Chapter 5
The rays of the sun that where falling upon his face made him shine almost like the attractive face displayed on the white paper on the sketchbook of your best friend.
It was overwhelming, his presence. Like you were meeting up close an imaginary character of some kind of novel.
You and your friend had talked about that sketch for hours they day she had presented it to you. And she would always bring him up whenever she wanted to compare a man to beauty.
She had called him merman, cause she had seen him at a beach house while she was on vacation. However she had never met him again and so he became like a mythical creature, beautiful but unreal.
"Do i have something on my face?" Jimin asked, now feeling a little awkward under your stare that you hadn't noticed that you were actually doing.
"Oh no. Sorry." You responded, clearing your throat after in awkwardness before turning your eyes at your husband that was sitting next to you.
"How did you said that you two met, dear?" You asked him, using an endearing word that surprised even you cause you had never called him in such ways. Only by his name.
"Jimin here is my life savior. I would have died in a car accident years ago if it wasn't for him." TaeYong responded calmly, his tone of voice same as always. Well thought. Plain. However a smile was dancing on his lips. A smile of excitement.
"You are giving me to much credit, a barely did what everyone would do if he was to see someone in danger." Jimin spoke, his words so humble that somehow made you look his way and meet his eyes.
He smiled catching your gaze before he dropped his eyes on the floor and back to TaeYong. His gaze so playful that somehow made you tense.
" See Y/N, he is like this all the time. Only the wings are missing from this man." TaeYong comments, both him and Jimin leaving a small laughter after his words. Somehow your ears could only hear the sound of his laugh. It struck out in a way you couldn't really explain.
" Well I should thank you for saving my husband's life then. "You told him, gulping down your saliva with difficulty as you didn't meant your words, they were said out of politeness. Like so many more words you had to say every day.
Fake. Hypocritical.
Jimin waved his hand in denial as he bowed his head politely to you and you forced a smile in your lips, now wanting to not stay there anymore. But you couldn't leave either.
"Y/N, Jimin here didn't come coincidentally today. He will be working with me from now on." TaeYong's words caught your interest for a moment making you face him.
"He is going to get into politics?" You asked your eyes averting to Jimin's figure that stayed quiet.
"No, he is going to work here in our house. That's why I wanted to introduce you to him." He responded getting up from his seat beside you and heading towards Jimin, he too getting up standing next to him.
"He is going to be your companion and butler from today on. Whatever you need, he can get it for you." He added, his arm wrapping itself around Jimin's shoulders while you stayed quiet, out of words.
Why did you exactly needed a butler? The house was full of maids, and you had a personal driver that could get you anywhere you wanted to go. You find his presence useless but you didn't want to be rude and say that to his face.
"Excuse me. Can we talk for a moment. Privately." You said, looking coldly at your husband while you got up and headed towards the door, without waiting for his response.
Taeyong told Jimin to wait for him there for a moment before he came after you, once behind the door facing you with an innocent looking gaze.
"Excuse me but i don't think i have a need for a butler nor any company." You told him, getting immediate to the point.
He smiled. His hands raising soon and resting on your shoulders.
"I know that but he is a very proud guy and doesn't accept help easily. Since i own him i want to pay him back but he has never accepted anything. Now he is in a difficult state so i am offering him this job. Please help me out a bit, would you?" His eyes looked at you, pleading, an expression you had never seen in his face.
It got you by surprise. He looked like a human being for that moment. He looked something you hadn't seen him displaying for anyone yet. He looked, sincere.
" Well if it's like that... I don't know.. I might make an exception." You agreed, feeling a little sympathy for that guy that you didn't really knew well.
But what would it cost you anyway. Someone else was going to pay him and you would win someone staying behind you, carrying your shopping bags. It wasn't that bad.
" Thank you Y/N." He smiled, once more getting you by surprise, as that smile didn't seem forced like the others that he had showed you till today.
"I am gonna go tell him to pack his stuff and move over by tomorrow." He murmured as he turned around and entered the living room again, heading towards Jimin that was still waiting at the couch.
You glanced at him once more before turning around and going upstairs, at your painting room.
You closed the door and sat again on the floor, going back to staring at the white canvas.
Your fingers grabbed the brush hesitantly, dripping it's tip on the black ink bucket. "Today.. I saw through your eyes."
You wrote on the canvas then you smiled, as if you had created something magical, as though you had made... A masterpiece.
---meanwhile ---
SooLin rushed to open up the door as the bell had rung up to two times already. Her kids, running around the house while her father was watching a drama on Tv.
"Hello." The deep voice of the man that came at her sight once she opened up the door for him, greeted her, a smile reaching at her lips after seeing him.
"Kids, uncle Namjoon came to visit!" She shouted past her shoulder before meeting his eyes again and welcoming him inside.
Namjoon dropped the bags he was holding on the floor as he himself got on his knees, welcoming the youngsters into his embrace.
"Uncle Joonie~~what took you so long to come see us?!" Yuna wined, still in his embrace making him giggle.
"Yah, he is a working man. Men are responsible for many things. Stop pressuring him!" SuJae nagged to his sister, making the sight even more adorable than it already was at the eyes of Namjoon, whom had a soft spot for these two children.
"Let uncle get up now, okay. He can't stay at his knees forever." SooLin took her kids away, mouthing an apology to him, but he just smiled wider, cause he didn't mind.
"I brought some stuff. Including a bottle of soju for Mr Park." At the end of his words that he deliberately said lauder, the voice of the old man giving him a blessing was heard from the living room making SooLin as well as him smile.
Namjoon entered the living room, the kids having grabbed themselves in each leg of his, making him walk more slowly and carefully while he couldn't stop laughing.
They were adorable and they loved him a lot.
"Ah, you really are the best Namjoon-ah. I wish you were my son." Jimin's dad told him as he adjusted his wheel chair to face him.
Namjoon laughed and bowed respectfully to the elder, greeting him properly and then giving him a hug, as his open arms indicated for him to do.
" Jimin is not that bad uncle. "He responded, making the old man roll his eyes, not willing to give any compliments to his son even when he wasn't present.
" Yeah, uncle Jimin is not bad. He is just weird in the mornings "Yuna interrupted making namjoon throw his gaze to the little girl with the twin ponytails.
" Why do you think that, Yuna dear? "He asked her and the little girl came nearer to him as if she was about to let him in a top secret.
" When he wakes up he always hits himself while passing by the door and he then yells at the door. What did the door do wrong uncle. It didn't moved at all!!" The girl innocently said, making both her grandpa and Namjoon to burst out laughing, imagining the sight clearly in his head.
I should definitely record him someday.
Namjoon had thought for a moment, wanting to put that at his collection of the embarrassing moments of his childhood friend.
---Time skip---
Jimin got out of the car that dropped him at the club where his shift was about to start. He could already hear the music, even though he was standing a good distance from the entrance.
He payed the taxi and observed it as it took of, before throwing a look at his surroundings and stepping into the entrance of a dark alley, to make a quick call before he goes to work.
He waited in line patiently, his head resting on the dirty wall, his pink hair styled upwards bringing his forehead into perfect view and dark suit that combined perfectly with his white shirt with black prints on it, were making him look like he wasn't suited for such a place.
He didn't really liked much dressing fancy but he definitely liked one thing that was on him right that moment and that was the piece of fabric that was the same as his shirt, that was hugging his neck, protecting him from the cold of the night.
He lowered his phone from his ear as his hyung didn't seem to answer his call, and was met with his reflection on his phone's black screen.
I have to dye my hair again. The color has faded to much.
He thought to himself, making a mental note to take care of it tomorrow, as he swapped the screen and called his hyung again.
"You finally picked up." He said once he heard Namjoon's voice greeting him from the other line.
"Sorry, i just got out of your house and i had forgotten my phone at the car." Namjoon told him, roaming around his car with some stuff, the noise he was making reaching to Jimin's ears.
"Just don't break anything." He joked and Namjoon smiled even though he couldn't see it.
"So, what did you called me about?" Namjoon's voice reached his ears, making his smile that had been created from the small teasing of his hyung a moment ago, disappear.
"I had a favor to ask." Silence fell after his words as he knew well he wasn't supposed to be asking anything of him, cause he had promised to him to not get him involved in anything.
"It's for good. I swear." He added, assuming what his older friend might be thinking.
"I am listening."
"I want you to look up someone for me. I need to know her background." Namjoon kept silent again after hearing his words, thinking if he was making him an accomplice in something he wouldn't like.
But he trusted Jimin and they had talked once about this. He had cleared his position and he wouldn't hesitate to do his job, if he was ever to caught him doing anything illegal.
"Name." He told him after he gave his request a little thought and waited for him to answer.
"Lee Y/N." The name echoed in his ears, soon bringing to memory a face.
"You mean the wife of -" He blurred out, soon stopping himself and throwing his eyes around.
"Yeah, that one." Jimin paused for a moment, him too throwing an eye at his surroundings carefully.
"The wife of my new boss."
