The black stone.

Regardless of how much people laughed at Elizabeta, Peter didn't stop protecting and loving her. Elizabeta had no clue about anything that a woman was expected to know and came up with the most foolish ways to do whatever she was asked to do.

One day her mother in law asked her to take the workers' lunch and go there to give it to them. She had to cross the river and there was a bole instead of a bridge. She starred at it and she had no idea how to walk on it.

She decided that her best option was to sit on it holding the food in her arms and try to make little jumps while sitting on her butt. The more she tried to move forward the more wet she became since she was always wearing her lace lingerie underneath her clothes. The workers noticed her and stopped whatever they were doing laughing at her and making bets that she would drown. Peter realized what was happening and run to her. He got on the bole and even though he could effortlessly walk on it without losing his balance, he got close to her, took her hands and told her

"We are going to do this together. I am here to help you reach the other side". People kept laughing at her but he wasn't going to let her drown. He held her hands and helped her cross the river. Peter loved her in a way so honorable while everyone laughed at her and so deep that he was willing to carry her in any way possible even when she couldn't carry herself on that cruel land.

Sometime after the wedding her father showed up for the first time at the house of the newlyweds. The moment he entered he realized that she lived in poverty worse than he could think of and Elizabeta could ever survive. He knew that his daughter would stand a chance only if she could adapt to her new way of living. He asked her to prepare his horse for his travel back home. Elizabeta obeyed and he was silently waiting, checking if she had learned that simple yet mandatory task. She failed to do it properly. Her father looked at her mess, prepared the horse himself and rode away. It was the last time they saw each other.

Athena arrived a few months later to check things herself. She inspected the house, she saw her daughter and how everyone kept laughing at her and she left without saying a word, not even to her own flesh and blood. On her way home she had to cross the river. She stood in the middle of the river holding a black stone which she threw behind her back.

"When this stone returns that will be the time that of my return. My daughter is dead."

The river took the black stone far, far away. Neither the stone nor Athena ever returned . Elizabeta never saw her parents again, not even when they were dying. She was completely cut from her bloodline which eventually give birth to some of the most powerful and prominent politicians.
