"Man, it sure is quite boring in here today", Matsuda says. "There's nothing to do today".

"You don't do anything anyway", L says, looking through the reports you gave him.

"Shouldn't you be with Misa at her new show?" You ask.

"I'm supposed to be dead remember? Mogi is with Misa Misa", Matsuda replied.

"Oh"

Then, as if on que, the doors to headquarters burst open and Misa rushes in. Mogi panting behind her.

"GUYS!! BIG EMERGENCY!!" She screamed.

"What is it?!" You leap up from your seat.

"Did you lose one of your lipsticks again?" L sighed, still looking through the reports.

"WORSE THAN THAT!" Misa yelled.
"ONE OF THE MAIN ACTORS FELL INCREDIBLY ILL AND HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!! HER BOYFRIEND, WHO WAS ALSO PLAYING A MAIN PART IN MY SHOW, IS WITH HER! NOW THEY CAN'T PLAY IN THE SHOW!!"

"That's awful!" You say.

"What are you gonna do now?" Matsuda asked.

"I need two actors!" Misa said.

"Well, I like acting. I could play the part for you Misa", you say.

"You will?! AWESOME!! THANKS (Y/N)!" Misa tackles you with a bone crushing hug.

"Wait! That means it's settled!" Misa says, breaking the hug.

"Huh?"

"L! You have to play the other part!" Misa pointed at L.

"No"

"Why does L have to do it?" You ask.

"Because the show that we're performing is Romeo and Juliet!" Misa said, flashing you a smile.

Your heart froze. What did you just get yourself into?

"The main parts are obviously Romeo and Juliet. (Y/N), you agreed that you would play one of the main parts, so it only makes sense that you play Juliet and L plays Romeo, since you l-"

You quickly cover Misa's mouth before she reveals your secret.

"I GET IT! I GET IT!" You yelp.

"I'm not doing that", L states.

"Why not?!" Misa shouts.

"I have more important things to do".

"You're so lame!!" Misa shouts.

"I know".

"Come on Ryuzaki! It'll be fun!" Matsuda says.

"Do I really look like the type of person who would perform on a stage?" L asked.

It was silent for a moment.

"Exactly".

"Please L? For me? I'll buy you as much sugar as you want!" You say.

"Are you trying to bribe me (Y/N)?" L asks.

"Please? It can't be that bad".

"Why are you so insistent on me playing this part anyway?" L asks.

"Uh...Well..."

"Come on L!" Misa shouts.

L sighs.

"Fine...If it'll get all of you to stop annoying me", he says.

You slightly gasp. He actually agreed to do it.

"YAY!" Misa jumped up and down.

"But I am only doing this once. And (Y/N), you better get me lots of cake after this", L says, giving you a serious look.

"Sure. As much as you want", you reply.

You were still quite taken aback.
You and L, as Romeo and Juliet?
It was like a dream come true!

Your cheeks go slightly red at the thoughts.

"You okay (Y/N)? Your cheeks are going red", L says.

"Oh! Yeah! I'm just a little nervous", you reply, rubbing the back of your neck.

"This is gonna be so cute!" Misa squealed.

L tilted his head in confusion. He obviously didn't know the plot of Romeo and Juliet, and you didn't wanna tell him because he would probably reject the offer and you really want L to be Romeo.

You stand on Misa's toes to get her to shut up.

"You gotta try on your costumes right now!" Misa said, grabbing both you and L and dragging the two of you all the way to the theatre.

-Soon-

"I am not wearing that"

"Hey, you agreed L! You have to wear it!" Misa said, waving a fancy costume in L's face.

You let them argue as you left for the changing rooms to change into your costume.

"You didn't tell me I had to wear that", L stated.

"I thought it was obvious for someone like you!" Misa said.

-Soon (again)-

"I'm ready!" You call from the changing room.

"Awesome (Y/N)! Come out and let us see!" Misa shouts.

You take a deep breath and walk out the door.

"For the last time, I am NOT wearing th-"

L stopped mid-sentence as he turned to look at you.

"It's a little bit tight around the waist, but it'll do", you say, smiling nervously.

"It looks great on you (Y/N)!" Misa squealed, clapping her hands.

"Agreed", Mogi states.

"Thanks guys", you say, slightly blushing as you turn to L.

"L, you're silent. Does it look bad?" You ask.

You notice L's cheeks had turned a pale pink colour and he started fidgeting a little.

"I-It looks great. You look fantastic in it", he said, his blush going slightly darker.

"Thank you", you giggle as your blush goes darker too.

"Alright, give me that", L says, snatching the costume out of Misa's hands and heading off to the changing rooms.

"He totally likes you back (Y/N)", Misa whispered to you.

"You think so?" You ask.

"Hell yeah! Didn't you see the look on his face when he saw you?! He was blushing! It was noticeable too! He was also fidgeting! I mean, how much more of a confession do we need?!"

"W-Well..."

"This couldn't have gone any better!" Misa said.

"I'm still really nervous though", you say.

"Don't be. This is your once in a lifetime opportunity to be with L! Why blow it?!" Misa squealed.

"But what if something goes wrong?" You say, worried.

"Don't worry (Y/N)! Everything will be fine! Mogi and I have got it all under control!" Misa says, flashing the OK sign.

You nod as L comes back out the changing room, dressed in some fancy looking suit.

"As much as I hate this type of clothing, it's comfortable", L says to Misa

"Great!" Misa says.

"It looks really good on you L", you say.

L tensed up a little as he turned to look at you, his face going a pale pink colour again.

"You think so? I don't really know..."

"Nonsense! You look awesome!" You say, smiling.

"Thank you (Y/N)", L looked at the ground.

"Now that you know the costumes fit, you have to learn all the lines!" Misa said.

"How long will that take exactly?" L asked.

"As long as it takes for you to remember them all", Misa says handing you and L a script.

"Do I really have to say these things?" L asked.

"Yep!" Misa says.

L mumbled something under his breath.
You watch as your face goes pink again. L's too.

"With a brain like the two of yours, it should be no problem for you!" Misa says to the two of you.

"I could probably remember this in an hour or two if I keep at it!" You say.

"Yes, I should have it remembered in about 7 minutes if I analyse it well", L said.

"Good!" Misa said. "Because the show is right around the corner and you guys have to be prepared!"
