From her World (Part 1)

(A/N): Okay, let me explain this one before I jump into it.
First of all, this whole From her World storyline is a story that I will actually be creating as a proper manga/comic in the future. It will contain my own characters and relationships!
This whole idea is my thing so I will not appreciate anyone using this idea in anyway!
I decided to create this as an L X Reader oneshot to try and get the story idea out to you guys as I'm currently working on writing the story before I draw the panels and make it more comic like.
Now let's begin!

L's Pov

"Argh, my head..."

I sat up and rubbed my head.

"..."

I looked around me. All I could see were loads of trees and the dark, starry sky.

"It worked..."

I was in a new world...

Now that I was here, there was only one more thing that had to be done.

I had to find Light Yagami and Misa Amane...

The thing was, I had found out that these two people were the two Kiras that I had been trying to track down for years.
Once I had found out their identities, I had to arrest them of course. But they managed to escape, using a machine. I was able to connect this machine to them within no time. I found it in Amane's room.

This machine, after I researched it, allowed them to travel to another world to get away from arrest.

I decided to use the machine myself to see if it worked. To find them and bring them back to Earth, so they can be arrested without causing anymore harm to others.

And well, the machine worked.

"Right, I need a place to start searching" I said to myself.

I looked around but with it being so dark, it was hard to see where any of the paths lead. The trees in this forest place were huge as well, so it was hard to see beyond anything.

I sigh and chose a random path to walk down.

'What could those two possibly be doing to the people in this world...?' That thought kept bugging me, as I walked. I had to find these two as soon as possible and get out of here.

As I was lost in thought, I didn't know where I was walking to and I felt my foot sink into something on the ground.

I quickly jump back to my senses and step back.

"What is that?" I inspect what was on the ground.

"Footprints?"

Human footprints. They lead down the path.

"Someone must be here" I whispered to myself.

I decided to follow these footprints to see where it would take me, but I couldn't see anyone.

"It's so dark to make anything out..."

Suddenly, I heard a faint growl.

"...Was that my stomach?" I ask myself, putting a hand to my stomach.

It wasn't my stomach...

The noise soon got louder.

I look up and all of a sudden, I could see this huge lion coming for me!

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

I turned on my heels and quickly ran back the way I came, the lion not far behind me.

"Jesus Christ!!" I pant, running as fast as I could to try and escape.

But I was only human and that was a fearsome lion.

It didn't take long for it to catch up with me.

I soon ran into a dead end. There was too many trees and bushes and I was unable to squeeze through.

I look behind me to see the lion right up at my face.
It scratched at my face, causing me to fall over.

It looked like it was gonna eat me.

But just when I thought it was all over for me, I hear a faint cry and all of a sudden, someone had jumped on the lion's back and put some sort of bridle over the lion's mouth to control it.

"Easy boy! Easy!"

The lion tried to fight back, but eventually calmed down. It didn't go back for me.

I slowly stood up, though my legs were a little shaky from a near death experience.

"I'm sorry. I forgot your feeding time!"

In front of me, was a young girl, wearing an explorer's outfit with a hat and had her hair up in two pigtails. She also appeared to be carrying a backpack. She took off her backpack and pulled out a steak, throwing it to the lion. She took off the bridle as the lion was under her control.

"There, there. Good boy" she said, stroking the lion as he ate the steak.

It was then she noticed that I was standing in front of her and finally acknowledged me.

"I am extremely sorry about what happened just now" she bowed to me. "Samuel gets very angry if he hasn't been fed at his specific feeding time."

"You think?" I say, in an annoyed tone, pointing to the claw scratches on my face.

"I cannot apologise enough for that. That was my fault."

I fold my arms.

"To make it up to you, how about I take you back to my tree house, and I'll clean up your wounds!" She offered.

"...Fine. These'll bug me if I don't do anything about them" I say.

The girl smiled at me.

"Awesome! Thank you!"

"I don't even know your name though. Can I at least get that?"

"Oh of course. My name is (Y/N). (Y/N) (S/N)!" The girl smiled. "What's yours?"

Even though the Kira case was solved, I still didn't wanna take any risks...

"You can call me Ryuzaki..."

It was then I realised...

"Why is the lion wearing boots?"

"Oh! All the animals in the Forgotten Forest wear boots or something on their feet" (Y/N) replied.

"Forgotten Forest...?"

"I'll explain more when we go back to my tree house" (Y/N) said, jumping back on the lion's back and offering a hand to me. "Come on. Samuel can take us there."

"You really think I'm gonna jump on the back of the lion that tried to kill me?" I ask.

"Come on, he's learned his lesson. And he's under my control now" (Y/N) replied. "Right Sammy?!"

The lion gave me a sad look as if to say he was sorry for what he did.

I look up at (Y/N).

"Don't you want me to treat your wounds?"

I sigh. I don't have much of a choice. This girl is really the only one I have to guide me anywhere at the moment. And being in a tree house would probably be better than trying to figure out where I'm going at night.

"Alright..."

I take (Y/N)'s hand and she pulls me up onto the lion's back.

"Let's go Samuel! Slowly though!"

The lion did as he was told and slowly walked forward down the path.

"Is your tree house far?" I ask.

"Not really. It's pretty much in the centre of this forest."

"..."

The lion walked for what felt like 10 minutes until he stopped.

"Looks like we're here" (Y/N) jumped off and I followed.

"Thanks Samuel. We'll manage fine from here now. I'll see you tomorrow!" (Y/N) waved goodbye to the lion but before he left, he growled at her.

"I know, I know! I promise I'll feed you on time from now on!"

The lion smiled and headed off on it's own, a lot more satisfied.

"He seems to like you..." I say, watching the lion disappear into the darkness.

"I trained him to like me. He ain't got a choice" (Y/N) laughed. "Now come on! Just up these steps."

She began climbing up the wooden steps that were connected to a tree, leading up to her tree house. I followed behind.

"Let me grab my first aid kit!" She said as she got inside, myself just climbing up the last few steps.

Once I pulled myself up, I looked around.

This tree house was surprisingly quite big and it was really clean. The bed looked neat and comfy too and it had a nice looking rug on the floor where (Y/N) was sitting.

(Y/N) took off her hat and hung it up on a nail in the wall. She took out her two hair bobbles, letting her hair droop down.

I had to admit, I think she looked better with her hair down like that. But who am I to tell her how to style her hair?

"Just sit down and I'll see to these wounds" (Y/N) said with a small smile.

I sat down in front of her and she opened her first aid kit.

She sprayed disinfectant on a small cloth and held the cloth to the cuts on my face.

"Ow! Do you have to put so much pressure on it?!" I say.

"Sorry! I've never treated another person's wounds before. Only my own...Sorry if it hurts."

"Do you put this much pressure on your own wounds?!" I snap.

"I'm sorry! I'm just tryna stop it from going infected!" (Y/N) replied.

That didn't answer my question but I'm not bothered about that right now.
What I'm bothered about is finding Light and Misa. I'm not sure if this girl can help me, however. She probably knows a lot about this forest so she can probably help me get out. But where would I go from there? Perhaps I can bring up this subject to (Y/N) and see if she knows where I could look around.

"All done! You should be good to go!"

I was so lost in thought that I hadn't noticed (Y/N) had finished cleaning and patching up my cuts.

"Oh! Thanks."

"Not a problem!" She packed her things away.

'I can't just straight up ask her to help me when I hardly know her' I thought. 'Maybe I should just make casual conversations with her before asking.'

"This is a really neat and tidy tree house" I say. "You must take good care of it."

"Of course" (Y/N) replied. "It's really only what I have, so I have no choice but to take care of it."

"Really?" I was actually quite surprised by that.

"Yeah. I live here, in this Forgotten Forest."

Wow. That's interesting.

"Oh yeah. You said you were gonna tell me about this Forgotten Forest and why the animals wear boots."

"Oh that's right!" (Y/N) sat back down in front of me.

"It never used to be called the Forgotten Forest. It used to be known as The Forest of Hope. People would grow all sorts of pretty flowers in that forest. It used to be so bright and the trees weren't so big either. People would go to that forest to pray for good things in their life as it was known for bringing hope to everyone. Even those who did bad things."

(Y/N) sighed and I stiffened.

"So...what happened?"

(Y/N)'s eyes turned to me.

"I don't really know, myself. People just sorta gave up on it. I did hear, however, that one person found an animal of the forest and believed it was something poisonous. They thought it was God's punishment or something like that. They warned others in the village and they all stayed away from the forest. Even though, the animal wasn't even poisonous. People around here, in the vllage outside the forest, aren't fond of animals all that much. They think they are dangerous to the human race."

"Oh..."

"Over time, the forest got poorly. Flowers died, trees overgrowed, it became a mess. It became forgotten. I couldn't stand to watch it suffer. I didn't want the animals to get sick and have no one to look after them. So I decided to live here. So I could save the animals and this forest, even when everyone else forgot about it. Even if I'm working alone, I have to save them."

"...So that's why you get the animals to wear boots?"

"Or just footwear in general" (Y/N) replied. "They wear footwear so that if they ever leave footprints, anyone that ever does come into the forest again will see that the footprints are human like and won't suspect that there are any animals here."

I kinda felt...bad for her. She was doing everything in her power to save these animals and this forest all on her own.

"It must be tough..." I say. "Especially on your own..."

"It can be..." (Y/N) said. "But it's also really fun! Cause I can do whatever I want and have fun all I want here!" She smiled.

"I guess that's a plus..."

"And besides, I have you now Ryuzaki!" She took a hold of my hands, making me blush. "You came into this forest! That must mean you have hope for the forest to survive, right? Let's save these animals and this forest together! Two heads are better than one! Just think of what we can do for the environment!"

She's jumping in too quickly here! She thinks I'm from the same world!

"No!" I snatch my hands away from her grip.

"I didn't come here to look at animals! I came here for a much more serious mission!" I stand up.

"Oh..." (Y/N) suddenly started laughing. "I'm sorry. I was jumping in too quickly haha. I do that a lot. I get excited often. Apologies."

"I don't even belong in this world. I came from a different world and I'm only here to find two people and return back with them."

(Y/N) stopped laughing.

"You're from a different world...?"

"That's right. And...I was wondering if you can help me on my search...?"

(A/N): Well, that's part one. Obviously, I had to sorta cut bits and break it down a little so it can fit as a oneshot, but I hope you all like my idea! This is in the making of being a manga/comic and I'd love to hear any comments or opinions on this story. Anything that needs fixing, I'd be happy to take notes on it.

Again, please don't steal this idea as I spent so many restless nights planning this out way before I wrote this. So all credit to me! 😅
