Chapter 6 ✨

"Do you try to test Minho's patience with your existence, or are you just Hwang Hyunjin?" Seungmin joked as he watched the two males in question shouting and screaming at each other while he stuffed his face with a lot of popcorn.
"Not a time to joke around, Kim Seungmin. If we don't do something, Minho will probably choke Hyunjin," Changbin reminded, though he didn't move an inch.
Who would? Minho was a barking dog when he was angry, and approaching him would only result in being bitten by that said dog.
Seungmin only laughed in response as a slight smirk formed on his face. He looked at Changbin. "Who says Hyunjin won't like it? You know how the two are," he said, to which Changbin huffed, shoved his face into the couch pillow, and fell asleep.
Seungmin went back to reading his manga, "Given," to avoid the constant screaming.
"YOU HAD ONE JOB, HWANG HYUNJIN!" Minho spat out, his rage getting the best of him as he leaned over the table and clenched his fist. A wrong word or action could lead Hyunjin close to death, if not worse.
"He was already suspicious, especially after Seungmin and I had to—" But Minho was having none of it. His fist made contact with Hyunjin's nose, causing the latter to stumble backward and start bleeding.
"Fuck! What the flying hell is wrong with you?!" Hyunjin shouted, covering his nose. Seungmin looked up and quickly got up, moving Hyunjin away. "Go to my room. I'll stop the bleeding after I talk to Minho," he commanded in a whisper, not wanting to alarm Minho, who was at his breaking point.
Hyunjin left the room as Seungmin confronted Minho. "I know you're angry, but that is no way to talk to someone who has been actively helping us for years."
Minho looked at Seungmin, his eyes darkened and his breath quickened by rage. His fingernails dug deep into his hand, forming lines on his fingers, but he paid no mind to it. He took a deep breath. He knew he had to punch something. He needed to feel pain to let go of his anger.
It was always strange how, to feel anything when he was angry or to be grounded again, he needed to feel pain. It was like a drug he needed.
He shook his head and looked back at Seungmin. "Help him and—" He wanted to speak, but the words were stuck in his throat. Say I'm sorry.
"Your trauma doesn't excuse your horrible behavior, Minho," Seungmin said before leaving the room, leaving Minho in a distraught state.
Seungmin quickly made his way towards Hyunjin, who had tears brimming in his eyes. "Don't cry, stupid. You're stronger than this," Seungmin muttered as he gently put a cloth over Hyunjin's nose and bent him forward.
"I'm tired of him acting like this," Hyunjin confessed, gripping the ends of the bed. Tears streamed down his face as Seungmin hugged him close, patting his hair and calmly soothing him. "Shhh... I know," he whispered, resting his head gently on Hyunjin's neck.
"Jisung is smart. He'll know that I'm involved in something. I had to go check up on him, I—I mean, he's my friend!" Hyunjin kept explaining, knowing that Seungmin understood him nonetheless.
He continued ranting about how Minho's scolding was rude, even if alerting Jisung about their connections was bad for the group. Seungmin just listened.
"Hyunjin—"
"He never understands, and I feel so useless."
"Hyunjin."
"I've always wanted to be a cop, and being acquainted with you all makes me so nervous."
"Hyunjin..."
"I don't know what to do—"
Seungmin had enough. He grabbed Hyunjin's face, pulling him close and pressing their lips together with an intensity that conveyed all the frustration and unspoken feelings he had been harboring.
Seungmin's lips melted at the contact, igniting sparks that shot through his entire body. The kiss was fierce and desperate, his hands tangling in Hyunjin's hair, pulling him even closer.
Hyunjin stood frozen at first, his eyes wide with shock and his lips still. But as Seungmin's warmth and the urgency of the kiss enveloped him, he began to respond. Tentatively at first, Hyunjin's lips started to move against Seungmin's, matching his fervor. The initial hesitation gave way to a passionate exchange, their breaths mingling as the kiss deepened.
Seungmin's heart raced as he felt Hyunjin kissing him back, their mouths moving in a heated rhythm. He could taste the salt of Hyunjin's tears mixed with the sweetness of his breath, and it only made him hold on tighter. The world around them seemed to blur, the constant screaming and chaos fading into the background as they got lost in the moment.
But then, just as quickly as it started, Hyunjin pulled away, his hands on Seungmin's chest, pushing him back with surprising strength. Seungmin stumbled, crashing into the shelves, the reality of the situation crashing down on both of them.
"Fuck... fuck... fuck! You know he'll be angry," Hyunjin cried out. He didn't want to hurt Seungmin. They were close friends, after all, and he couldn't—
"I know. I'm sorry," Seungmin said as he got to his feet and was about to leave the room. He turned back and looked at Hyunjin. "Get well soon."
With no response from Hyunjin, Seungmin left the room. Back in the living room, Minho glanced over at Changbin, who was giving him a knowing look.
"First Seungmin and now you? Just spit out what you want to say," Minho grumbled. Changbin remained seated, his posture relaxed yet observant. "Look, Minho, I get it. You're under a lot of pressure, and sometimes you lash out. But this situation with Hyunjin... it’s more than that, isn’t it?"
Minho sighed, his anger ebbing slightly as he sat down next to Changbin. "This isn't just about Hyunjin screwing up. It's about Jisung. If Jisung finds out what web of network we're stuck in, he could get hurt. And I can't let that happen."
Changbin nodded thoughtfully, understanding the deeper concern. "Jisung's smart. He'd figure things out ever. But you're worried about more than just him finding out, aren’t you?"
Minho's eyes darkened, his gaze fixed on the floor. "You don’t get it, Changbin. Jisung is... different. He's unreadable, it's difficult to understand what he wants because I know this isn't only about being a cop. If he gets dragged into this mess, it could destroy him but not in the ways you think. And I can’t bear the thought of that. He's on the case to find L.K....to find me."
Changbin tilted his head, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Minho, let me ask you something. Is your protectiveness over Jisung just about keeping him out of this, or is it something more? Do you... like him?"
The question hung in the air, heavy and loaded with implications. Minho's silence was telling, his mind racing as he tried to process his own feelings.
Changbin leaned in, his voice gentle yet probing. "Do you have feelings for Jisung, Minho?"
No
I don't like him
And I never will. It's just-
I don't like him okay? He's a toy for me to gain happiness. After I get what I want, I'll be done with him.
I'm not in love with Han Jisung.
A/N : How do you feel about Hyunjin being in on it?
New comeback!!!! I love it so much ^^
