Okay, I'm not happy with one of my OCs (he's underdeveloped, boring) so I'm making a new one.

Personality: To put it bluntly, John is a bit of a dick. Often sticking his nose into business that isn't his, insulting other people's conclusions and extremely untrustworthy, John doesn't necessarily think he's better than other people, just that most people are idiots. His backstabbing nature is infamous, as he is willing to do whatever he needs to survive. He also isn't fond of rules and prefers breaking them/ignoring them to anything. Due to this, many in the hunting community loathe him, finding his speed to turn on his own to be sickening.
Despite his bad reputation, John is trying to fix his infamy amongst Hunters that he gained in his youth, but being half-witch doesn't work in his favour.
He is cunning, ambitious and charismatic, but unfortunately, his self-destructive tendencies and lack of care for his own life limit his efforts to change his life. He enjoys chaos, but sometimes finds comfort in order. He isn't a great guy, and acknowledges it but understands the need to negotiate more amongst species and not go in guns blazing.

Type of magic he specialises in: Necromancy. He can speak to the dead and the dead can use him as a vessel to speak to the living. He can reanimate corpses, but only for a short amount of time before he gets worn out. He cannot resurrect corpses. He can do a small bit of pyromancy as well, but it's very weak... And he just uses it to light cigarettes.

Backstory: Born as result of a one night stand between a witch and a human, he grew up alone, in an orphanage after his witch mother abandoned him out of shame. He was never adopted, with many parents turning him down in favour of other kids who were more talkative and charming than the quiet boy.
The repeated rejections made him furious and in his late teens after being rejected again, he left the orphanage to contemplate how awful his life was. By accident, he stumbled upon a group of Hunters who were killing a coven of vampires. He was initially terrified, but slowly the idea grew on him and he did his tracked down some Hunters in the area, and made up a story so as to pretend he was a Hunter who's group had been killed.
He gained fame as a Ghost Hunter, but never told anyone he was actually able to see and communicate with the spirits, realising early on, after mentioning it to one of his group, that it wasn't normal.
He attempted to track down his birth parents, unbeknownst to the group of Hunters he was working with, and discovered his mother was a member of a small but ancient coven. Feeling threatened and terrified due to their bad reputation, the witches attacked the Hunters... in their sleep. John woke up first, but decided to make a quick getaway rather than wake the others. However, after making the getaway, he quickly became consumed with guilt, and didn't join any other groups of Hunters, for fear of something similar occurring.
Having to foster his growing abilities himself, it became more and more difficult to hide it from those around him until, one day, when in a fight with a vampire coven with some other Hunters, he accidentally reanimated several corpses from nearby. The rumours that he was a witch spread fast, and he chose to ignore them, rather than correct them.

Other: He is from the ancient Le Fay group of witches, of which there are very few left. Being half-witch means he is not nearly as powerful as the other witches of the coven, but bronze doesn't hurt him so much that it's unbearable. It often feels like a sting or a immense heat.
He might have the magical ability to create cigarettes out of nothing, because he always seems to have a packet on him.
