(Y/N)'s Pov

"Good morning Ryuzaki!" I say, sitting next to L and switching on my laptop.

"Good morning (Y/N)", L replied.

"Any news on Kira?"

"None so far. It's depressing, really. I can't progress any further with what I have". L looked at his feet.

"Hey, it's okay", I roll my chair over to L and wrap an arm around his shoulders. "We just have to work harder. If we stick to it, I'm certain we'll find more clues!" I say with enthusiasm trying to cheer L up.

L looked up at me and gave me a sad smile. I return the smile.

"Thank you for the encouragement (Y/N)", L said. "Better get back to work then". He started typing away on his laptop.

"Good", I giggle.

I like to see L like this. Sometimes, L can get a little frustrated, but I'm always there to help him out and motive him to keep going!
I also really like L too. So seeing him motivated again makes me really happy!

Soon, my friend Maria, who was also working on the case with us, came through with a huge pile of papers.

"Here's the files you asked for Ryuzaki", she said, dumping them on the desk. "Got them done all last night as you requested".

"I can't thank you enough for your help Maria", L said, taking the papers and flipping through them.

"No problem Raven Ryu!" Maria giggled.

"Raven Ryu?" I say, raising an eyebrow.

"It's a nickname I gave Ryuzaki because I think he's-"

My eyes widened a little.

"I-I think we shouldn't get too carried away from work, Maria", I say, putting my hands on the table in front of me and standing up.

"Yes, that's correct", L said.

"Anything else I could do?" Maria asked.

"You could make us some coffee!" I say.

"Yes", L agreed.

"Okay! I'll be back!"

I then spotted Maria get really close to L and put her hands on his shoulders. I notice L tense up slightly.

She then kissed him on the head...

I was taken aback and almost tripped over my chair.

"Hey! There was no need for that!" I shout to her.

She didn't say anything to me. I watch her head off to make coffee, a big smile on her face.

That bitch...

"Sorry about her", I say to L.

"Don't worry about it. Just get her under control. She's getting annoying", L replied.

"Yeah, tell me about it!" I reply.

I just want to punch her right now!

"Why the big reaction (Y/N)?" L asked me.

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

"You seemed to snap quite badly at Maria just a second ago. It wasn't that bad. There was no need for that", L replied.

"I-It's nothing", I say, looking away.
"Sorry".

"I have reason to believe that there is more to it than that", L said, putting his thumb to his lip and giving me a concerned look.

"I-IT'S NOTHING!!" I say, my cheeks heating up.

"Hmm...Well, as you said, we shouldn't get distracted. I want you to keep Maria quiet for me as she is distracting me from my work", L said, turning back to his computer.

"Sure", I say.

Soon, Maria came back in, carrying two cups of coffee.

"Here you are Raven Ryu!" She said, handing him a cup of coffee.

"Thank you", L simply replied.

"No problem!" She squealed.

Maria then took a seat directly next to L. I could see that L was starting to feel pretty uncomfortable around her.

I've had enough!

I also take a seat next to L.

"Don't get too distracted Maria!" I say. "You have work to do too!"

"I just want to spend some time with my Raven Ryu!" Maria whined.

I grit my teeth as I clench my fists. I was reaching breaking point with her!

"You both have work to do", L said.
"Let's not argue".

"I understand", I say.

"Alright then my darling!" Maria said.

My eyes widen as I see Maria wrap her arms around L's neck and kiss his cheek. I saw L flinch afterwards.

How dare she...!

"GRR! DON'T YOU EVER LISTEN?! HE TOLD YOU TO GET BACK TO WORK!!" I snap.

Maria and even L were shocked.

"AND GET YOUR HANDS OFF RYUZAKI!! YOU'RE MAKING HIM FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE!!"

"What?! No I'm not! He's fine with me! Watch!"

Maria turned L to face her. She was about to lock lips with him! I saw L try to back away. It was obvious he wasn't into Maria.

I barge in and push Maria away from L.

"I said: HANDS OFF!" I say, glaring at her and putting my hands on L's shoulders.

"What's with you (Y/N)?!" Maria stood up and clenched her fists. "Why are you being so mean?! I thought we were friends!"

"You're getting way too carried away! You're making Ryuzaki uncomfortable! Now get to work as he said!" I yell, turning to face her.

"No! Don't tell me you have feelings for Ryuzaki too and your jealous!" Maria snickered and folded her arms.

I flinched.

L looked up to me.

"Sh-Shut up! That has nothing to do with this situation right now! Either leave Ryuzaki alone, or I'll make you!"

I could feel the anger build up inside me...
So this is what jealousy feels like...?

"You're such a bitch (Y/N)", Maria said.

What the fuck did she just call me?!

"That's it! I've had it!"

I then throw a hard punch straight across Maria's face, sending her flying to the ground.

"You brought that on yourself. You wouldn't listen, so I gave you a taste of your own medicine", I say, shaking my hand as it kinda hurt punching someone.

L just stared in surprise.

"Wh-What the hell (Y/N)? I thought we were really good friends! I put faith in you!" Maria said, sniffing.

"Oh piss off", I say, folding my arms and rolling my eyes at her.

"YOU'RE HORRIBLE!!" Maria stood up and ran out headquarters crying like the baby she is. I don't need her anymore.

"Well, that was certainly unpleasant to watch", L said after a small silence.

"Yeah, sorry about her", I say, scratching the back of my head.

"There was no need for violence though, (Y/N). You attacked another member of the taskforce. I should have you fired for that", L said sternly.

"I-I really am sorry", I bow to L in shame. "I'll admit, I did get a little carried away".

"However, I won't fire you".

"You won't?!"

"No. You are an excellent member of the taskforce. You're very skilled and honest", L said.

"Well, thank you".

"Plus, you got rid of Maria. I was starting to have my doubts about her. She was more annoying than Misa", L sighed.

I giggle slightly.

"But tell me something (Y/N)...", L began.

"Huh?"

"Do you actually like me? Was all your actions based on jealousy?"

I froze as my cheeks go red.

"Well...you could say that I like you, but-"

"Good...Because I like you too (Y/N)".

"What?!"

"I like-"

"I heard what you said, but...why me?"

"Well, you're smart, polite, and fun to hang around. Also, you're very cute".

My face went even more red.

"You...You mean that?"

"Yes", L stood up and turned to face me. He gently cupped my cheek before pushing his lips against mine, causing me to tense up a little and scream inside at the same time.

L then broke away and stared into my eyes.

"It's also quite adorable seeing you when you get jealous", he said.

"I should get jealous more often then", I giggle.
