(Y/N)'s Pov

"No! Please stop it!"

I was down on the ground, unable to move!

"You BITCH!!"

My ex was attacking me again!

Punching, kicking, pulling out my (H/C) hair.

"HOW COULD YOU?!"

What was he attacking me for? Because I sent a text to another guy. L to be exact. But we were just friends! I already told him this, but he wouldn't listen to me!

My ex was just too stupid to see that!

He soon pinned me against a wall by my neck.

"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!" He yelled at me.

Tears were streaming down my face. I wanted to defend myself, but I was just too weak to do anything!

My ex then threw me across the room.
I landed with a THUD on the floor, and my phone fell out my pocket.

He walked over to it and stood on it.

"No...!" I whimpered.

"YOU'RE GETTING WHAT YOU DESERVE!!" He yelled.

And with that, he made his way to the front door, before looking at me in disgust and saying:

"That'll teach you not to start talking to other guys! Bye, bitch!"

Then he left...

I was just laying there...my eyes slowly closing...as I fell into unconsciousness...

L's Pov

"Hey Ryuzaki, I've gathered some more reports", Light said to me. "But I won't be able to get them all filed tonight. Not without some extra help".

"I understand. I'll give (Y/N) a call and tell her to come over and help out", I reply.

"But isn't (Y/N) supposed to be finished for today?"

"Yes, but there is no one else who could help you at this exact moment, so I'll call (Y/N)", I say, reaching for my phone and dialling (Y/N)'s number.

I got no response...

'That's odd. (Y/N) always answers when I call her. Maybe she's gone to bed', I thought.

"She not picking up?" Light asked.

"No. I guess I'll just have to go over to her house and have her file these reports there", I say, picking up some reports and heading out.

"But what if she's asleep! You can't just walk into a girl's house like that!" Light said.

"This is urgent. And I have no other choice. And besides, I'll have Watari to take me to (Y/N)'s house", I say, walking out of the headquarters.

Light sighed.

I hopped into Watari's car which was already parked outside. He drove me to (Y/N)'s house.

When I got there, I knocked on the front door. It opened...!

'That's strange', I thought.

"(Y/N)?" I called.

No answer.

'Maybe she is asleep', I thought. 'But to leave her front door open?'

I walk inside and make my way to (Y/N)'s living room.

My eyes widened with shock...

I dropped my reports and ran over to (Y/N) who was lying passed out on the floor. She was covered in bruises and cuts and her head was bleeding!

I slowly backed away from her and then rushed to the front door.

"WATARI!!" I yelled.

"What's wrong?!" He asked, a look of shock on his face.

"Quickly, call an ambulance! (Y/N)'s passed out on the floor and she has a head wound! She's also covered in bruises and cuts!" I shout. I couldn't help but panic!

(Y/N) was...the only person I liked more than just a friend...

I...can't let this happen to her...

(Y/N)'s Pov

"Ugh..."

I slowly open my eyes to find myself in a hospital.

"What the-?"

"Good. You're awake. I was worried".

I turn my head to see L sitting, in his usual position, in a chair next to me.

"L...What happened...?" I ask quietly.

"I came over to hand you some reports that needed filing. Your front door was open, so I let myself in. It was then when I found you passed out on the floor, covered in bruises and cuts with a head wound. I had Watari call an ambulance and we got you here as soon as we could", L replied.

"L...Thank you..." I manage to say.

"I was so glad when I found out your head wound wasn't that bad. It was only a small cut", L said, letting out a sigh of relief and smiling at me.

I give him a small smile back.

"Do you know how this happened in the first place (Y/N)?" L asked me, a serious but worried look on his face now.

My smile disappeared...

I turned my head away from L as tears formed in my eyes.

"Did you collapse?"

I shook my head.

"Yes, that wouldn't explain the bruises and cuts", L said, putting a finger and thumb to his chin.

"Is someone hurting you...?"

I then began crying at those words...

"(Y/N)!" L's voice became louder and more serious.

I nodded slowly.

L then didn't say anything. I turn my head to look at him. He was looking at his feet. And he looked really pissed! I could see the rage running through his veins.

"Who...Who's hurting you (Y/N)?!" L asked, through gritted teeth.

"L...Calm down...There's no need to-"

"NO!!" L smacked his fist against the wall next to him, causing the wall to get a small crack in it. I flinched.

"I'll ask again...Who! Is! Hurting! You!"

It looked like one of those scenes from an anime, where a character gets so pissed off that their eyes go red! I got really scared!

"It's...my ex..." I say to L.

"Him...?! I've always hated him...!" L clenched his fists. "He'll get what's coming to him!! I'll make him pay for hurting you (Y/N)!!" He then looked up at me and I could see tears forming in his eyes as he said those words.

"L...There's no need to do that for me..."

L then grabbed my hand and held it tight.

"I don't want you to suffer like this (Y/N)!" He said.

"I...I love you!"

My eyes widened again as I blushed a little.

I smiled back at him.

"I love you too L...thank you".

And with those words, L leaned towards me and we shared a sweet kiss, before L pulled away and stroked my (H/C) hair and said:

"I'll protect you from that monster. I won't let him hurt you again".
