo bows to me, muttering, "Sorry..."

I sweat drop. "What are you sorry for?"

"Sorry..."

"STOP APOLOGIZING!" Half of the crew yells this.

Shachi brings his hand down and shouts,"Begin!"

Bepo leaps forward, aiming a kick to my side. Retreating back, I avoid the blow and then sweep upwards with my own kick in retaliation. He blocks it and tosses a punch at my face. I duck, dodging him, and land my own punch in his side now that his guard is down.

Bepo staggers back a few steps to catch his breath and I stand, rooted at my spot, doing the same. This time, I'm the one who attacks first, bringing my foot up in an arc at his face, and when he dodges, I jump up and knee him in the gut.

But then he lands a punch to my side after the first attempt and I skid back a few feet, wincing. I'm distracted long enough that Bepo has enough time to run forward, a kick going straight for my neck. He stops a fraction away from it before lowering his leg and backing away.

The rest of Law's watching crew starts catcalling and cheering for both Bepo and I to keep fighting, but I turn to my captain, a silent question in my gaze that he catches.

"Alright, Miss Ara," he says, his trademark smirk painted over his face. "I think I can tell your hand-to-hand combat abilities by now."

Groans start to emanate from the rest of the crew as they sense that the fight is already over.

"Captain....," they whine. "Can't they continue?"

Law, being the Law that he is, sends everyone a 'death glare', and they start to disperse, still grumbling, back to their stations. Bepo is the last one inside, shutting the door softly.

"Miss Ara, stay on deck with me. I want to test the full capabilities of your Devil Fruit powers without any prior training."

I don't argue. Why bother, after all? With his abilities, he could teleport me to him at anytime.

"...."

It's silent up on deck. He leans against the railing lazily, without a care in the world.

"So...." I say, breaking the silence. "What do I do?"

"Make yourself invisible. I want to test something out."

I pause.

"Yeah, uh, about that... I don't know how."

He sighs in exasperation, becoming more and more impatient by the second.

"Just concentrate on it. Envision what you want to happen. Use your creativity."

"Thanks, that really clears things up," I say, scowling.

He doesn't appear fazed, however, and replies,"Glad that I could be of help. Now get on with it."

Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I think about the time when I first met my crazy, psychotic, bloodthirsty, deranged, and highly possessive captain. I thought about the feeling I got whenever I manage to successfully steal something valuable, blending into the shadows before I can be caught, and the small thrill that had passes through my heart every time.

I think, I wish, and now, I'm invisible.

I know I'm invisible because he smiles and his blue dome comes up. His 'room'. A mirror appears in his hands, and he turns with his back to me, holding up the mirror so that I can see my reflection.

Wait. I can see myself in the mirror. I'm not invisible anymore.

Law turns back around, his smile now self satisfied. "I thought so. Your illusions can't be seen in a mirror."

"That's what you made me stay for?" I demand. I'm honestly a little pissed right now. I may sound like a little brat, but it's cold outside, and I don't want to stay. "You wanted to test if I can be seen in a mirror?"

He smiles viciously, and the look in his eyes makes me cringe. "I wanted to test if your illusions can be seen through by a camera, but it's a win either way. Since you ate the Illusion Fruit, you can create an illusion that can do some spying for us, correct?"

Hesitantly, I nod, even though I know that wherever this is going, I'm not going to like it.

"Perfect. We're going to need you to spy on Marine HQ. Your illusions can't be seen by their snail-cameras, and they can become invisible at your will."

"Why do you need me to spy on them? What are you after, Law?" I ask, suspicious.

"I'm going to steal every file on Donquixote Doflamingo. Every weakness, his past, everything."

HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING MINNA!
Here's another finished chapter, and in case anyone's wondering, no, they do not break into Navy HQ in seven days. It's actually kind of impossible to do that since they're not even close to Saboady yet. These seven days will instead be filled with training, fluffy moments, and other things... Hehehe.

I hope you readers enjoyed this chapter, although I think it's a little short. Also, I've had an idea for a plot twist, and but this is a perfectly innocent question:

Ace or Law?

Tell me in the comments.
