Peer Pressure
(Y/N)'s Pov
"N-NO! ST-STOP HURTING ME!!"
I watched helplessly as my "friends" started to brutally attack the weird, raven haired boy. To be honest with you, I don't even know how we grew to hate this boy. He hadn't even done anything to us.
It was to keep from being alone.
Allow me to explain: If I didn't pick on this boy with my group, my "friends" would surely leave me or bully me too. I couldn't stand any of that happening to me, so I stuck to picking on this boy.
But I know that it's the wrong thing to do.
"Haha! What a loser!" My friend Abigail said, getting the boy on the floor and kicking him.
"Emo!" Millie shouted.
"Die, scumbag!" Bethany yelled.
I said nothing. I just sat in the back and watched all this play out.
"Hey (Y/N)!" Abigail turned to me and picked up the boy by his shirt. "Show him who's boss!"
She then threw the boy at me. He landed with a thud in front of me.
"Please...Just leave me alone..." the boy said helplessly.
I hesitated a little. I really didn't want to hurt this boy. This whole time, I only called him names and, at the most, pushed him. I hadn't hit him or anything like that!
I look over to the other girls. Abigail had a smirk on her face and her arms folded, Millie was twirling her hair and admiring her nails. She didn't care what I did to him. And Bethany had her hands on her hips.
What was I to do here?
I sigh and put my foot on the poor boy.
"Stay away from us, you creep!" I say.
"Yeah! You tell that weirdo (Y/N)!" Abigail said.
The three girls laughed.
"Come on guys! It's lunch! Let's grab some food!" Bethany said, rushing over to the canteen. Abigail and Millie followed her. I sigh and follow behind. I look back at the boy.
"I'm sorry..." I mutter but I'm certain he didn't hear me.
-Later-
"That dude is such a loser!" Abigail laughed.
"You should have seen his face!" Bethany shouts.
"AH! HELP ME!!" Millie tried to impersonate the boy, resulting in the three girls laughing hard.
I didn't even crack a smile. I just casually sipped my carton of milk.
'Why do I even hang out with these people?' I thought.
"What do you think (Y/N)?"
"Huh?"
"That boy needs to die!" Bethany says.
I sigh.
"Can we talk about something else? That boy isn't worth our concerns", I say.
"Yeah, (Y/N) has a point", Millie says. "We shouldn't let that idiot bring us down! Let's talk about music!"
Well, at least that's out the way for now.
I begin to space out as the three girls talk about music and which singers they think are hot and whatnot.
I stare at a random table. No one was sitting there. At least not yet.
I saw that raven haired boy sit down at the table.
I noticed he didn't even have any lunch with him. How awful! He looked really hungry too. I felt really bad now.
"(Y/N), you keep spacing out a lot. You okay?" Millie asked.
"Oh, yeah. I'm fine".
"Hey, how about we go outside and go to the shops for sweets and stuff?" Bethany requested.
Millie and Abigail agreed.
"You guys go. I'll stay here. I'm not feeling too good to be honest", I say.
"Oh okay then (Y/N)", Abigail said. "We won't be long though".
And with that, the three of them left.
"Finally..."
I look over to the black haired boy. He stood up and went to walk off.
This was my chance to make it right to him!
He walked down the hall and I went after him.
"Excuse me", I reach my hand out to him.
The boy turned around and immediately gasped and backed away.
"Your one of the girls...wh-who are always b-bullying me...Please! I'll give you anything you want! Just leave me in peace!" The boy said, tears streaming from his dark eyes.
I noticed his eyes had really dark bags under them. Our bullying must keep him awake at night. Another reason for me to feel like a complete idiot.
"I'm going to be honest with you here", I say.
"H-Huh?" He turned his head in confusion.
"I never wanted to hurt you".
His eyes widened a little.
"All this time, I've pretty much been forced into bullying you. I had no choice. If I didn't, my friends would leave me and I would have nothing. I didn't want that to happen".
I sigh but I noticed the boy was listening very closely. Like he understood what I was trying to say.
"I really am sorry! Please forgive me for my actions!" I say. I could feel tears in my eyes too.
"I understand..." he said.
"Please, if there's anything I can do to make it up to you-"
"There's no need to do that", the boy shook his head. "I'm just glad that you have realised the damage that is being caused because of what you and your friends are doing".
"I don't even know why I call them my friends. They're just bullies! If anything, it's them that's the scum!"
"I'm grateful that you are willing to tell me how you really feel, but what about those girls? What if they find out about this?"
"Don't worry", I say, folding my arms. "They won't find out about this".
"Find out about what?"
Uh oh...
I turn around to see the girls behind me.
"Hey! It's that brat!" Abigail pointed to the boy again making him jump.
"I bet he's trying something on (Y/N)!" Bethany said. "Let's get him!"
The three ran for the poor guy and kicked him to the ground. I just stood there and panicked.
'I can't stand this anymore! I need to set this right!'
"ENOUGH!"
Everyone stops to look at me.
"I'm not having this anymore! I've been going along with hurting this poor boy even though he's done nothing wrong and it's killing me everyday! We don't even know what he's going through! I'm not doing this anymore! It's sick!"
The girls stand up and look at me in shock.
"So you're sticking up for this boy too?" Abigail pointed to him.
"Yes!"
And with that, the girls threw me against the wall and started to attack me instead, causing the boy to go into panic mode.
"Traitor!"
"Idiot!"
"Useless brat!"
I didn't care what they did to me! I just didn't want to see this boy suffer anymore pain! I didn't even know his name either.
"Run! Get out of this area before they hurt you again!" I shout to the boy.
He was so scared.
"N-No! You found the courage to stand up for me, so I'll do the same for you!"
The boy approached the girls and tried to get them to stop, but it only resulted in the two of us getting hurt more.
"We don't need that bitch. Let's go", Abigail spat on us and walked of with the other two.
I gather my strength and stand up.
I stumble over to the boy.
"A-Are you okay?"
He looked up at me, sad and scared.
"Y-Yeah..."
"I'm sorry..."
"You don't need to apologise for that. You've already apologised for your sins. That's all that matters", he gave me a small smile which I returned.
"I realised I don't even know your name. You must know mine. I'm (Y/N)".
"I'm Ryuzaki", he said.
"That's a nice name!"
"You think so?" He blushed a little.
"Again, I am sorry. I really want to make it up to you. I want to put this all behind us and be friends! But...I understand if you don't want to be friends. I mean, this is a difficult thing to put behind you-"
"I've never had a friend before. I'd like to be your friend (Y/N)", Ryuzaki said.
"Really?"
He nodded.
"You were honest with me. And honesty is something that is hard to find in people".
He gave you a warm smile. You smiled back.
"I guess you're right. Then let's be good friends!"
"Yeah!"
"Oh! I almost forgot!"
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a few toffee sweets.
"I noticed you didn't eat anything at lunch and you looked really hungry too. I know it's not much, but I want you to have them".
Ryuzaki's eyes sparkled.
"Th-Those are my favourite..." he whispered.
"Here! Have them!" I giggle.
"Thank you so much! You are a very kind person (Y/N)", Ryuzaki said, taking my sweets
I giggle again.
"But I can't believe you lost your friends because of me", Ryuzaki said sadly.
"As I said, I shouldn't be calling them my friends. And it's not your fault at all. It was mine for thinking I could trust them. I've realised that I'll be a lot better on my own".
"Yes, being alone is better than being with the wrong person", Ryuzaki stated. "I'm glad you saw that (Y/N)".
Soon, the bell rang for our afternoon classes.
I stand up and offer Ryuzaki my hand and help him up. He blushes and awkwardly takes his hand away.
"Well, I have to go now. I enjoyed talking to you Ryuzaki. I'd love to know more about you!" I say waving goodbye to him and running off.
"Yeah!" He called back waving.
We may still get bullied now, but I don't care. As long as Ryuzaki is safe, I don't care what those girls do to me. I'll make sure to look out for Ryuzaki and help him when I can.
Ryuzaki is a real friend. I don't want to lose him.
(A/N): First of all, I'm kinda too tired to look for gifs at the moment.
Second, I keep making oneshots where either L or the reader gets hurt! Why?! Why do I do that?! It's not my intention guys! I'm sorry! I just can't think of anything else! But I promise I'll get more fluff stuff out! I just need to think of some stuff.
Thirdly, I may go back to my headcanons if I feel like it!
