Chapter 7 | Brother of the Girl-Who-Lived

Chapter 7 | Brother of the Girl-Who-Lived

Death had disappeared after half an hour of rambling, mentioning that Patience should be free around that time.

Reaching the milestone that Death said was supposed to be a giant rock, Harry was met with huge, red spiky, scaly snake heads instead. Yes, you read that right. Heads. As in more than one snake head.

In front of her sat a Runespoor on top of a gigantic Runespoor. In the bright side, they are probably the bloody same Runespoors that were in Newt's briefcase of wonder.

"Hey Mare, is that human wearing a Horned Serpent?" The smaller left head questioned as the right one retorted "You're an idiot, Dream. Can't you feel its aura? It's totally not a human. Right, Tasy?" Harry saw the middle one tilting her head at her. "Human? Is it a human? Wait, who are you, little human?" She questioned in a dreamy tone.

The larger Runespoor's head hissed in annoyance at the smaller Runespoor who was sitting on the larger Runespoor's middle head.

"Girls, shut up. You're bringing us a headache." The larger right head hissed as he flicked his tongue at them. The larger left head nudged the middle head to wake up while keeping an eye on Harry.

Harry heard Neptune hiss in amusement as the tip of his tongue flickered in her vision. "Little Deathling Speaker! Can we keep them?" He hissed hopefully as Harry once again turned to him in exasperation, wondering whether he was going to ask the same question for everytime they walk pass a magical creature.

"Neptune darling, we can't just 'keep' any creatures that we meet on road, understand?" She hissed slowly, in hopes that her words would finally go through his thick skull.

"A SPEAKER!"

She saw that the six serpent heads were now looking at her. The larger right head, acting as their leader, moved closer. "'Little Deathling'?" He drawled before narrowing his eyes, "Little Morris?" He hissed suspiciously.

Harry laughed happily at the thought of being remembered by the Runespoor she had saved in her previous life. "You were always the smart one, Clotho." She hissed happily before introducing her new serpent to her old serpents.

"This is Neptune. Neptune, they-" She started pointing to from the smaller left head in order until she ended up on the smaller right head as she named each of them respectively. "-are Dream, Fantasy and Nightmare. Those girls were found and named by my brother. While they are-" She continued to point, starting from the larger left head to the larger right head. "-is Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. Now these big guys were named and taken in by me." She finished proudly.

Neptune nodded before hissing "Speaker was the one who took them in. So why can't we keep them?"

The girl groaned at her snake's insistence and opted to just give up before she loose her mind. "You know what, I'm just going to ignore you, Neptune." She said before asking Clotho for a ride to Newt's house, ignoring Neptune's grumbling hisses.

"Newton, let me see my babies~!" Harry sang loudly, knocking a couple of times on the door.

After few moments, the door opened to reveal a Kneazel and a confused middle aged man whose couple of white strands stood out in contrast to his dark chestnut hair. And though he did look a little bit older than the last time she saw him, he suspiciously still looked quite young for his actual age.

"Newt, you old goat. How dare you grow old without me!" She exclaimed, making some big movements with her hands.

She could see his pale blue eyes taking in the sight in front of him.

A unknown child is standing in his doorstep and seemed to be familiar with him while bringing not one- not two- but three serpents in tow - two of which were the two Runespoor that he had kept in his suitcase - that looked massive in comparison to the child.

He opened his jaw and eventually did made out some words. "....I'm sorry?" He breathed, sounding so shocked that Harry couldn't help but giggle at.

"What, the damn snake recognized me but my own brother couldn't?" She feigned a hurt look.

He blinked widely at her statement. "Morris?!" He exclaimed, gaping.

The green-eyed girl sighed dramatically while shaking her head. "Oh, I see how it is. You got yourself an Order of Merlin and now I've been forgotten." She said, feigning sorrow. "Is this the limit of a Hufflepuff's loyalty?!" She continued, now on her knees while looking to the sky.

In the midst of her dramatics, she heard a resigned sigh coming from the man. "Definitely Morris." He muttered in amusement, finally snapping out of his shock at her sudden appearance.

A hand landed on her shoulder and Neptune turned on his position so she could see the smile plastered on his face. "Come on, drama queen. Let's talk inside." He said, gaining a nod from Harry.

"Now you be good and don't get killed, okay?" She hissed, getting an eye roll from the snake as she was looking through his eyes before quickly cutting off their connection and putting Neptune down to slither away.

"Wha-!"

"Parselmouth," She shrugged before putting her hand in his. "And blind, so please lead me in."

She tugged on his hand when he doesn't move. "What. Changed your mind so soon?" She joked. That seemed to have snapped him out of his daze as he then started to lead her inside the house.

"Well, you've come in probably the worst possible time." Newt laughed as he sat her down. "Tea?" He offered quickly, to which she declined with a shake of her head .

She heard him sitting down on the chair across from her before he explained, "Tina is currently visiting our son, Morris, and his family," Newt ignored Harry's undignified gape. "Theseus is taking a vacation from his Unspeakable duties with Leta to Brazil. And Jacob is in America, happily wedded to Queenie."

Ignoring the twinge of disappointment that she couldn't meet the crew, Harry smiled in relief. At least they're still alive and well.

"Wait- Are we even allowed to know about an Unspeakable's identity nowadays? You know what, nevermind. I'm just glad that you heeded my warnings about Leta. Merlin knows Theus needs someone to pull that stick out of his high arse." She giggled a bit before making a confused face at her brother, "And Jacob. Isn't he supposed to be around ninety around this time?"

"Ah yes, that bit." The brunette trailed hesitantly.

Harry made a gesture for him to continue. "Monsieur and Madame Flamel gave us three newly made philosopher stones, saying that we better not have any regrets before leaving." He said.

Beaming, she laughed, "Niko, that git! Can't believe this was the surprise he was talking about."

"So, you're not perplexed, after all?"

"At having more people waiting for me for when I come back? Why should I?" She said, making sure to grin brightly to assure him.

Suddenly, she heard some footsteps coming up the stairs. "What's that?" She asked, trying to figure the shape of its shadow as it slowly walked towards to her.

Only when it squawked in front of her, did she realize who it was.

"Achilles!" She squealed happily.

She reached forward and started to cuddle the Griffin's neck. "I still don't understand why you name them after Gods from Mythologies." She heard Newt mutter.

"At least they recognized me without me having to tell them." She stuck her tongue at him before giving the Griffin her full attention, "Daddy's back, Achilles! Did you miss me?" She coddled, receiving a squawk of affirmation as he rubbed his feathery forehead on hers, knocking her round glasses further down her nose.

Harry giggled, giving the Griffin one last kiss on his beak, before pulling back. "Want to come with me and just leave itty bitty Newt-y alone in his misery?" She asked, smirking as Achilles squawked happily.

She could feel him rolling his eyes at her statement. "He has always been yours, Morris. I was wondering when you'd come to take back some of your creatures." Newt snorted before making an 'ah' sound, "Do you still have any space for the two Runespoors?"

Harry lifted her eyebrow, "Both? I could understand if you want to give my Runespoor a larger place, being quite close to a muggle community and all, but yours?" She questioned, confused as to why he would part with one of the creatures that he had been taking care for a long time.

She felt Newt lean closer to her as he whispered in a conspiratory manner, "I got a feeling that Dream, Fantasy and Nightmare have all have a crush on your new snake. I've never seen them looking at another snake with that intensity befor-" Newt stopped his explanation when Harry suddenly held up one hand while the other covered her ear.

"Alright alright! I don't need the details! Lalalalala-I'm not listening-lalalala-" She exclaimed ludicrously. She totally did not see that coming, they had just met for Merlin's sake.

Newt rolled his eyes at her behaviour, "Anyways, thanks Morrs! Do you need my briefcase to keep them?" He offered but the ravenette only shook her head.

"Oh it's alright, I can just customize one again myself. Besides, I have the solution right here." She said before reaching to her bracelet. She undid the shrinking charm and the luggage returned to its original size.

She opened it, revealing one side which was full of compartments, and the other that had a set of stairs leading to her flat. Sticking her hand into the hole, she accio-ed and took out the portal-briefcase from her desk.

Harry used one hand to lift the case up while her other hand waved dramatically at it. "Ta-da! Brought to you by Knockturn Alley! A place where you can get anything from Thunderbirds to a portal in a case." She announced before carefully laying it on the table before her and opened it.

The interior of the case should reveal the chandelier up the living room ceiling of the mansion.

"And where does this transport you to?"

"Those mountains in Netherlands that I told you all those years ago. You know, the one with the mansion and a very strong muggle and wizard repelling wards." She answered, in a matter-of-fact manner.

She heard her older brother clear his throat and ignored his surprised mutter of "You were actually telling the truth about that."

Rolling her eyes, she stretched the case and stroked Achilles feathers. "Go on, Achi. I'll visit you soon enough but don't attack the Ukrainian Ironbelly or Thunderbird, okay? They are my friends." She sternly warned as the Griffin nodded before jumping through the briefcase.

No need for her friends to have some kind of a feud with each other. That would just give her some additional headaches.

"A bloody Ukrainian Ironbelly and a Thunderbird. Somehow I feel disappointed at myself for being surprised." Newt said, either to her or himself she wasn't sure, but she snorted anyways before commenting "Don't be such a hypocrite."

Thinking of her first Thunderbird acquaintance, "I wonder how Frank's doing. It would be great to introduce him to Aeolus." She mused absentmindedly. The magizoologist shrugged in turn, "Last time I saw him, I released him in Arizona." He said as she hummed.

Newt pulled out his own briefcase and asked whether there were any others that would want to go back with Morris - Harry - back to her mansion in the moutains. A few happily agreed as they preferred Morris much more than Newt - to which she rubbed in his face - while the others, having already settled down and had families in both the forest and suitcase stayed.

Once everyone was moved and happy, the siblings finally sat back down on the couches. "Oh, I forgot to ask. What is your current identity for this new life anyway?" The man suddenly asked as it only just dawned on him now.

"Thought you would never ask," She mused, waiting for Newt to take a sip before lifting up her bangs to show the lightning scar adorning her forehead "The one and only Harry-Fucking-Potter."

She laughed when she heard Newt sputtering tea everywhere as he choked in surprise. Totally worth it.

"Well, it means that Harry Potter is now a girl. Just know this, I'm not kidding when I tell you that the infamous Potter luck is very much real. And probably going to bloody fuck me up."

They spent the next few hours catching up to what they missed. What she had been up to in the last year and what he had been doing in the last decade.

Afterwards, after having a talk with both Runepoors that readily agreed to the change of environment, Harry now has more than a dozen magical creatures roaming around her property and made a note to order one more replica of Neptune's vivarium as Newt's Runespoor insisted on staying with Nept- her.

Ignoring Neptune's victorious hissings from the side of her neck, She took out a box from her Borgin and Burkes purchases. "Here, a vanishing box." She said, handing the box to the man, who raised an eyebrow in curiousity.

"And what is it for?"

"It works like the vanishing cupboard but in box form. This way we can just send any letters or things small enough through the box without delay." She said, shrugging before wincing in disgust at her next words.

"I wouldn't advice trying to send a live item, though. I'm about eighty-percent sure that it would probably get mangled in the process." She said, shuddering at the thought of intestines just exploding inside the box.

"Noted."

With her acquired eyesight, she stared at Newt who was currently looking very conflicted. His arms were slightly in the air as if he wanted to do something but the reluctance on his face was quite obvious.

Sighing, she reached out to him and wrapped her tiny arms around his waist. Well, not quite around as her arms were still not long enough. She patted his back a couple of times. "Don't be a stranger, Newt." She murmured against his chest. "I'm still your little brother. Or sister, I don't know." She snorted at her slight gender dilemma before feeling him hugging her back.

His long limbs were awkwardly wrapped around her tiny frame as they tried not to disturb the reptile curled around her neck. Though she felt her eyes close, she could see through Neptune's vision that he was also nudging his nose comfortingly at Newt.

A few minutes passed before they parted.

Bidding their goodbyes, Harry activated the return portkey. But just before she leaves, she couldn't help but comment "By the way, I totally claim the bragging rights for having your son named after me."

Jumping into the spinning hole, her laugh trailed behind her.

XxXxX

Harry: "It's not my fault that their personalities remind me of those bloody Gods."
Newt: *Trying to process her words* "Don't tell me- You met them, didn't you?"
Harry: *Smirking* "Have you read the Percy Jackson series made by muggles?"
Newt: "I don't believe I have."
Harry: "Well, he was a Greek Demigod. So guess who changed his gender and got stuck inside his body just after his mother died?~"
Newt: "..."

Harry: "Also Aeolus, the Ukrainian Ironbelly, was actually named like that before I met him. So, that's not really my fault."
Neptune: "What about mine?"
Harry: *Booping his nose* "You, my eyes, have the same name as one of the Roman Gods."

-After the Hug-
Neptune: "That's not awkward at all, Deathling Speaker."
Harry: *Flicking his nose* "Oh, hush you. Even after all those decades, I don't think anyone can master the art of feelings."
Harry: *Suddenly remembering Destiny's ward who actually mastered the art of feelings* "....Or is it just me."
