Russian Roulette

A week later:

Jimin stared out of the window of the Jeep as it drove dangerously on the roads headed towards his homeland. Usually, he would be bubbling with happiness at the prospect of being back home, but today wasn't one of those days. He absolutely dreaded that he was being taken to his homeland in such a way. He felt like jumping out of the Jeep, but even he knew that his action would grant him severe consequences. He shuddered when he recalled the events of the night Jungkook confronted him with the truth. The way Jungkook's behaviour changed with him turned his world upside-down. Only recently he had settled into accepting the idea of Jikook land being his home, but it was all snatched away within seconds.

The way Jungkook's eyes stabbed into his soul as he interrogated him the night after he awoke from his punch-induced unconsciousness still gave him nightmares. Almost every night he awoke in panic, only to find himself alone, with no one to comfort or reassure him of his future— if there's one left for him anymore.

"You run, you die."

"You rat me out, you die."

"You even think of betraying me again by warning them, everyone you hold dear to you die and lastly I'll leave you alive, crippled and alone to regret everything for the remainder of your pathetic life."

Jungkook's words kept pounding around his skull repetitively.

He could still feel the cold metal pressed harshly against his temple as his husband spat the venomous words at him. He could still feel the rope cutting into his skin as he struggled to get out of the restraints his husband put him in. His heart still stuck to his throat as he recalled unwillingly playing an even more fucked up version of Russian roulette. One wrong answer —deemed wrong by Jungkook's judgement— would have him pull the trigger placed at his temple, sometimes at his jaw and sometimes at his chest.

Fortunately, to Jimin's luck, none of the shots held the bullet. He almost believed Jungkook tricked him into thinking he loaded a single bullet until he actually fired the last shot at one of walls, leaving behind a small hole, which was the exact moment a part of Jimin's soul died. He couldn't believe it anymore. He no longer recognises the person that's seated next to him. He's a total stranger. His warmth, his comforting heart beats, his subtle actions that reflected care disappeared as if they never existed in the first place. Jimin believes he had made them all up in order to adjust to this cold, unbearable reality.

Only harsh words, glances of disdain, suffocating air and zero hint of smiles greeted Jimin whenever he passed by Jungkook in the halls of the office wing. He no longer shared a room with him. Jungkook had him moved into another room on the same floor but he rarely saw him around.

"You disgust me so much that I don't even want to breathe the same fucking air as you."

Jungkook never said it, but Jimin is sure that is what the commander feels.

Commander.

That is what he was now. He could no longer see the husband side of him anymore. Granted, he had fooled him into being his husband, but it hurt regardless. The same fact made him realise that he doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as him. The same fact was the reason why he was currently accompanying the Commander to carry out one of his plans.

Jimin wanted to laugh at himself. He never thought he could be such a cheap person. In one season, aiding someone, and in the other, aiding someone else. His personal beliefs and his responsibilities were at such odds that he was sure he would be killed trying to maintain both. Heck, he would be killed no matter what he chose, he was sure about it.

"We're here!" Yoongi announced at he skidded to a halt.

Jungkook had insisted for him to stay back, to look after the army and tend to the affairs but the officer insisted on accompanying them, for obvious reasons. Jungkook pitied him. He knew his husband turned out like this and there was a high possibility that the other one was the same; but, the smiles and giddy enthusiasm his friend showed every time he spoke about Taehyung, or returned after visiting him had convinced Jungkook to keep Yoongi out of this whole debacle. He wanted to blindly bet on Taehyung being good to Yoongi. If not, he could always avenge Yoongi in the end.

Jungkook got off along with Yoongi and Jimin took his time getting out of his seat. Couldn't blame him as his legs had turned to jelly on a hot sunny day.

With a single glance, Jungkook conveyed that Jimin better hurry the fuck up before the Kim family arrives outside to receive them. He was pretty sure the Kims had a panic attack on the sudden visit to their land, but that's exactly what he wanted.

Jimin made it to Jungkook's side and at the same time the huge palace gates opened with a loud groan.

"Commander!" Namjoon's voice was firm and his face stoic, showing no signs of the panic Jungkook is sure he was feeling internally.

"Your majesty" Jungkook replied as his one hand snaked around Jimin's waist firmly, he then moved forward, taking Jimin with him.

"King Seokjin" he acknowledged the other King who stood by Namjoon, holding onto his bicep.

"Commander!" Seokjin smiled charmingly, "glad you could make a visit to Taniland again, a very warm welcome to you and your troops" he scanned the various soldiers standing behind them, almost shielding them. All were armed and looked around in alert mode.

"Charmed to be here" Jungkook grinned and Seokjin moved ahead, extending his hand towards Jimin. Namjoon stayed behind, observing Jungkook and his body language.

"Mind if I steal away my son?" Seokjin asked with a smile, a sickening smile which Jungkook could tell now that he knows for sure how all of them are fucking great actors.

"Sure, just give me a moment" he smiled back. Seokjin gave a nod and moved a few steps back instead of going all the way inside, like Jungkook had expected.

Regardless, Jungkook turned towards Jimin, he then cupped his face to point it upwards and bent down to place an agonizingly slow kiss at his fake husband's lips. Pulling slightly away, he whispered against his lips, "Talk and you die."

Jimin had to gather every last bit of his energy to keep his composure. Luckily, he's sure he succeeded.

"Is he pregnant?!" the words broke them out of the intense situation and they stared at Seokjin who had again moved ahead and held a concerning look on his youthful visage.

"No" Jungkook answered firmly, eyebrows scrunched in offense. Seokjin simply nodded, visibly relaxing. Jungkook again turned to Jimin and placed another peck as a warning and slightly pushed him towards Seokjin, who immediately took the servant boy's hand and ushered him inside.

"Shall we?" Namjoon gestured as Jungkook finally looked towards him. Nodding, Jungkook followed after him, Yoongi on his right side while his troops stayed behind, scanning the premises. Both the Commander and the Second-in-command were fully capable of defending themselves so there was no need to enter the palace.

Inside, Yoongi's eyes scanned for a certain boxy grin and Jungkook on the other hand looked around for his mole. She sure had some more assignments coming her way.

Once inside the huge dining hall, he sat down with Yoongi. He quickly grew displeased at the fact that Jimin wasn't already seated at the table. He wasn't even in the room.

"They will probably join us for dinner," Namjoon piped in as he noticed Jungkook's wandering eyes, "assuming you would stay until dinner?" he cocked an eyebrow and Jungkook nodded, "of course" he said.

He needed the time anyway.

Tea and sweets were immediately served and all three men helped themselves to it.

"So, you wrote in the letter that you wanted to see the reserve army's progress personally?" Namjoon questioned as he took a sip of his ginger tea.

"Yes, I will be needing them soon" Jungkook answered and Namjoon expressed surprise.

"Invading someplace?" He questioned.

"Something like that" Jungkook answered.

"We can leave now if you want to" Namjoon suggested and both Jungkook and Yoongi agreed. The men then headed outside, ready to leave for the army base.

Jungkook wasn't bothered about leaving Jimin behind. He knew he had scared him enough that the boy won't utter a word out of place. Even if he does, he would enjoy the bloodshed that follows after. He wanted to make an example out of the Kim family for the rest of his rival countries and kingdoms.

Meanwhile:

"Are you pregnant? Be honest" Seokjin asked Jimin once they entered the King's bedchamber.

"No!" Jimin answered, horrified. If he was, things would surely complicate for him.

"I know he had sex with you," the King seemed pissed off, "I could see those marks," he pointed at Jimin's neck, "he didn't force you, did he?" he asked, eyes reflecting pure concern.

"No" Jimin shook his head quickly.

He had asked for it. Jungkook wasn't at fault. Never was.

"I consented for it" Jimin confirmed and Seokjin looked at him in disbelief.

"Did you really wanted to?" He questioned.

"Yes" Jimin answered firmly.

"I know you have to pretend and lie so much for us but I wish you didn't have to go through this" the King said.

"I can handle it" Jimin smiled at him.

A painful smile that brought tears to his eyes.

"Oh sweetie" Seokjin hugged him close and let the servant boy cry, soaking his royal silk shirt.

The King thought Jimin was crying for his hardships, but infact he was crying because their elaborate plan had blew right into their royal faces and there's nothing he could do to warn them. Jungkook had hammered it into his conscious that if he was to even utter a word of warning to the Kims, he would make sure to wipe out the entire Kim dynasty off the face of the earth.

Out of them all, he wanted his brother to remain the safest, which was the same reason why he hadn't mentioned his brother when Jungkook interrogated him. He wouldn't give him the chance to hold his fragile life over his head. He couldn't bear it. Having being threatened with the Kims was enough. Even though they were the reason he was in this mess, he would never blame them because if it wasn't for them, Taehyung would be dead and Jimin couldn't live with that either.

At The Army Base:

Jungkook looked on as the soldiers performed various manoeuvres under the supervision of Commander Jung Hoseok.

The soldiers bowed as they were done and Namjoon looked at Jungkook for his reaction.

"They lack at various skills" he lied.

Hoseok had trained them all very well.

"I was assured that these were the latest tactics and skills" Namjoon tried to save his pride.

"We have more advanced skills" Jungkook got up. He then gestured for one of his soldiers out of the troops that had accompanied them.

"Call in our elite troops to train them" he said and the soldier produced a piece of paper, on which Jungkook wrote a handwritten order with his signature, immediately bringing it into effect.

"You want to bring your troops here?" Namjoon got up and neared them, clearly unimpressed with this development.

"Yes, they will all train together," Jungkook answered as if talking to a toddler, "Any problem with that?" his tone turned slightly challenging.

"Of course not" Namjoon smiled sarcastically. He knew this little bitch was upto something and he would definitely find out.

Back At The Palace:

After crying his eyes dry, Jimin excused himself with the reason of meeting his brother and Taehyung. Unsurprisingly, as soon as he left the king's room, he was enveloped with a warm embrace by none other than the cheery Prince Taehyung.

"I've missed you Minnie!" He murmured into the latter's soft hair.

"I missed you too" Jimin managed to say without bursting into another bout of tears.

Taehyung broke the hug and walked them away and towards his bedroom.

"I tried to meet you the day before yesterday, but Yoongi told me that you were busy at the house office" Taehyung said with a pout as they walked, "I so wanted to barge into the castle and demand to see you but I knew it would be out of character so I stopped myself" he giggled conspiratorially.

Looking at a happy, content Taehyung alleviated some of Jimin's fears and he genuinely smiled at him.

"Then I'm glad I visited today" he said and Taehyung squeezed him closer, happy with the decision.

They then went to Taehyung's room where Jimin spent the remainder of his time with Jihyun, who sadly asked him a lot about his 'husband' and Jimin did his best at lying without, once again bursting into tears. Later on though, all of them laughed and joked, especially since Taemin decided to join them too.

Outside their room, Merie smiled to herself. The kids had unironically started to grow on her.

Late Night At The Kim Palace:

Jimin entered the dining hall with Taehyung, Taemin and King Seokjin, who was taking a report of how things were prepared for the guests. He was extremely thankful that Jihyun had an early dinner and was asleep already. He didn't want Jungkook to see him at all. He would keep him hidden as long as possible. He even said his goodbyes to him before the kid fell asleep.

He actually wasn't sure if he'll ever get to return here, or worse, he would probably be fucking dead soon.

"They've taken long enough" Seokjin said, slight concern painting his forehead.

"I heard they're reviewing the army, should take long enough" Taehyung piped in, internally pissed off because he knew for sure Yoongi was here and he hasn't had even a glimpse of his man. Fucking atrocious!

Taemin simply nodded at Taehyung's words. Jimin looked up at everyone's faces and realised if he doesn't co-operate with Jungkook's plans, they all would meet horrendous deaths. He knows the heinous ways the Jikook army uses to dispose off someone. He wouldn't let anything similar happen to the Kims, even if he would have to bet his own life. Which he already did and was ready to face the consequences.

"They're here" a guard at the dining hall entrance announced as footsteps echoed behind.

Everyone sat up straight and Namjoon came through the door, followed by Jungkook and Yoongi. The King took his seat at the head of the table and Jungkook naturally went next to Jimin, and Yoongi next to Jungkook.

(Time for them diagrams kids!)

               Seokjin   Taemin   Taehyung

                Jimin    Jungkook   Yoongi

"Taemin" Jungkook said purposely and he saw in the corner of his eyes as the real Prince looked up before quickly averting his head back down. Looking back at Jimin, he saw the mole about to stand in greeting and Jungkook placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him. He bent down and placed a kiss at the top of Jimin's head and the latter died some more inside. He then sat down, glancing around him. Yoongi had already started to eye Taehyung, who couldn't help but find the empty dishes entertaining.

Seokjin whispered to Namjoon, pretty sure inquiring about the lateness. Jungkook cleared his throat.

"Shall we start? It is already quite late and we have to head back" he interrupted them.

"Of course" Seokjin piped in before Namjoon could speak because he knew his husband's patience was wearing thin with this unruly brat.

With Seokjin's approval, the maids brought in hot food and cold beverages. Everyone helped themselves with dishes that they liked. The Kings and the two Commanders had rum and the rest had wine with their dinner.

"I hope the food was to your liking" Namjoon asked as a formality once they were done with the main course and were having chocolate covered fruits for dessert.

"It sure was" Jungkook nodded as he looked towards the King and then back at his plate.

All this time, he hadn't even looked at Jimin. He didn't want to spoil the taste of his dinner and he actually had an appetite after making sure he had his troops settled in at Taniland's army base.

"There is something else I liked here" Jungkook said after he drank the rest of his rum.

"What?" Namjoon asked with genuine curiosity. The host in him was ecstatic.

"Him" Jungkook pointed to Taemin, "I would like to marry Jaeyun" at his words, Namjoon choked on his dessert and Seokjin's eyes widened before he reached over to rub his husband's back. The mentioned Prince had turned so pale that it seemed like he would pass out any moment. The rest just stopped eating and looked on as if Jungkook had cracked an offensive joke.

Jimin on the other hand, well, he was sure his soul had left his damn body. Firstly, whoever the fuck decided this fake name for Taemin was a total dumbass. It made Jimin's ears bleed. Secondly, this was not a part of the plan! He has no idea what has gotten into Jungkook.

Then again, he realised, of course Jungkook would never tell him his full plan. Not ever again. He would be told only about his role in it.

"Pardon the fuck?" Namjoon raised his voice after he gathered his bearings.

All of this and he still came back to his son! There is no way he would give up Taemin.

"He is an orphan isn't he? He would benefit from a marriage with someone as powerful as Jikook land" Jungkook explained. He could see just how uncomfortable everyone was. Even Yoongi looked confused.

"He is too young for marriage" Namjoon choked out the only plausible response. Technically, Jungkook was right, he was quite generous in fact, but the truth was far from it. Though young, Taemin wasn't an orphan. The lies that they had spun were now around their own necks.

"I wouldn't consummate the marriage until he's of age" Jungkook added with a grin.

Jimin beside him had already disassociated as soon as he heard the word consummate. He wanted to scream and throw himself off a cliff, that is if he's even allowed to do so. Instead, he could only sit quietly, trying to breathe evenly.

"You're already married!" Namjoon exclaimed as if he just now realised the fact.

"So what? We can take another spouse if we want to" Jungkook replied.

"I thought you had a rule against it" Seokjin intervened, having heard it from his sources. He had a complete report on their country before they sent Jimin.

"I changed it" Jungkook simply answered.

"When?" Namjoon asked, his voice becoming even more panicked.

"Just now" he smiled sinisterly.

"Is Minnie okay with this?!" Taehyung practically screamed, face red.

Jungkook turned his head sharply in his direction.

"Yes he is" he almost sang the words.

Everyone looked to Jimin for confirmation and the boy was sure he would pass out. His mind raced dizzyingly. He wanted to scream no, probably flip the damn table as well. But he was aware of the power Jungkook had. Even now, his troops were in the next hall, dining with the rest of the palace troops. Just one order and the whole royal family and their servants would be slaughtered like animals inside their own home.

"Yes!" His voice almost cracked, "I am okay with it, he discussed this with me" each word stabbed him deeper.

"Very well then, I give you a day to prepare everything" Jungkook stood up, done with his job here.

"No! We need more time" Seokjin screamed and then paled when he realised how paranoid he looked.

They had to maintain the façade.

"Even though his parents passed away leaving him alone, he is still the royal heir to Graceland. His uncles might not see him as such, but we do so we would like to have an elaborate wedding" Seokjin pulled out the nonsense from the deep, dark depths of hell.

They had given the background of an orphaned Prince who was pushed out of his kingdom by his uncles who ruled the land for themselves. His deceased father was one of Namjoon's cousins, whom he held dear, which is why they had taken the child in their care.

Now the same lie was the reason why Jungkook could easily take away their son, along with Graceland by invading it and placing him as the rightful King. A King of their actual relatives land! They had to get the message out immediately and prepare them for an invasion. Most importantly, have them play along because there is no way they can let the truth slip out from anyone's mouth.

"A week, I expect him to be present at the ceremony just like Taemin was" he smiled looking at Jimin.

Fake, he felt sick acting the same as these bastards.

"Okay" Seokjin answered for the King. Everyone could see how helpless Namjoon was, he just stood like a statue, unable to believe this reality.

"We will take our leave then" Jungkook said and Seokjin nodded, heading out to see them to the gate. Jimin followed him on wobbly legs and Yoongi behind him made sure to communicate through his eyes that he would meet Taehyung soon.

As the guests and Seokjin left, Namjoon flug his chair across the dining table, utterly furious. He then slumped to the floor helplessly, crying when he realised how smartly Jungkook had even placed his troops on his land before practically snatching his son away from him. If he refuses to give Taemin away, he would face a battle from inside his borders. If he sends Taemin away, the rest of his family would be in danger. There was no option but to let go of Taemin.

Like he originally should have.
