I Do(n't)

I said I do

You said it, too

We smiled and kissed as everyone clapped

Then, we danced

Then, we had a child

A beautiful daughter, you picked her name

Then, a lovely son

I picked his name

Then, the son died

And so did your heart

The yelling, the hitting, the beer every night

It scared our poor daughter, but she endured it anyways

You hurt me and her, did the unimaginable to your own child

Your own family, your own blood, lost so much blood that night

With the kicks and punches, the scars forever imprinted on our skin

Even when our daughter went to the grave, the scars were still there,

Even after I went to the grave

The scars will always be there,

No matter what
