[24] Loceit Au

Logan's nonbinary is correct me if I make a mistake ^_^

Logan watched their friend from across the room. They really wanted to tell him how they felt, but it was near impossible. They were convinced he wouldn't like them back. Why would he? He could have anyone he wanted, not them.

They sighed softly and turned back to their work, determined to get it done before the bell rang. They didn't need anymore homework. Not with the plans they had for the weekend.

They were going to spend the weekend with their group of friends, including the friend they had a crush on. They sighed and glanced back across the room at him. It was hopeless, but it didn't stop them from pining.

The bell rang as they answered the last question, and they sighed, packing away their supplies. They ran the paper over to their teacher, meeting up with their friend before they walked to meet their other friends.

"Are you okay?" De spoke up, smiling softly at his friend.

Logan nodded and kept their head down, not quite sure how to interact with him. It hadn't always been that awkward. They used to get along just fine, they even had their own way of communication. But, since Logan had developed feelings for De, they seemed to have forgotten everything they had learned with him.

"You don't seem quite happy..."

Logan shrugged and glanced at him, forcing a small smile. They weren't sure what they ever did to deserve De, but they weren't going to ruin it by hurting him and forcing him to deal with their feelings.

They met up with their friends, quickly leaving the grounds. It wasn't a place they wanted to spend too much time on. No more than necessary.

Logan opted to walk with Virgil, the only person in their group of friends who understood why they never spoke. They walked along in silence, listening to the other four males talking.

Logan only told Virgil why they didn't speak. They wrote it out in a text message, late at night when they couldn't get over a nightmare. They had to tell someone, and Virgil was their oldest friend. They could trust him. Ever since then, they'd never even hinted as to why they didn't speak. Not to anyone.

They knew they could trust their friend group, but they didn't want to burden them with anything. Not to mention the anxiety rush that came after it. They hated the way it made them feel so empty. Even thinking about it made them feel hollow and almost regretful of what happened. They were told it wasn't their fault, but who else's could it have been?

They looked up as they arrived at Roman and Remus' house. The group had agreed to go to the twin's house because it was the largest, and therefore most accommodating for six people. They hadn't realised how long they'd been walking until they tuned back in.

They removed their shoes at the door and hung up their jacket, immediately pulling their sweater sleeves down over their hands. They nodded in greeting to their friends parents, before following De and Roman upstairs.

Patton, Remus, and Virgil soon ran upstairs, having gathered plenty of drinks and snacks to last them the entire night. They all settled into their regular positions. Roman and Patton at one end, Virgil and Remus in the middle, De next to them and Logan on his own just outside of the fort.

It wasn't that they didn't want to take part in it all, they just couldn't stand human contact. They sighed and looked down, not paying attention as movie after movie played. They didn't touch any of the snacks or even watch the movies, their mind too consumed by their thoughts.

As soon as the sun went down, and everyone else was asleep, they crept down to the kitchen, grabbing some water and a banana, unable to sleep on an empty stomach. They didn't think they were going to sleep at all, but it was better to at least try and fill their stomach in case they did.

"Logan?" De leaned against the doorway to the kitchen, watching his friend with slight confusion in his eyes.

Logan looked at him and smiled weakly, leaning against the counter. They opened their water, taking a sip and waiting for him to do or say something.

"Are you okay? You've been even more distant tonight that normal. Not saying that you don't have reason to, I just want to make sure you're okay."

Logan nodded and smiled weakly, pushing themself up, ready to go to bed.

"You know you can tell me anything... Text or write to me any time you need?"

Logan nodded and took De's hand softly. They traced a small 'thank you' into his palm, before going back upstairs. They smiled and sent him a single text, hoping it didn't ruin anything.

'I love you.'
