War felt that same burning sensation all around him and felt the buffeting wind as he fell down. He braced for the landing. There was a crashing sound and War was able to open his eyes.
"Looks like our tragectory was a little off." The Watcher mumbled, looking around the area. War grumbled something under his breath and stood up to retrieve his blade.
"Not so fast Horseman!" The Watcher growled, using his magic on War. War clenched his teeth in pain and punched the ground.
The Watcher came up into his face.
"Let's lay down a few ground rules. Your a dog on a leash. I tell you to bark, you bark. If I kick you, you better not bare your teeth." The Watcher threatened. War growled lowly.
"Or do I have to teach you how to play dead?" The Watcher taunted. War ignored the watcher and stood up, grabbing chaoseater and walked past him.
"Good boy..." The Watcher snickered as he walked away.
After leaving the building
War walked along the sidewalk, taking in all the destruction that he had supposedly caused.
"Subtle... I almost didn't hear you coming..." A silky voice said from behind him.
"Vulgrim." War growled, disgust hanging in his tone.
"Indeed it is me. It looks like the council finally took me seriously..." Vulgrim said, bringing his hands together in strange delight.
"Just take the souls demon. We mustn't waste time on you." The Watcher hissed, making Vulgrim smirk with hidden anger.
"You have a payment, hmm?" Vulgrim asked, eyeing the red rider's gauntlet. War held it up and watched Vulgrim swallow the helpess blue orbs, reaching out a few times to pull the souls into his mouth.
"There were a few young ones.. spectacular!" Vulgrim hissed excitedly.
"But for me to give you anything, you must pay for what can free you." Vulgrim sneered, making a horn a appear in one of his hands and pointing a clawed one to the giant stone gate that was in front of the building, blocking the door.
"Feed my hunger, and I will feed your curiosity..." Vulgrim said, waving his hand to make the horn dissapear. War growled in annoyance, he was everyones pet today wasn't he? He marched away and cut down a mortal recreation.
War didn't mind to get the souls really, you should always pay for what you require. That's what War believed anyway.
500 dead souls later
"These ancient gates are more powerful than you could ever know. Once the enemies of the Destroyer, now they are forced to be slaves." Vulgrim said, gruming the last part nearly to himself.
"Torment and freedom can be different or exactly the same." A voice called from atop the giant stone guardian. War looked up and spotted a boy with messy black hair that had some white strands in it.
"That brat hasn't gone away for some time." Vulgrim hissed to War.
"That brat has saved your ass a couple of times, Vulgrim. And so have I." Another voice called. War recognized it and glanced over to see Fear balancing on a railing. He still had his long trench coat and usual clothing but had two scars on his face.
One stretched from his eyebrow over his left eye all the way to his chin and another one starting under his right eye and stopping at his lip.
Fear shot War a smirk.
"The council miss me?" Fear asked. War growled. Great now he had to deal with his nieces mate on this barren world and could do nothing about it.
