(A/N): I'm honestly the worst at coming up with titles lolol

"I can't believe I got stuck with you again..."

You had to go shopping for your parents but you were then told that you had to babysit your little cousin so they had to come along with you.

"Right, stay beside me and don't go wondering off okay?" You say to your 4 year old cousin as the two of you walked into the huge supermarket.

"Okay, let's see here..." You pull out the shopping list your mum gave you and took a look at what you needed and where you should look first.

"Banana!" Your cousin then ran off at the sight of the bananas before them.

"No!" You rush them and grab their hand, pulling them back. "I told you to stay beside me. Don't go running off!"

Your cousin gave you a sad look.

"Don't give me that..."

You sigh. This was gonna be a long trip.

You pick up a shopping basket and begin walking around with your cousin, grabbing things you needed and ticking them off the list as you go.

Your cousin was getting pretty bored just waddling along with you. They wanted to explore.

They looked around the place, taking in their surroundings.

"Milk next. Come on, let's go."

You take your cousin's hand and lead them to the dairy products.

"Okay. We need a specific kind of milk..."

You began looking around the milk for the right kind.

Your cousin just stood there and fiddled about, trying to keep themselves occupied. They were very bored now. And you taking ages to get milk wasn't helping.

They looked around some more until they spotted something else.

Cereal!

Kids go crazy when they see cereal.

They were so tempted to go and see the cereal but at the same time, they had to stay in your view.

But...it shouldn't hurt to take a small peek, right? To them, you seemed more focused on finding the right milk than anything else.

Your cousin then took a few steps closer to where the cereal was, then made a run for it. He was so excited to see the cereal.

"Don't tell me they don't have-Oh wait! Found it!" You say, reaching over and grabbing the milk you preferred over the rest.

"Okay, got the milk. Come on (C/N). Let's-"

You turn around to where you were sure your cousin was standing, only to see they weren't there at all.

"No...They're making fun of me aren't they?" You shake your head and walked to the end of the aisle.

"This isn't the time to play hide and seek" you state, peering around expecting to see them there, only to be greeted with nothing.

You begin to panic. You had lost sight of them.

"O-Okay (Y/N), don't panic. They can't have gone far..."

You begin to look around, calling for your cousin but you weren't getting very far.

"Oh for goodness sake! I tell them to stay beside me and they just wonder off! Kids can be such a pain..."

You look around some more, beginning to pick up the pace as you go from aisle to aisle, peering around all the corners, trying to find anyone that resembles a 4 year old (boy/girl).

"Oh for goodness sake, where are you?!"

"Are you okay?"

You turn around to see a young guy behind you, with a concerned look on his face. He looked about your age, with pale skin and jet black hair. He slouched, but at this point, you didn't know if he was slouching to get to your level, or if he had some kind of back condition or something. It's kind of unusual to run into a guy like this.

"Hello, miss? Are you alright? Have you lost something?"

You were snapped out of your examination on the strange young man and got back to your senses.

"Ah, yes! I lost sight of my 4 year old cousin. They were right beside me as I was getting milk, but now they've disappeared and I'm gonna be in so much trouble if I don't find them!"

"Try not to panic" the young man said. "Panic never helps in these kind of situations. How about I help you look for your cousin. What do they look like?"

"You'll help me? Oh thank you so much!" You say, bowing to him. "They look like this."

You pulled out a photo from your purse that resembled your cousin.

"Their name is (C/N)."

The man took it from you and after a few seconds, gave it back to you.

"Noted" the man nodded his head at you. "I think the best place to start looking is remembering the fact that they're a 4 year old kid. We just have to ask ourselves, if a kid is exploring a supermarket on their own, where are they most likely to go?"

"That's a good point" you state. "If I were 4, and alone in a supermarket, I'd probably wanna see foods like chicken or sausage rolls, something like that."

"That's a fair point. Most kids these days seem amazed when they see foods like that" the man said. "I think we should start by taking a look in aisles where we'll find those kind of foods. We might be lucky and find them there."

You nod but you were unable to stop a light giggle escaping from you.

"What's so funny?" The man before you looked confused.

"I just can't believe I'm having this kind of conversation with a stranger I just met" you laugh.

"Yes, it is hard to come by. Not something that happens every day" the guy replied.

"My name is (Y/N) by the way."

"You can call me Ryuzaki. Now, let's have a look for your cousin."

"Right!"

Yourself and Ryuzaki make your way along to the aisles where they kept chicken and other meat, but there was no sign of your cousin.

"I have a suggestion" Ryuzaki pointed out. "How about we split up and look around the whole place, in all the different aisles then we'll meet up again here and see if we find anything."

"Okay, that sounds like a reasonable idea" you say. "We'll meet back here then!"

"Let's meet at about 25 minutes from now."

"Got it!"

The two of you rush off out the aisle and all around the supermarket in search for the kid.

"(C/N)!" You call out.

"(C/N)? My name is Ryuzaki and I'm helping your older cousin. If you could come out, I'll make sure you get back to her safely. She just wants you to be safe."

You and Ryuzaki look around everywhere but couldn't spot the kid.

'I hope at least one of us can find them' both of you thought the same thing as you continued to look.

25 minutes has passed and you and Ryuzaki decided to meet back up at the meat aisle to see if anyone had found your cousin.

Sadly, as the two of you met, there was no kid.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N)" Ryuzaki said. "I looked everywhere..."

You shook your head.

"That's okay. Thank you for taking the time to help me" you smile at him.

"I'm gonna be in so much trouble from my mum and aunt..."

"I...I'm sure he'll turn up" Ryuzaki said, trying to reassure you.

"Hey, big cousin!"

The two of you froze as you heard a familiar voice from behind you. You turn around to see your cousin walking towards you, carrying an open box of cereal.

"(C/N)!" You yell. "Where the hell have you been?! Didn't I tell you not to run off?! You had me worried sick!"

"I wanted cereal..." they replied.

"Well, if you waited like I told you, we would've looked at the cereal once I was finished! I had to take time from Ryuzaki so he could help me!"

"Honestly, it's okay" Ryuzaki said to you.

"I'm sorry..." your cousin looked down at the floor, making you sigh.

"I see you've gone and opened a box of cereal...I guess I'll have to pay for that then."

"I'll pay for it, no worries."

You turn to look at Ryuzaki.

"Are you sure it's no trouble?"

"Not at all. And you don't need to pay me the money back or anything either. I'm glad you got your cousin back safely" he smiled.

How can someone be so kind?! Just who was this guy?!

"Thank you! Thank you so much for everything!" You say to him, making him laugh.

"Now come on. I'll go get you some cereal, then we're going home" you turn back to your cousin and take his hand. "And I don't want you telling aunt or mum about what happened!"

You and Ryuzaki waved to each other as you head off.

Ryuzaki smiled to himself.

"Cute."
