(Y/N)'s Pov

"No way! REALLY?!" Misa screeched.

"Yes. I really do have a crush on L", I reply quietly, blushing a little.

"Aww! That's so cute! You so gotta tell him!"

"W-WHAT?!" I turn my full attention to Misa, in shock, before looking at the floor. "There's no way I could ever do that".

"Sure you can", Misa clenched her fist and smirked. "I know you can do it (Y/N)! I'll help you!"

"O-Okay", I started twirling my fingers around each other.

"It's simple. You have to compliment him", Misa said.

"I really can't do that!" I say.

"Stop being such a wuss (Y/N)! All you gotta do is say something nice to L. Come on!" Misa grabbed my arm and led me downstairs into the main room of the taskforce.

The room was just as you would expect; Everyone working hard on the Kira case.

I saw L stacking sugar cubes on a table, whilst he was watching the monitors in front of him displaying the Yotsuba group.

"This is your chance (Y/N)!" Misa said.

"Are you sure about this?" I asked, very nervous.

"Positive! Now remember what I said. Compliment him! If L feels the same way about you, his cheeks will definitely go a bright red!" Misa pushed me a little.

Here goes nothing.

To be honest, this sounded really pointless. But I do want to find out how L feels about me too.

"H-Hi Ryuzaki", I say, walking over to L and sitting next to him.

"Good afternoon (Y/N)", L replied in his usual monotone voice.

I looked back at Misa, who was watching me. She gave me the thumbs up and I turned back around and took a deep breath.

"So...Ryuzaki...You...smell nice today...did you use a new shampoo?"

I felt my cheeks heat up at my sudden comment. Why am I even doing this?! This is so stupid! I feel like an idiot!

L turned to look at me and then tilted his head in confusion at the way I was acting.

"Thank you for the compliment", L turned back to his sugar stacking, whilst I turned back to Misa, making a signal to show that I was not going to be able to do this. She just made a signal to try something like a poem or verse to make it better.

I thought for a moment before saying:

"Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
And so are you!"

That had to be the most cheesy thing I had ever said!

L didn't turn to me this time, but I caught his sugar cube stacking go slower than before. Was it working?

If it was, I had to continue!

"You know something Ryuzaki? You look almost exactly like a panda, and pandas are really cute! That makes you cute too!"

Sweat started dripping from my forehead. I really wanted to die right now!

I saw L tense up a little, but he didn't say anything. I bet he cringed.

Wait! Is he blushing?!

It was too faint to properly see though. I had to keep going!

I had managed to gain a little more confidence. I took a deep breath, my face going more red.

I rolled my chair over to L and ran my fingers through his hair. L tensed up again and I heard a small gasp escape his lips.

"Your hair is so soft! I like it", I say.

"Th-Thank you", L replied.

He stuttered!

"Ryuzaki, stop being so hot! You're so hot!" I say, turning to look at the floor.

Where the hell did that come from?!
I felt my cheeks get even more hot!

I look back to L to see he had completely stopped stacking sugar cubes.

His face was going a darker red.

He slowly turned to look at me.

"When you get all embarrassed like that, it makes you look even cuter!" I say.

I noticed L cover his mouth before standing up.

"Excuse me", he said, before leaving the room and heading upstairs.

I got out of my seat and rushed to Misa.

"Where did that come from?!" She asked, amazed.

"I really don't know!" I say. "But I think I scared him".

"You didn't (Y/N)", he's just really embarrassed!" Misa said. "That's what we wanted to see! He likes you back! I'm sure of it! Go follow him!"

"I think I should probably give L some sp-"

"Go!"

"Fine."

I sigh and make my way upstairs.
I found L on the first floor sitting on the floor in his usual position.

"H-Hey, Ryuzaki?" I slowly walk over to him.

He tensed up and tried to hide his face in his knees.

"I'm sorry about that", I say, fiddling with my (H/C) hair. "It was a bit weird, even for me. I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable".

"No...It's okay", L said quietly. "I've just...never heard anyone say anything like that to me...so I wasn't quite sure how to react".

I simply nodded at him.

"D-Did you mean it?" L asked, looking up at me.

"H-Huh?! Oh! Well, it was sort of like a prank but-"

"That's a shame", L cut me off.

"What?"

"I think there is a 94.72% chance that I have feelings for you (Y/N)".

"Huh?!"

L stood up and pulled me into a tight hug.

I was still in shock but I soon returned the hug. I was so relieved that L returned my feelings.

I gave L a small kiss on the cheek, startling him.

"I really like you L!" I say.

"I really like you too (Y/N)", L replied.
