T.W. Mentions of an argument and a sad Logan and Virgil (momentarily, nothing really bad.)
Virgil smiled as Deceit's arm draped around his waist, pulling him closer. Their day thus far had been uneventful. Roman, Patton, and Logan had been busy and doing who knows what, meaning it was just the two of them for the majority of the time. Minus lunch, when Patton came down and made them all a wonderful lunch.
They hadn't seen Logan and Roman all day, but it wasn't surprising considering the argument from the night before. Logan and Roman had really gone at one another, leaving an overly emotional Patton who was trying to appease both sides, an extremely anxious Virgil, who was struggling to breathe and had sunk out halfway through, and a very confused Deceit, they hadn't meant to upset either of their boyfriends, yet somehow, it happened.
The argument wasn't even important, looking back on it, neither Deceit nor Virgil could remember what it was about. They were stood with Thomas, and as soon as Virgil had calmed down, Deceit by his side, the shouting had picked up in the mind, making Virgil close to panicking again.
"How are you, kotenok?" (Kitten) Deceit ran their fingers through Virgil's hair, smiling at the small smile and rather prominent blush that broke through at the pet name.
"I'm worried about them... I want my boyfriends back. I want to cuddle them, and... And just... Have a movie night, forget everything that happened yesterday." He sighed, burying his face in his datemate's chest, trying to fight back the tears that were threatening to surface.
"I know, it's not like I miss them or anything..." Deceit smiled down at their boyfriend, tilting his head up so their gazes met. "Things can't get any worse though."
"How do you know? How do we know they aren't going at one another right now, or that they don't hate one another? What if they somehow dragged Patton into it, and Patton's upset?" Virgil's eyes widened and Deceit held him close, trying to keep him calm without overwhelming him too much.
"Virge?" Patton's voice filtered into the room, causing Virgil to look around, a small smile on his face. Tears were still nestled in the corners of his eyes, but it was clear to both of his romantic partners, that seeing Patton lifted his mood slightly.
"Are they okay?" Virgil rushed to Patton, pulling him in for a hug, burying his face in Patton's shoulder. He was beyond worried about his boyfriends, and he didn't know what he was supposed to do to help.
"Logan refuses to talk to me, something about if he does then I'll take the idiot Prince's side. Roman wants to talk to Logan, but can't bring himself to leave his room or say anything other than how sorry he is to me."
"Can I... Talk to him?" Virgil mumbled, moving his hands to play with the cardigan around Patton's shoulders.
"If you think you're okay to, I don't see why you shouldn't." Patton smiled fondly, shifting his glance to Deceit's, who nodded.
"Do you need someone to go with you?" They spoke up, smiling softly as Virgil turned to them.
"I think I'm okay to go alone." He nodded, smiling weakly. He walked back to Deceit and paused before he connected their lips. "Can I?"
Deceit replied by connecting their lips, pulling their boyfriend onto their lap. Virgil had no complaints at that, wrapping his arms around their shoulders, humming happily.
When they pulled apart, Virgil pouted, leaning forward and reconnected their lips, not wanting to let his datemate go.
"Virge, I know you love De, but if you're going to talk to Lo, you need to do it sooner rather than later," Patton spoke, frowning when Virgil whined in response.
Deceit smiled and held Virgil for another moment, pressing a kiss to his head. "Logan needs you."
"I know. But you brought this upon yourself. You pulled me into your lap, and let me kiss you."
"So this is my fault?"
"Yep." Virgil smiled and pecked Deceit's lips before standing up and pulling Patton in for a hug, knowing if he didn't walk away, he never would.
"I love you both." Virgil smiled, hearing his partners repeat it back. "I'm going to go and make sure Lo's okay."
"I'm proud of you, Virge." Patton held onto his hand for a moment longer, smiling to him, showing how proud he truly was. He knew how rough things like this could be for him, yet he still wanted to make sure Logan and Roman were okay.
Virgil blushed and looked away, not trying to hide the smile that had formed on his face. He let go of Patton's hand and walked up the stairs, missing the way Patton grinned and jumped onto the sofa next to Deceit, cuddling into their side.
He knocked on the dark blue door, sighing as he got no response. He didn't like Logan shutting them out, much like they didn't like when he shut them out.
"Lo, please let me in... I know you're upset, I just want to make sure you're okay and maybe cuddle for a bit?" He rested his head against the door, watching as a pair of feet stopped next to him.
"Why're you wasting your time, he's not spoken to Patton all day," Roman spoke up, reaching over to take Virgil's hand in his.
"I don't think I'm wasting my time. I just... I really miss you both. I want you to come out and fix things. I want to cuddle and watch movies and cook dinner and make a mess we have to clean up and still find remnants of for a week or so after. I want us all to be happy. When two of us get into an argument, it drags everyone else down, and I just... I don't like being sad or worrying about you guys more than I normally would." He sighed, letting Roman pull him in for a hug, trying to ignore the tears filling his eyes. "Please don't make me choose between you. None of us can do that."
"Virge, hey, no one is asking you to choose." Roman cupped his face, tilting his head up so he was looking at Roman's face. "What I said was stupid, I overreacted to some extent, and I want nothing more than to apologise to Logan too, but he won't let anyone in his room, and I'm rather concerned too."
"I just want cuddles."
"Me too. I want to apologise to him, cuddle him and make sure he knows he's loved, because he is, so much. I want to make sure I don't let him down again. I know I was wrong. Well, partially wrong. My opinion wasn't wrong, but the way I went about expressing that opinion was, and he didn't deserve for me to react that way. Maybe I'm not the best boyfriend, but that doesn't mean I'm going to give up on you guys."
Virgil nodded, burying his face in Roman's shoulder as he wrapped himself around him. He took a shaky breath and looked up at Roman, who smiled fondly.
"I love you and everyone else, but you need to know that I'm sorry I hurt or upset you. I know Logan won't come out if I'm here, but I'm always here for you. Now, I have to go and apologise to Deceit and Patton, and possibly ask for Patton's help with an apology gift for Logan."
"I love you too, dork." Virgil smiled, holding onto Roman for a few minutes longer, not ready to let him go. "Before you do go, can you... Can I kiss you?"
"You know you don't have to ask."
"I know, I just like to."
"Of course you can." Roman smiled, letting Virgil press their lips together.
Roman's arms wrapped their way around Virgil's waist, holding him close, showing how much he was loved.
Virgil pulled away, smiling fondly at his boyfriend. "Now go, I need to get Logan out."
"Gee, thanks, love you too."
"Yeah, yeah, see you later." He grinned, watching Roman walk off before he turned back to the door they'd been stood outside. "Logan, please. Just open the door, I don't want to barge in, but if you don't open up, I will. I need to make sure you're okay, and I don't care how angry you get at me, I will do what I have to and probably cry later... Only if you get angry though..." He laughed humourlessly, trying to figure out what to do.
He looked up as the door cracked open, and through the small gap, he could see Logan. Logan with his puffy eyes, messy hair and wonky glasses. Not in his normal clothes but a t-shirt "borrowed" (stolen) from Patton, a hoodie given to him by Virgil, sweatpants from Roman, and slippers from Deceit. It wasn't the Logan he was used to seeing, but he wasn't complaining, it was his boyfriend, and he was happy to see him.
He pushed the door open slightly and pulled Logan into a hug, probably too tight for him to breathe, but he didn't care. He had to hug him, make sure he was okay.
He fought back a gasp when he heard Logan begin to cry. The small sobs caused him to tighten his hold and cradle the back of his head, trying to calm him down. He wasn't good at calming other people down, but he wasn't going to let his boyfriend cry alone.
"Lo, what's going on? This isn't you, the last time you cried... You'd overworked yourself and ended up crying out of pure frustration."
He heard a soft laugh and he knew he was hopefully getting somewhere.
"I felt so pathetic... You were the one to force me into bed."
"Yeah, because your stubborn self wouldn't do it voluntarily."
"Right. I had work to do, so I had every right to stay up."
"But you're my boyfriend, I wasn't going to let you damage yourself." He stepped out of the hug and cupped Logan's cheek, using his thumb to wipe away a few tears, frowning as more replaced them. "Lo?"
"I'm sorry. I don't know how to handle anything, and I was so scared I was going to lose you... All of you. I shouldn't have shouted, I'm sorry I made you anxious, I'm sorry I tore Patton in two, I'm sorry I put Deceit in a difficult position, and I'm sorry I made Roman cry. I never meant... I..." A sob broke through, and Virgil's heart broke.
"Lo, please, no..." Virgil's eyes filled with tears. "Lo, it's okay. You can't control anyone but yourself, sure your reactions trigger other's, but please don't apologise for making me anxious. It's my job. I love you and I will never leave you. Okay?"
"But I..."
"But nothing. Now, as adorable as you are, you should go and wash your face, tidy your hair, and come downstairs. We can create a cuddle pile, and we can make sure you're okay." He smiled softly and wiped a few tears from Logan's face.
"Virgil, I do appreciate you, and I am sorry for breaking down on you."
"If you apologise one more time, I will have to tickle you." He threatened a larger smile on his face.
"Please no!" Logan gasped, clearly not caring for the threat, only trying to humour his boyfriend.
"Hey, Lo?" Virgil spoke as they walked to the bathroom. When they stopped and Logan's glasses had been taken off did he finally reply.
"Yes, Virgil?"
He'd picked up Logan's glasses and proceeded to put them on his face, smiling as Logan looked in the mirror, glancing in his direction.
"I love you."
"I love you too, now may I please have my glasses, I cannot sort my hair out if I do not get them back."
Virgil smiled and took them off, admiring his boyfriend's face. "On one condition."
"What might that be?"
"Kiss me."
"With pleasure." Logan smiled, pulling Virgil close, pressing their lips together. Their kiss was short, and unlike most of the other kisses they shared with their other partners, but that didn't make it any less romantic.
"You can do better than that." Virgil smiled, still being close to Logan. Logan rolled his eyes and pulled Virgil even closer, connecting their lips. Virgil smiled, wrapping his arms around Logan's shoulders, shivering as Logan trailed his hands up and down his sides.
"Better?"
"Much." Virgil smiled, sliding Logan's glasses back onto his face.
After Logan had tidied his hair, he took Virgil's hand and let himself be led to the commons, smiling at his significant other's. He smiled as he sat on the sofa, pulling Virgil into his lap, smiling as Deceit curled up into his side.
"I did not miss you at all." They drawled, smiling as Logan pressed a kiss to their lips.
"Liar." He mumbled.
"It's not like it's my job."
Logan smiled, wrapping his free arm around them. He smiled as Patton and Roman came back to the sofa and put on a movie. Before long they'd all fallen asleep, a tangle of limbs on the sofa, but happy nonetheless.
