Roman sighed and stared at the ceiling, trying to figure out how the hell he was supposed to tell his boyfriend that he was moving towns for college. He didn't want to leave his boyfriend behind, but he'd gotten into his dream school, which just so happened to be on the other side of the country. He'd had it planned since he was in middle school, but he'd never factored in getting a boyfriend and having to leave him behind.
Roman jumped slightly as his phone ran, and he looked at the screen, unable to fight the small smile that showed when he saw his boyfriend's name.
"Hey, De."
"Roman, you will never guess what."
"No. I probably won't. What's going on?"
"You remember that college you applied to months ago, your dream college?"
"How could I forget?"
"Well, there's a community college just a few miles away, and I thought that if you got into your college, I could go to the community one, and you wouldn't be leaving me behind."
"But that's a long way for you to move too..."
"I have a friend with two spare rooms, he said we can crash there for a while until we settle."
"That's great, De. But we don't know if I got in yet."
"I'm sure you did, love."
"I don't know. It's hard to get into and I'm not the best actor slash drama person..."
"Roman, you're amazing, and you deserve to get in, if they can't see your talent, they don't deserve you."
"Thanks. Still on for coffee?"
"I'm offended you had to ask."
Roman laughed softly and sat up, pulls his shoes on. "I'll see you in ten?"
"Of course. I love you."
"Love you too."
Roman hung up and pocketed his phone, making his way downstairs and telling his parents that he'd be going out to the coffee shop.
Once they'd been informed, he was quickly out of the front door, heading to the coffee shop. It wasn't a long walk, but it wasn't just down the street, not that Roman minded, it was always nice to just walk along and enjoy the scenery, especially at the end of winter.
He quickly arrived at the coffee shop and found his boyfriend in the corner booth they often sat in, scrolling through something on his phone.
"Can I interrupt?" Roman slid into the booth next to De, smiling fondly at his boyfriend.
"Always."
De put his phone down and leaned over to peck Roman's lips in greeting.
"So, what's to drink?"
"Mocha or latte?"
"Latte sounds good, De, thank you."
"Anytime."
Roman moved to lean again De, wrapping his arms around De's waist, as De wrapped his arms around Roman's shoulders. Roman found his hand and laced their fingers together, smiling softly.
They stayed that way for a while, talking and half cuddling in the booth, not really caring about anything else, leaving the talk about college for another day, when Roman finally built up the guts to tell him.
