(A/N): The song above is the song you and L sing in this oneshot. It's called The Only Exception by Paramore. I love this band and this song so why not do this?
But if you don't like Paramore, then first of all WHAT?! Second, feel free to change the song to whatever you like. I just wanted to use this song since it's such a beautiful song.
Anyways, on with the oneshot!

(Y/N)'s Pov

It was quiet in the taskforce. Far too quiet for that matter! It was making me feel slightly uncomfortable.
I needed to break the silence somehow!

I look around. Everyone seemed stuck in their work.

That's when I decided to break the silence with a little bit of my singing.

"When I was younger, I saw my daddy cry and curse at the wind"

I looked around again to find no one paying attention to me. That was fine. My singing isn't the greatest anyway.
But I continued to sing the song.

"He broke his own heart and I watched, as he tried to reassemble it"

Still no one took any interest in my singing, so I continued.

"And my momma swore that she would never let herself forget"

I was about to sing the next part of the song, when a familiar voice sang along:

"And that was the day that I promised, I'd never sing of love if it does not exist"

I shot my attention to the sound of that familiar monotone voice.

It was obviously L.

But the thing was, I never knew he knew Paramore! Or this song for that matter!
But it was nice to know that he was familiar with a song and band that I loved too. So I continued to sing:

"But darlin' you are the only exception.
You are the only exception".

L also continued to sing:

"You are the only exception. You are the only exception".

L was actually very good at singing it seems. He's a lot better than me, that's for sure. He continued to sing the next part:

"Maybe I know, somewhere deep in my soul, that love never lasts. And I've got to find other ways, to make it alone but keep a straight face".

I look at my feet as I sing:

"And I've always lived like this. Keeping a comfortable distance. And up until now, I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness".

We then started to sing together.

"Because none of it was ever worth the risk!"

I shot my attention back to L when he sang that part at the same time I did. But we both continued to sing.

"But you are the only exception. You are the only exception. You are the only exception. You are the only exception".

L turned to look at me and gave me a small smile. I blush a little and smile back at him.

Soon, we were joined by another voice:

"I've got a tight grip on reality, but I can't let go of what's in front of me here!"

It was Misa. She likes this song too. She was kinda ruining our moment, but we didn't complain. Misa has a lovely voice.

Then, as if it couldn't get any better, Light jumped in too:

"I know you're leaving in the morning, when you wake up! Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream, oh!"

L and I giggle at Light's attempt at singing. Misa turned to Light and continued:

"You are the only exception".

Light looked away from her and sang the next line:

"You are the only exception".

Then me. I looked straight at L and sang with a smile:

"You are the only exception".

Finally L. He looked straight at me and gave a small smile:

"You are the only exception".

Soon, we were all singing the chorus!

"You are the only exception! You are the only exception! You are the only exception! You are the only exception!"

All of us giggled and L sang the next part:

"And I'm on my way to believing".

I then finished it:

"Oh, and I'm on my way to believing".

"WHOO! THAT WAS AWESOME!!" Misa yelled. "GREAT SINGING EVERYONE!"

I giggle and turn back to my work, only to have an arm wrapped around my shoulders.

"You're very good at singing (Y/N)", L said to me.

"Thanks", I blush. "You are too".

"Thank you".

"How do you even know Paramore?" I asked.

"I've heard you listening to them before, and I kind of picked up on the lyrics to that song", L replied.

I smile at him again. I'm glad he pays attention to the things I like.

"DON'T YOU THINK IT WAS SO CUTE WHEN L AND (Y/N) KEPT LOOKING AT EACH OTHER AND SMILING WHEN THEY SANG?!" Misa squealed.

L took his arm away from me and scratched the back of his head.
I did the same. Both of our faces going slightly red.

"(Y/N)?" L began.

"Yeah?"

"You are the only exception", he said, before pressing his lips against mine.

"AWW!!" Misa squealed, grabbing onto Light's shoulders and shaking him.

L pulls away and covers his mouth in embarrassment.

I blush madly, but I gain the confidence to say:

"I've got a tight grip on reality but I can't let go of what's in front of me".

As soon as those words leave my mouth, I wrap my arms around L and kiss his cheek. A small gasp escapes his lips.

Misa started screeching as she clung onto Light.

"LIGHT!! WHY CAN'T WE BE LIKE THAT?!" She screeched.
