7. Should age discrimination be made illegal in the workplace? - Yes

#1.Unequal for youth

Age should not be seen or used as an indication of inferior performance especially since they are more experienced than the younger workers/applicants. Age discrimination should be seen as an unjust and unreasonable act and a violation of one's unalienable rights as it deals with the ones equality rights as well as the rights to happiness

#2. Causing detriment to the economy.

Age discrimination reduces productivity because job and advancement opportunities are inefficiently matched to workers and talent is wasted. if older workers remain in the labor market they will deny job opportunities to younger people, or push down wages.

#3.Requiring costly welfare and social assistance

Having few older workers also increases the amount the government needs to spend on unemployment and other benefits, and decreases tax revenues. This strain on public resources is increasingly critical in many developed countries given their aging populations, the projected increases in the dependency ratio.

#4.Profits

Without age discrimination and a mandatory retirement age, employers benefit from lower turnover and thus lower recruitment costs and effort, have done because workers stay on at work longer than they would have done.
