The Remnant God✔️
Zoe's P.O.V
The flames died out immediately. We all just stared at the purple lit night sky. Nobody seemed to know what was going on until my mom made a move.
She gasped,"Look"
I didn't know what could be more fascinating than the light but then I saw what she was looking at. She was looking right at 4 SUVs, the very same ones that they drove. The Remnants have arrived.
"Mrs. Nyx and others, you are to immediately come with us." A burly man said simply.
Apparently the Nyxs took orders from everyone because they immediately got in the cars. Three more then pulled up making it official. We are going especially since my dad made me.
"Look I don't like him still but I know that's bad news." He told me. " So let's go."
We got in and drove away from the purple light. Eventually, after 5 minutes of driving the light vanished.
We pulled up by some grand building that stood tall and proud even at this hour. It took a lot to pry my eyes off where the light was just a second ago, but this did it. There was just something amazing about this place.
It was insanely tall, a sort of cross between an apartment building and mansion with intricate brick work and marble columns.
"Where are we?" The words barely escaped my mouth as we drove into the parking.
This place had its own parking!
"The Remnants Headquarters" The guy who picked us up, his name was Luke, said.
"Death owns all this?" I asked.
"You mean Jake?" Toni said.
"No, Death." I said flatly.
Luke chuckled at our argument. "Here we call him Jake because we don't talk to Hades a lot."
"Told you... wait what?" Toni gasped.
I don't think she believed the story grandpa Ted had told us, but coming from a person who wasn't there she was now forced to.
"Is he here?" My mom asked. She sounded more hopeful than me.
Wait. Why was I supposed to be hopeful? My brain seemed to ponder on that thought just for a moment before Luke answered.
"We'll tell you all you need to know inside."
That got me worried. It was as if we were all little kids and hear was this grown up telling us that everything was fine when it actually wasn't.
We parked and got out. Now that I was outside the car, I could see this place in finer detail.
The entrance was a big oak door with The Remnants symbol on it. Stretching in both directions columns were placed outside the walls. It was at least five storeys high and the only way I guessed that was the balconies. So far I could tell each side had multiple balconies which I presumed for each room. Only the left-hand wall was empty of balconies and doors itself. Braziers lined the walls lighting up the path ways.
The pathways led to a pool, garden, woods and a pond. Despite the cold winter that was upon us, people were spread out in every corner. Walking down paths, swimming, playing soccer or cricket or taking a romantic stroll. It was, which I imagined, heaven. These people were all different ages, yet they weren't even arguing. People were even streaming out and in the entrance.
"This way please." Luke said.
In my daze all seven cars had parked and unloaded our guests. A hundred people were now standing in the parking lot. I spotted Psyche and the others, even Michael. Seeing Michael stirred my emotions. I'm not daft. I know he tried to kiss me and to be honest a part of me wanted him to.
Being involved with Death had brought me into the supernatural. I needed to remind myself that this was out there. But now walking behind Luke, in this place, I seemed further from the normal world than ever.
Luke led us to the back of the mansion where I found another campfire blazing away. Grandpa Ted would love this place. Perfect for telling god stories.
"Please have a seat. We will commence shortly." Luke told us and turned the opposite direction.
As we sat, a huge horn blew. Immediately all the people started moving towards the campfire. Then I realized what this place was. One of those things in Roman times. What do they call those things again?
"It's an amphitheatre." Psyche answered.
"Alright settle down!" Luke shouted at everyone. "A terrible time is upon us. Tonight we noticed that Hades and Persephone have disappeared and an army of underworld creatures are streaming into the city."
Apparently not even the Nyxs could act normal. Everybody started freaking out and panicking. But my mind was on another part.
"Wait, you said Persephone? Hades wife is here? With Jake?" Psyche asked. She seemed very focused on this fact like me.
"Yes, just like Hades is in Jake, Persephone is in a girl that we know. Her name is Caitlyn and she rules the gang next to Jake. Anyways the last we saw them both was a few hours ago."
"A few hours ago?" My mom asked. "Isn't that when Death left the party?"
"Luke if she's right then Death appeared shortly after." A guy shouted out. "I saw him take her out too, Luke."
"Enough Gabriel! That's the least of our problems. If what all of you are saying is true, then that means a few hours later that purple light appeared. I bet that he had something to do with that." Luke speculated.
"I know what happened." Grandpa Ted. We all just stared at him for a few moments.
"And?" My dad exclaimed.
"Well go on, Grandpa?" I asked him.
He took a deep breath and stared at me intently. Something was in his eyes...something suspiciously like sympathy.
"There was a legend. A prophecy to be exact. When a godly couple reconnect with their mortal bodies, they create a path into their domain."
"You mean godly couples like Zeus and Hera, Poseidon and Amphitrite and...oh, Hades and Persephone. So your saying they reconnected and this happened. " Luke explained.

"This is my fault." I said out loud.
"No its mine." My mother said. "I shouldn't have invited him."
"The past was in the past, Isabelle. But the biggest problem is the path into the Underworld. This path is releasing underworld creatures which are hunting victims."
"Victims?" A female voice from the back asked.
"We noticed that the monsters were moving too well, and we soon realized they have targets. Targets like enemies of Caitlyn and Death." Gabriel informed.
"That's why you are all here. Without Death we can't control the army, and this place is the only place that can protect us." Luke said too calmly.
"As long as there aren't enemies of Death's are in here." Grandpa Ted said while looking behind me.
We all looked back at the same time, turning our heads towards... Michael. Shit Michael. Michael tried to kiss me. Death grabbed him and threatened him.
"We need to kick him out." I said.
"We can't. So we need to protect this place which includes him." Psyche said.
I looked out staring at the wilderness beyond the fences. Out there were monsters, enemies, destruction and him. Oh and her. The only thing on my mind...
