Your Pretentious Grace
Jimin's POV:
•Not proofread•
I released the breath I didn't even know I was holding when my husband left the dining hall. His body language after his outburst still remained tensed as if he's a tightly compressed spring, any other word to his dislike would have probably made him erupt like those bombs I saw a week ago.
Whatever conviction I had to fulfill my plans had dissipated at his small display of anger. I didn't want to deceive him, it was a scary thought. What's even more scary was the fact that if he finds out my true identity, his rage would be unparalleled. These past weeks showed a very pleasing side of him, yet this just exposed what lays under that calm exterior.
Those rumours weren't just rumours.
I fled the dining hall as soon as it became clear he was surely goneㅡ hopefully to his office where he'll remain forever. I don't want to face him again.
“Sir Jeon” a deep voice startled me, almost making me jump a foot into air. Only reason I knew it wasn't Jungkook was because of the title used.
“Taeyong, please don't creep up on me like that again” I requested clutching my pounding heart in the middle of the long hallway.
“My apologies Sir” he bowed respectfully, making me shuffle on my feet awkwardly.
It's hard to get used to so much respect when all my life I've been used to giving it. Well, at least my back is strengthened.
“I was sent by Commander, he ordered to join you on the trip to your kingdom” he explained.
“Oh” I sighed, feeling uncertain of going. Yet a very large part of me missed my home and the people I hold dear to me.
Yep, I'm definitely going.
“Let's go” I said and he motioned the path towards the front door. He directed us toward a large jeep, which held another huge gun at the backㅡ which I learned is a machine gunㅡ like almost all jeeps I've seen here.
The jeep treads through various roads in silence as I sat in the middle seat with Taeyong next to me. Two soldiersㅡ out of which one is drivingㅡ and the other sitting with a armed gun. Two other soldiers at the back manning the machine gun and a hand held gun respectively.
The amount of firepower these people carry around so casually scares meㅡ even more so because of my role as a mole. I don't think I'll ever get used to it.
Soon enough we reached the border gates, which were heavy wrought iron and ginormous in size. Our jeep halted and Taeyong got down, removed a paper from his front pocket and gave it to the soldier who looked like a high ranking official. He opened it and his eyes widened for a moment and he strode toward the Jeep.
“Sir Jeon!” He saluted and everyone else guarding the gates saluted and acknowledged my presence.
Despite being overwhelmed, I nodded curtly like I was taught to. This is another thing I can't get used to; all these scary soldiers looking like they would sacrifice their lives for me. Although when they realize my true nature, I bet they won't hesitate to kill me.
At my nod the officer dismissed himself and Taeyong got in. As the jeep started I asked him to show me the paper he showed that man. Opening the paper I found it to be a sort of letter of passage. It had Jungkook's signature and stated that I, Sir Jeon Taemin, should be allowed to cross the border. At the young prince's name, I wanted to rip the paper into shreds.
I didn't think I would get fed up with this façade so soon, but I'm definitely tired of this fake name.
Handing the paper back, I rested my head backward and decided to rest my mind. Way too many thoughts were making me dizzy.
“Sir, Taniland’s borders are approaching. We will need you to cross across them” Taeyong’s voice made me open my eyes and I glanced ahead. Surely there stood our border. There was a short distance between both country's borders
“Yes of course” I said despite a small panic setting through me. Hopefully the King let everyone know about my fake identity. Otherwise there's no way these people will know who I am, which will end disastrously.
We halted and I took in a self-empowering breath and got down. Immediately an officer ran toward me and bowed.
“Honoured to be in your presence your Majesty” at his words I could breathe freely.
Looks like everyone is willing to play pretend at the King's orders.
“We would like to pass” I nodded and motioned to the closed gates of our border.
“Of course your Grace” he bowed and ran towards the gate and ordered the men to open them.
I shook off the awkwardness I felt at the excessive respect and got in the jeep. I have to get used to this.
Once we crossed the border, I again rested my head backward. I'm not used to this much stress.

Author's POV:
Jimin was awoken by someone tapping his shoulder. He opened his eyes finding his secretary looking at him with a pleasant smile.
“We have arrived at Kim palace Sir” Taeyong informed and Jimin's eyes widened.
Jimin admonished himself for falling asleep. He hoped the gate security at the palace entrance didn't ask any suspicious questions to these soldiers who are with him.
He nodded at his secretary and got down, immediately getting mauled by a body which ran into him.
“Minnie, I missed you so much!” the boy exclaimed in a cheerful voice.
“Tae, I missed you too” Jimin hugged him as soon as he steadied himself.
“This is my secretary, officer Lee Taeyong” Jimin pulled away from Taehyung and motioned toward the handsome man standing beside them at a distance.
“Pleased to meet you Prince” Taeyong gave a small bow, which Taehyung returned.
“Please park your vehicle at the side and leave your guns in the car. They are not allowed inside” Taehyung addressed the men in the jeep, who immediately drove away, following his orders.
“Woah Tae, I see good commanding skills there” Jimin whispered as Taehyung interlocked their arms, walking them towards the palace entrance.
“Obviously” Taehyung raised his head high in pride, “you aren't doing bad yourself either, secretary and all that” Taehyung motioned back with a nod of his head toward the man silently following in their footsteps.
Jimin could only giggle at that. Behind Taeyong, the remaining four soldiers ran in and continued slowly walking after them.
“Please eat something and rest well in the chambers the maids will lead you to” Taehyung motioned to a huge food filled dining table in one of the halls, intending to leave the men behind so that they can talk to Jimin alone.
Taeyong immediately gave Jimin a look of concern.
“It'll be fine Taeyong, you should rest” Jimin said and Taeyong nodded.
“We must leave before sunset though, those were Commander's orders” Taeyong reminded knowing well the young prince could get carried away by meeting his family and forgetting his husband's direct order of returning at the given time.
He knows the young prince isn't aware of Jungkook's wrath fully. He had managed to anger the Commander this morning, which became clear when Jungkook had ordered him to accompany Jimin and get back before sunset through clenched teeth.
“Yes, I remember that very well” Jimin said sharply. He honestly didn't want to be reminded of that incident, thus sounding rather irked at the reminder.
“My apologies Sir” Taeyong bowed despite being treated rudely. He was just doing his job after all.
“It's fine” Jimin sighed, feeling bad for insulting him in front of everyone. Yet, he wasn't about to apologize to him immediately. He would do it later. Deciding he needed peace, he set off heading toward Taehyung's chambersㅡ which also included his own room.
“Jimin-ah! What was that all about? Your husband seems strict” Taehyung caught up with Jimin and asked as they walked side by side.
Jimin took a long sighing breath.
“He usually isn't but when I mentioned I want to visit my home he seemed ticked off. What pissed him off more was when I mentioned taking my work along with me to finish it” Jimin explained, half way to their destination.
“Work? Does he make you do house work?” Taehyung asked with furrowed eyebrows.
“No” Jimin giggled, “He made me public relations head, I basically solve everyone's problems and make sure everyone has enough funds and vital things” Jimin elaborated.
“Wow, exactly what a prince or king does” Taehyung mused and Jimin nodded his head.
“Tae…” Jimin drawled out when he realized something.
“How come you knew I had arrived and came to greet me? I couldn't inform you beforehand” he asked suspiciously.
“Well let's just say I have eyes and ears everywhere” Taehyung answered smugly.
“God Tae, you sneaked out again didn't you?” Jimin face palmed, yet the culprit only laughed heartily.
“Seriously stop doing that, we're in this mess because of that” Jimin pointed out.
“But I really like him! I haven't seen him for ages now. I even creeped around the borders to catch a glimpse of him again yet he wasn't there” Taehyung pouted.
“Firstly, that's extremely risky. Please don't do that. Secondly, I saw that guy one day, before the Commander went into battle and let me tell you, he didn't look like someone you should get with” Jimin said, not wanting his friend involved with these people.
He's getting first-hand experience with them and they're too hard-shelled to Jimin's liking.
“He can't be that bad since I spent some time with him when they captured me” Taehyung huffed.
“Please think of the future consequences before doing anything Tae. I don't want to stop you from pursuing him but with what I'm doing, nothing is going to end well. I think I might even die” Jimin whispered at the end.
“Minnie no, I will wage war if they hurt a hair on your head” Taehyung became serious in a split second.
“What good will that do? Either one of the side will perish, I don't want anyone to die” Jimin said.
“It's too late to save either sides Jimin. Your husband already uses our army in battles and many people die, so I prefer they kill their own people for their stupid ambitions” Taehyung stated angrily.
Jimin sighed in defeat, knowing well they're headed for destruction with full speed without any breaks.
“Don't call him my husband at least” Jimin huffed with an eye roll.
“That's what he is though” Taehyung stated factually.
“Whatever” Jimin pushed open the huge doors to Taehyung's room. Yet another body crashed into Jimin, only smaller in size.
“Jihyunie! How are you?” Jimin asked the boy as he picked him up and bopped his cute button nose, much like Jimin's.
“Very well! This place is so big! But I missed you Minnie” Jihyun pouted.
“I'll visit more often okay?” Jimin smiled and hugged him.
“But didn't you work here?” Jihyun pulled back and frowned.
“Uh yes, I used to. Now I got work somewhere else so I will be away from you” Jimin explained.
“Okay” Jihyun said sadly.
“Aren't you happy here?” the older asked tickling him.
“I am” Jihyun smiled immediately, “I get my own room and TaeTae teaches me to read and write!” He pointed to Tae who gave a boxy grin.
“Hyunie! He's a Prince! Don't take his name” Jimin scolded. He called Taehyung by his name because he was close to him; as for his younger brother, Taehyung was a Prince to him so he should show his full respect.
“Jimin-ah, I asked him to call me TaeTae. I missed someone calling me that after you left” Taehyung pouted and Jimin could only uwu at him. Giggling Jimin pulled Taehyung into a hug, turning it into a group hug as he already had Jihyun on his arm.
“Alright let's go to see appa” Taehyung pulled back and Jimin nodded setting Jihyun down. They left with the promise of spending time with the small boy after their meeting with the king.
