Deceit grumbled as he rolled over in his bed, trying to figure out his plans for the day. He knew he was going to spend the day with his datemate, having a day where they weren't going to do much.

Their relationship wasn't complicated, not to them at least, but he could see why it would be to people outside of their relationship. Both parties were panromantic and asexual, but their gender was the main difference between them. Deceit was genderfluid whereas Roman was agender.

When Deceit was having a worse day, when his dysphoria kicked in, Roman would always be there to help him. These kinds of days only happened when he was having a female day, usually, but it wasn't uncommon for it to happen at other times.

A knock at his door caused him to push himself up from the soft mattress. He called out for the person to come in, and when he saw it was Roman, he couldn't help but smile.

He beckoned him over to the bed, flopping back down and not much caring about actually getting out of bed.

He rolled onto their side and smiled at Roman as they slid into the bed next to them. He wrapped an arm around their waist and pulled them closer, smiling as they blushed slightly and buried their face in his chest, trying to hide their face, but Deceit already knew the effect he had on them.

"Good morning, beau." Deceit pressed a kiss to Roman's head, smiling as they tried to come up with something else to say in response, yet failed.

They finally settled for a simple "morning" and looked up at him, a small smile lingering on their lips and Deceit felt his heart flutter slightly.

"You're so beautiful." Deceit raised his hand and brushed some of Roman's hair out of their face, trailing his hand down to cup his datemate's cheek. His smile widened as Roman's cheeks turned a bright red and he couldn't help but let out a small laugh at them.

"Why must you do this to me? It's too early." Roman spoke up, and Deceit had to remind them that it was nearing ten in the morning, which wasn't too early for anything. "It's a good job I love you." They carried on, ignoring Deceit telling them about the time.

"I would hope so, it's not like I'm your boyfriend or anything."

"Boyfriend? Boy day?" Roman looked up at him, catching his eye.

"No, I said it to confuse you." Deceit smiled and he knew Roman knew he was being sarcastic and that it was, in fact, a boy day for him.

"Okay, well, boyfriend, what are we doing today?" Roman propped themself up on their elbow, looking down at Deceit, who followed their movements, and was now lying on his back, looking at his significant other's beautiful face.

"We could watch movies, bake, go on a picnic, or we could just stay here." Deceit hadn't really thought any of it through, he just wanted to be able to spend the day with Roman, since they didn't seem to spend much time together as of late.

"I'd love to go on a picnic, I know this amazing place for us to go!" Roman grinned, and if all Deceit saw for the rest of his life was that grin, he'd be more than happy.

"Well then, shall we go and prepare the food?"

"Yeah! But I should go and get dressed..." Roman pressed a kiss to Deceit's forehead and ran out of the room, leaving him to get out of bed and get himself ready.

Half an hour later, they were in the kitchen, preparing food, sharing kisses, and telling each other funny stories.

Deceit paused his movements when he saw Virgil stood outside the kitchen door, he and Virgil hadn't exactly ever been on good terms, and since he'd started dating Roman, Virgil seemed to become this really overprotective big brother, making it hard for Deceit to do anything with Roman.

"Virgil!" Roman grinned, following Deceit's gaze, missing the hardened glare Virgil had sent Deceit. "What's up?"

"Just came to get a drink for me, Logan, and Patton." He smiled fondly at Roman, before making his way to the fridge, purposefully bumping into Deceit.

"I don't see why you're so upset with me." Deceit turned to follow Virgil's movements. "I understand our history, but now? I haven't done anything."

"I don't trust you to not hurt them." He spat at him.

"Virgil, I love them, I would never hurt them! They mean everything to me, I wouldn't dream of hurting them."

"Your words mean nothing. Not after the way you treated me."

"Virgil, I mean it, I wouldn't lie about this."

Virgil let out a loud laugh and sent a glance to Roman, who had gone back to making a couple of sandwiches. "I will protect them to the day I die, and if you hurt them, I will personally see to it that you are tortured until the day you die."

"That's not at all harsh." Deceit drawled and went over to Roman, wrapping his arms around their waist. "And if you must know, Virgil." He turned his head to face him. "On the days I feel crappy about who I am, or my gender, Roman has always been there for me, and I will never forget that, or hold it against them. They have accepted me for all of me, as I have for them, and I will never hurt them, no matter what you think of me."

Virgil shrugged, dismissing his comment and walked out of the kitchen, leaving the two of them to finish their picnic preparations.

"What was that about?" Roman turned around in Deceit's arms, scanning his face, noticing how he had a frown etched into his features.

"Virgil doesn't trust me with you. He thinks I will hurt you." Deceit tightened his grip around Roman, trying to contain how much it hurt, having someone imply that he was going to hurt the one person he loved more than anything.

"To hell with it. I know you won't hurt me, I know you love me, and I trust you with my life. I love you so much, and I don't care what he has to say. You're my boyfriend, and I will do anything to make you smile." Roman wrapped their arms around Deceit's shoulders and peppered kisses all over his face, knowing it would eventually make the frown fade.

"You're too good for me." Deceit smiled fondly, holding them closer, connecting their lips.

Roman hummed, clearly disagreeing with the statement, yet he kissed back, not caring to pass up the opportunity to kiss their boyfriend.

"In the kitchen, really?" The logical side's voice broke them apart, bringing a blush to Roman's cheeks, and causing Deceit to roll his eyes.

"No." He grinned, sarcasm flowing through his voice.

"Just..." Logan waved them off, sighing and grabbing an apple before walking out, leaving them to it.

"We should finish this and go to the picnic spot I had planned." Roman pecked Deceit's lips, before turning back around and wrapping up the sandwiches, placing them in the small cooler bag they had with the other food in.

Deceit took the bag in one hand and Roman's hand in his other hand, letting Roman lead him to the small, secluded spot they had found.

They spent the rest of the day eating and laughing, and spending time together, enjoying the other's company, and Deceit realised, even if they didn't get these days often, he didn't care, the less frequent they were, the better they would be when they did happen.
