I also do NOT wish to offend anyone with this oneshot!

"Are you sure you're okay walking around in public with me?" You said to L.

He was pushing you in a wheelchair. Recently, you had gotten caught in a serious accident and lost both of your legs. You were still haunted by what happened that day, but you still wanted to work hard on the Kira case and try and move forward.

"Yes. You haven't been out a lot recently, so I decided to take you out. It's a nice day too", L replied.

"Who are you and what have you done with L? This isn't like you at all", you say, giggling a little.

"I just want you to be happy. After that accident, things haven't been easy for you", L said, his tone not changing.

"Yeah..." you whisper, looking at your hands.

"Sorry...I didn't mean to make you upset".

"It's okay", you say.

"Would you like some ice cream?" L asked.

You look up to see a small ice cream cart in front of you.

"You don't have to buy anything for me".

"Are you sure?"

"Well..."

"I knew it. Which flavour would you like?"

"Hmm...I'll have (F/F)!"

"Good choice".

L pushed you up to the ice cream cart and bought the ice cream for the both of you.

"Thank you Ryuzaki!" You say, eating your ice cream.

"It's not a problem", he replied. "We should probably be getting back to the taskforce now".

You nod.

-Soon-

"Welcome back you two!" Matsuda said, giving the two of you a warm smile.

"Hi!" You say, returning the smile.

"Would you like some tea?" Matsuda offered.

"Sure!" You replied.

"Yes", L said.

Matsuda left to make the tea.

"Hey (Y/N)! Guess what?!" You soon spot Misa coming over to you and L.

"What is it?" You say.

"I bought tickets to see (F/B)! Wanna come with me?"

Your eyes lit up.

"R-Really?!" I'D LOVE TO!!"

You and Misa started squealing and giggling.

"You guys don't have to do these things for me", you say, catching your breath.

"What do you mean?" Misa asked.

"Ever since the accident I was in, you all have been extremely kind to me".

"As I said before, we just want you to be happy again", L said to me. "It's hard to go through life after something like that has happened".

"I know. But I don't want you to treat me like a different person. I'm still (Y/N). I may have lost my legs, but I haven't lost who I really am. And I don't want you all panicking to try and make me happy either. I just want things to be the way they were. I'm happy just being around you guys. I am greatful for you all putting in the effort though. But there really is no need to do that for me".

It was silent for a moment.

"I understand", L said.

"Sorry if we got a little too carried away", Misa said.

"It's okay. I will still go to the (F/B) concert with you Misa", you say.

Misa's eyes lit up.

"You will?! GREAT!!"

"Better get back to work", you roll your wheelchair by yourself over to your computer and began to work.

"She's such a strong woman", Misa said to L.

"(Y/N) has always been like that", L said, looking at his feet.

"You're lucky to have each other", Misa said.

"It-It's not like that..." L said, his cheeks going slightly red.

Misa giggled a little.

-Time Skip-

It was getting really late and everyone had left to go to bed. It was only you and L that were working, but you were starting to get sleepy.

"(Y/N), maybe you should rest in a more comfortable place", L suggested, not taking his eyes of his computer.

"It's fine. I can pull an all nighter! I have to make sure that all these victims match up!" You say, scanning through your computer.

"I understand", L replied.

-Another Time Skip-

"(Y/N), I'll need you to file these reports for me", L said.

No response.

"(Y/N)? I'm talking to you", L turned to face you.

"Oh, she fell asleep on the desk".

L put his thumb to his lip and just watched you sleep for a moment.

"It's not a good idea to sleep here. She'll hurt her back and her head".

L got up and carefully lifted you up, back into the wheelchair and began to push you to the chairlift that were next to the stairs. Once you were in, L took you up to your floor.

Once you were up the stairs, L pushed you to your room.

"This is the difficult part. I don't want to hurt (Y/N) since she's sleeping", L said.

He lifted you up, carefully supporting you so he didn't hurt you.

He may have not hurt you, but he woke you up.

"Ryuzaki..." you say, sheepishly.

"Sorry. Am I hurting you?" L asks.

"No. You're doing fine", you say, trying to calm him down a bit.

L gently lay you down in your bed and tucked you in.

"Sorry for waking you up", L said.

"Stop apologising. It's okay", you reply with a smile.

"I'll let you sleep now. If you need anything-"

"Push the button on the remote and you'll be straight there", you say, gesturing to a small remote that sat on your bedside table. "I know".

"Correct", L said. "Well then. Goodnight".

L leaned in and kissed your forehead.

"Goodnight", you say, smiling at the raven haired boy.
