Unknown Sender

L paused, then smiled. "Alright," he said. "Soichiro-san, Matsuda, go to room 68 and ask Wakahisa-san for the level B-1 lethal injection. Hand it over to Uoda-san who will be waiting with Oshima. Oh, and please entrust Soichiro-san of the syringe and not Matsuda for your safety. The others, proceed to your current investigations. That would be all. Thank you."

Soichiro and Matsuda nodded their heads curtly and exited the room. The rest of the members followed them, leaving you, Light, and the three detectives remaining in the now silent room. Mello awkwardly broke the silence by loudly taking a bite off his chocolate bar. All of you stared at him, making the blonde man feel more awkward.

"Well, uh, if you don't have anything assigned for me, L, please excuse me," Mello said. He went out of the door with a slam.

Suddenly, your phone beeped. It was a text, but from an unknown sender. You unlocked your phone and checked the message.

"Meet me at the rooftop."

"Eh? What's this...?" you thought aloud, analyzing the text once more.

Light raised a brow. "What's wrong?" he asked. He went closer to you and read the mysterious text. "Hm? Who sent this to you, (Y/N)?"

"I don't know... Maybe it was sent to the wrong person--"

Your phone beeped again. It was another text from the same sender.

"(Y/N)."

Your eyes widened. "Who is this??"

L tilted his head. "Whatever that message is, you should go prove to yourself that it is not fake."

You looked at Light, waiting for his approval. When he nodded at you, you bowed and walked out of the door. "Please excuse me," you bid politely.

Whilst heading to the elevator, you thought about who could this unknown sender be. "Who would want to meet me at the rooftop right now? It's for sure that it's someone from the Japanese Task Force, or someone who has access to get inside this private building..."

"Psst," a male voice called. It was coming from behind. You turned around and gasped, almost letting your phone slip from your hands. You calmed a bit down when you saw that it was Near.

"N-Near...-san..."

"You can drop the -san; no need for formality." The white-haired boy dropped his robotic toy on the ground, producing a loud clunk. "Ah, it fell," he said in a monotonous tone. You squinted your eyes and knelt down to pick it up. Near knelt down too before you could rise.

"How do you find Yagami Light?" he questioned with a sassy-like face.

You cheeks faded to a deep shade of red. "H-Huh? W-W-What do you mean...?"

"How is it that you were able to fall in love with Yagami Light?"

"H-Heh? U-Um, well..." Yo thought about it for quite a while until you found the answer: "I don't know!"

"What? Do not try to avoid the question, (Y/L/N)-san."

"N-No, no! Really, I don't know. Maybe... maybe it was our hearts that decided for ourselves. It's strange how I developed feelings for Light-kun. I guess I could say that he is very nice and sweet in the inside. Light-kun has good intentions, and I understand them all..."

"It is strange, indeed. I do not understand love fore a human being, and probably will not. I think it is too much to handle, too much to sacrifice... and too much sexual content." He stuck his tongue out in disgust. You blushed, facepalming.

"Uhh, I have to get going now. We could have another conversation next time, okay?" You handed his toy over to him.

"Yeah. See you later." He stood up and casually walked away.

You sighed and went to the elevator.

As you reached the top floor, the rooftop, the clouds started to become darker. Thunder was heard and lightning was seen for a short moment. From afar, a blurry figure of a girl could be seen behind the thin layer of fog. She was holding a cellphone. You walked towards her.

"Who are you?" you managed to ask in a loud voice, enough for the person to hear. "Are you the one that sent the message to me about meeting you at the rooftop?"

The girl turned around, revealing her identity. Your eyes grew large in shock.

"M-Misaki?!"

"Yagami-kun, why is it that you do not feel bad for Oshima-san?" L asked Light. "You do not show any concern or strong emotions to your friend. Why is that so?"

Light paused for a while. "I never mentioned that Toru and I are still friends," he replied shortly.

"Hmm? What happened? Could it be because of his reputation as one of the Kiras, you had to avoid him?"

"...Yes. He as Kira does not deserve friends nor compassion from me. The two of us are opposites. Justice and injustice cannot go well together." Light set his briefcase down and stared at the television screen, watching how much his ex-friend is suffering. He continuted. "Toru has led a very sorrowful life recently, so I think that it's best for him to leave, since it seems that that is what he wants."

"You may have a point, Yagami-kun. However, if you were Kira, would you still want to befriend me? Even though 'justice and injustice cannot go well together'?"

He froze as L said the Kira part, but immediately recovered after. "If I were Kira... then Kira would most likely choose to befriend you. So, yes."

L smiled and bit his thumb. "Very well..."

"(Y/N)-chan, it's been a while!" Misaki said with a glad expression. She waved her hand at you.

When you reached her, you did not hesitate to show your true emotions. "Hirokazu Misaki, why are you still here?"

The girl grinned. "Eh--? What do you mean? I came here to have a little chat with you, (Y/F/N). Oh, or maybe I should call you by your infamous name, Kira?" She giggled, covering her smiling lips.

You clenched your fists. "I told you not to call me that!" you yelled.

"Heh--? Why not? I mean, it is true that you said yourself to me before that you were, in fact, Kira. Let's talk about that matter."

You slapped her so hard that it almost made her lose her balance. Misaki peered at you with a shallow-angered face. "Ow, that hurt, (Y/N)-chan..." she fake-whined.

A brief moment of silence filled the humid atmosphere. You decided that it's time to tell her what you truly think about her, starting from the root.

You took a deep breath. "Your name isn't Hirokazu Misaki, is it?"

The girl smirked. "So you finally found out, huh?" She sighed. "Ah, just when my plan was going to get better."

"After all of your deceiving, toying my emotions about Light, you deserve to face twice the sufferings that happened to me! You're such a--"

You collapsed, butt hitting the floor first. Your vision seemed to become a little hazy, and your head grew heavy. The girl rushed to you, knelt down and touched your shoulder. "Are you okay?"

You knew what she said was fake. Right now, her words cannot be taken seriously. You slapped her hand away from you. Your anger for her was so strong that you just want to punch her, kick her, strangle her, stab her, and most of all, you want to kill her. You quickly switched to your death god eyes to find out this girl's real name.

"I'll never forgive you!! I'll kill you--"

You froze upon discovering a truth about this girl.

"Y-You..." you stuttered, "have it...?"

She smiled. "So you did make the trade. That proves it all that you are Kira."

You stood up, dusted your pants, and threw a strong slap, but missed, only creating a cut at her face with your sharp nails. Thick blood slowly oozed down her cheek.

"I won't ever give even a bit of mercy to you...

Koyoma Miharu."

Up on one of the tall structures built at the rooftop, there lied the man, Mello, who eavesdropped on every single word the two of you had spouted out. He took a bite of his chocolate and formed a mischievous grin.
