"The Law is clear: When the Seventh Seal is broken... Six Horsemen shall ride fourth to punish the wicked... be they Sons of Man... Lords of Heaven... or the Dregs of Hell... All upon the Earth will be judged, and the pact forged anew..."
War knelt down to the ground, bracing for the Council's harsh words of disapproval.
"YOU FORGET YOUR POST, HORSEMAN! YOU FORGET THE LAW!!" The head in the center yelled. Horseman? War thought to himself. Why was Fear missing?
"No call was given!" The council member continued.
"Yet the Destroyer marched, and there you were found-under his black banner if the claims are true-"
"To hell with your claims! The Seals were broken! I was summoned!" War interrupted with rage for getting the punishment for the angels and demons misplacement.
"But where are the other Horsemen? Were they not "summoned" as well?" another head shot back. War bared his teeth. He chose not to say anything about Fear, it was War who had convinced him to come, it would not give him any help.
"The seven Seals are hidden, as they have been since the pact was forged, eons ago... all of them intact... there was no call." A head explained, sounded somewhat gentler with the scorning.
"You aided the Dark Ones. Broke the sacred covenant that has doomed Mankind, and threatened the Balance! Do you deny it?" A head demanded.
"When I rode... Heaven and Hell were already at war. Abaddon was there. He knew something...!" War stated, looking up, remembering the angels strange behavior and final words.
"Abaddon fell, fighting off the chaos you unleashed!
"I fought powerless against the demons! And still you accuse me?!" War retorted back, his frosty blue eyes glowing furiously with hatred and anger.
"Your defeat proves nothing! Likely, the Destroyer cast you aside when he was finished with you!" A head shot at him.
"You have defied the Law, Horseman. You will be punished."
"I serve only the Council. Only the Balance. As the Horsemen always have." War said, moving his gaze over each of his masters.
"Send me back. I will punish the ones responsible." War suggested, trying to keep from being locked away in his so called 'cage'.
"How? What hope do you have against the Destroyer's armies? You are powerless!" A head said.
"Then I will fail, and the demons will have carried out your sentence." War answered back, determination building in him. The heads fell silent in thought for a moment.
"Very well. You will return to the Earth. But, you will be watched. Come forth." The head commanded. War approached the lava river and stared into it for a moment. He kneeled down and took a breath, this was going to hurt.
War plunged his iron fist into the lava and kept himself from yanking it out, grunting at the heat. He watched as the pool darkened to a deep black, then go into his gauntlet. He lifted it up, shaking off some leftover magma and the black goo.
"The Watcher is bound to you. It will ensure your loyalty." A head said. A dark sprite appeared next to him with a sinister laugh. He flew around the rider a bit, then grabbed onto his shoulder.
"Remember that. Or I will really get under your skin!" The Watcher said with a sick grin, tightening its grip on his shoulder guard when he finished. Pain shot through War's arm and he grabbed it, grunting painfully through clenched teeth. Suddenly it disappeared and so did the Watcher.
War walked over to the other pool and retrieved his sword.
"Some demons are more easily bought then killed. Seek the demon Vulgrim." The Council instructed. War walked over to a portal and went through it, blue souls going into his gauntlet as he disappeared.
