Death and Luar had gone to Alya, where she had offered the Horseman his brother's gun.
"Thats Strife's gun. How do you have it?" Death demanded with suspicion. Alya shrugged, holding the gun out to him.
"Just came across it. Do ya want it or not?" Alya asked smartly, smirking at Death. Death sighed and took the gun from her. Luar bowed to Alya.
"Thank you. I'm sure it will help us." Luar thanked. Alya smiled and scratched the back of her neck awkwardly.
"Tis no probelm, you don't have to praise me Luar." Alya said. Luar smiled.
"Well, I thank you in the end." Luar said, turning on her heel and following Death down the staircase.
"Those two are such opposites, how on the Creators name did they fall in love?" Alya asked, not talking to anyone inparticular, as she watched them leave together.
"She is his light." Alya's brother whispered. Alya turned to him in surprise. He hadn't spoken in such a long time.
"The one time you open your trap and its something I don't understand!" Alya complained, glaring at him. The blacksmith smiled and continued to pound steel with his hammer.
Death and Luar traveled through the Weeping Crag and rode through the fields between them and the temple.
"I want this to be quick." Death said to her. Luar was behind him in the saddle, her arms around his abdomen for security.
"I never asked you. Why are you even here? What happened?" Luar asked. Death sighed.
"War is being judged for a crime he did not commit." Death said bitterly, obviously displeased by his memory of when he found out.
"War? He wouldn't do anything against the law, I highly doubt he would strike out either. What is the crime?" Luar asked, leaning closer to Death so she could hear him better.
She noticed that he hesitated and the muscles in his back tensed slightly.
"The extinction of the Third Kingdom..." Death finally revealed. Luar gaped in shock. War causing the extinction of the Third Kingdom? That is ubsurd! War might as well be the law himself with his morals! Luar thought in her mind. Her brows lowered and she closed her mouth, her lips falling into a frown.
"War would never do such a thing. Not even back when he-" Luar stopped herself. She couldn't bring that up. Death was guilty enough about it, she didn't need to remind him of it.
"I know. Thats why I must prove his innocence while he is being judged by the Charred Council." Death explained, stopping Despair in front of the temple entrance.
"We're here, lets go. The sooner this is done the sooner we can leave..." Death growled. Luar dismounted Despair and watched her husband open the door, turning to her and gesturing for her to come.
Luar sighed and walked forward.
