T.W. Smol sad bean (nothing really bad)
Virgil shuddered as tears fell down his face. They weren't slowing down and the blanket around his shoulders wasn't doing much to help. He knew they didn't mean any harm, and they had every right to be concerned about him jumping straight into a relationship, especially considering who he was and all, but he knew how he felt and he knew that he was happy. He loved him.
"Virge..." Deceit sat next to him, running a hand through his hair, trying to calm his boyfriend down. Sure they'd only been together a few months, and sure their relationship was far from perfect, but what did it matter? It's not like any of them were in a "normal" relationship.
For the past year Logan, Patton, and Roman had been in a relationship, so why was it any different for Virgil and Deceit to be in a relationship. It wasn't toxic. It wasn't harmful. They loved each other, and maybe it was too early to tell if it was love, but for them, it wasn't.
Patton voiced his concerns, only looking out for his kiddo, not wanting him to get hurt, but that didn't matter. What he said hurt and the fact that Logan and Roman agreed with him. Especially when Roman said "I love you" to Logan and Patton after two months of being together.
Virgil and Deceit had been together for the past four months, and it had taken Virgil that long to finally figure out how he wanted to tell his boyfriend that he loved him. Not to mention how much anxiety he had over the situation, to begin with.
"Whatever they said can't be worth this." Deceit sighed sadly when Virgil didn't reply. He didn't know how he was supposed to help Virgil, not when he wouldn't say anything. Normally this kind of thing only happened when they were around the others when Virgil would defend his boyfriend and they got annoyed with them.
"Patton..." Virgil mumbled, clearly struggling to find the words to speak up about what happened. "Said we can't... Too early to tell."
"To tell what, kitten?"
"Whether I love you or not."
Deceit sighed, scratching at Virgil's scalp slightly, trying to keep his adorable boyfriend calm. He hated seeing Virgil upset, and he never wanted him to feel as though their relationship wasn't going well.
"Roman and Logan agreed." He mumbled, burying his face into his pillow, trying to block out everything.
"They don't know how you feel, they don't know whether you're ready to take that step forward or not. They don't even know when you figured all that out, therefore, their opinion doesn't matter."
"Suppose so." Virgil shifted his position, reaching over to snuggle into his boyfriend's side, trying to hide in Deceit's cape.
"Amore, what are you doing?"
"Hiding. I like it."
"Maybe later, you can snuggle in it, for now, why don't we watch a movie and cuddle?"
"Sounds fun."
Virgil moved to put in a DVD and snuggled into his boyfriend's side, finding any worry he had over the situation fizzle out.
And maybe he was happy with Deceit, and even if his friends were expressing their concern, he knew all that mattered was that they were happy together and nothing could break them apart.
