L's Pov

"Why do I have to do this again?" I ask.

"Because it's obvious that you really like (Y/N), so you gotta show it to her", Light replied.

"Can't I just tell her?"

"No! If you just straight up tell her how you feel, it'd be too boring and she'd most likely reject you. You gotta play it cool Ryuzaki", Light said.

"I don't think that's a good idea", I reply. "I'm going back to work".

I left Light and made my way back to my seat and sat down. I began to type on the keyboard as I hear footsteps coming towards me.

"Hey Ryuzaki! I finished all the reports for you!"

I turn around to see (Y/N) carrying a bunch of papers to my desk.

"Thank you very much", I say, taking the reports from her and beginning to look through them.

(Y/N) sat down next to me.

"Anything else I could do for you Ryuzaki?" She asked.

"There is one thing..."

"What's that?"

"Could you get me another cup of coffee?"

"Haha! Sure!"

(Y/N) got up and left to make some coffee. As I was flicking through the reports, I soon noticed Light throw himself into (Y/N)'s seat making me jump a little. I turned to find him glaring at me.

"What's wrong Light?" I ask.

"You know what's wrong!" He replied. "You're not gonna get anywhere if you don't put in the effort!"

"I don't see why you have to interfere with my problems", I reply.

"Use a pick up line on (Y/N), and I'll buy you a cake next time I'm out with Misa".

My eyes lit up.

"Strawberry shortcake?" I ask.

"If that's what you want".

I sigh, giving in. Watari had been extra busy so I hadn't had a lot of cake these days.

"Fine. You win", I say, standing up.

I caught Light doing a victory celebration to himself.

"I'm not doing this for you", I say.

I approached (Y/N) who was beginning to add sugar cubes to my coffee.

'This is stupid', I thought to myself. 'But if I'm getting cake out of this then...'

I leaned and put my hand on the wall in front of (Y/N).
I kinda caught her by surprise as she flinched a little.

"Say, did Santa come early this year? Cause you're the first on my list", I say, in a slightly more flirty tone.

'Why am I even doing this?'

"H-Huh?!" (Y/N) turned to face me.

I leaned in closer to her.

"But I'm wondering...Are you naughty, or nice?"

(Y/N) stumbled and knocked over a cup of coffee.

"Oh no!" She said, grabbing a cloth to clean up the spilled coffee.

"Uh oh. Sorry about that", I say.

"D-Don't worry about it", (Y/N) said.

"Goodness, is it hot in here? Or is it just you, (Y/N)?" I say.

"Wh-Why are you-?"

"If you were a cake, I'd definitely choose you first".

"R-Ryuzaki! Why are you doing this?"
(Y/N) turned to face me, her face bright red!

'I guess it's working? But I don't want to keep doing this'.

I look over to Light who gave me a thumbs up.

"They call me L, but you can call me yours tonight", I say the last pick up line.

(Y/N) hid her face with her hands and squealed.

I think I scared her.

"S-Sorry", I say to her. "This was all Light's idea. I apologise if I scared you".

(Y/N) took her hands away from her face.

"So...Light told you to say those things?"

"Yes".

"Why did you go along with it?"

"Isn't it obvious? Because I like you (Y/N)".

"R-Really?"

I nod.

"So...you were being serious?"

"Yes".

(Y/N) just stood there to let that sink in, before leaping at me to try and hug me.

"N-No hugs!" I say, backing away.

(Y/N) giggled, before kissing my cheek.

"If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put U and I together", (Y/N) whispered in my ear in a slightly flirty tone.
It made me flinch.

(Y/N) walked off back to her seat to work, and left me standing there in shock.

Light came over to me.

"Good job Ryuzaki! You did it!" He said, but stopped when he saw my face.

"Hey, at least you know she likes you back".
