(Y/N)'s Pov

I was very confused right now. L had sent me a text telling me to dress nicely, as he plans on taking me out somewhere.

Had someone hacked into L's account or something? This wasn't like him.
I didn't reply to the text, just in case it wasn't actually him, but I soon heard my phone ring.

It was L.

I hesitated, but I answered it.

"H-Hello?" I ask.

"Hello (Y/N). Why didn't you reply to my message? You can tell me if you have other plans, you know".

It was L's voice.

"So wait! You're serious about taking me out?" I ask him.

"I wouldn't ask you if I wasn't serious", L replied in a serious tone.

I sigh. "I guess you're right".

"Are you planning on coming, or do you have other plans?" L asked me.

"Yeah, I'll get ready now", I say to him.

"Alright. I'll be waiting. Try and be ready in the next half hour", L said, before hanging up.

Okay, either that guy wasn't L and was just putting on a very good accent, or L's gone insane. L never leaves the taskforce building. Why would he choose to leave now? It's not like him!

I shake my thoughts away and head over to my wardrobe. I pulled out a nice outfit that I had in there that I hadn't worn in ages. It was perfect for a date.

Once I was finished getting dressed, I straightened my hair and put on a little bit of make up. Not much though, I didn't wanna over do it.

I managed to finish a little later than L had requested me to. I panicked and grabbed my coat and handbag and rushed out the door.

I spotted L waiting by Watari's car. He was dressed really nicely. He was wearing a suit! I tried to keep my inner fangirl in, but I was struggling a lot.

L spots me and smiles.

"(Y/N). You look beautiful..."

I blushed at his comment. "Y-You shouldn't say things like that in such a straightforward manner", I stutter, looking at the ground.

"I think I over did mine", L says, looking at his outfit.

"What are you talking about?! You look amazing! Like always!" I say, laughing like a weirdo.

"Thank you (Y/N)", L says, giving me a small smile.

The two of us climb into the car, and Watari drives us to wherever they hell we were going.

When we arrived, I was quite surprised.

"What is this?" I ask.

"As a way to thank you for all your hard work (Y/N), Watari and I agreed that I would take you out to dinner", L says.

"Whoa! Wait! Hold the bus!" I say, waving my hands around, causing L to chuckle a bit. "What?! Why would you do that for me?"

L looked straight at me. "Because I have fallen for you (Y/N)", he said, his expression not changing in the slightest.

I blushed madly at those words. 'He just bluntly came out and said it!'

"Come on. Let's go (Y/N)", L says, holding his arm out for me. I take it and he leads me into the restaurant in front of us.

"I have arranged for private seats", L says, leading me to a different part of the restaurant.

"Whoa! Fancy!" I say looking around.

"This is actually a V.I.P spot", L said to me. "I had Watari pay for it. I am 98% certain that no one else would be in here today. We're the only people here, so we can talk about whatever you like without anyone else interfering".

"You didn't have to waste money on me! I would have been fine sitting anywhere!" I say. I don't like when people spend all their money on me. It makes me feel bad!

"I haven't wasted money on you", L says. "I don't like being around other people, and you know that. So this works for both of us".

Oh yeah. I forgot about that.

"Now then (Y/N), please sit down", L says, sitting in his usual awkward position in a seat, near the walls.
I sit down opposite him and look through the menu on the table. Everything sounded really good and, to be honest, I was really hungry so I would eat anything at this moment!

The waitress soon came in and asked for our orders.

"I'll have a piece of your strawberry shortcake, 4 crepes with chocolate sauce, and 7 doughnuts with your chocolate and toffee dips" L said calmly. "I'll also have 3 packets of sugars, please".

The waitress and I just stared at him, like he spoke a language neither of us had heard. I knew how much L loved sweets, but that was a LOT! He wasn't gonna eat all of that by himself, was he? He'll get sick!

"O-okay", The waitress stuttered and turned to me. "And what about you ma'am".

"Uh...I'll have your roasted duck", I say politely.

"Coming right up!" The waitress wrote down our orders on a piece of paper before asking us, "Can I get you anything to drink?"

"Can I have a crushed Oreo milkshake?" I ask.

"Of course", the waitress says, writing it down. "Anything for you sir?"

L shook his head, but he looked at me like he was planning something.

"Alright. I'll be back with your food in a second!" The waitress soon left.

"You not gonna drink anything?" I ask.

"I'm not thirsty", L says, smirking at me.

What's gotten into him?

"By the way, are you seriously gonna eat all of what you ordered? You're gonna get sick", I say.

"There's no need to worry. I'll happily share my sweets with you (Y/N)", he replied.

I blush and look away. L never shares his sweets.

-Lil Time Skip-

The waitress comes back with our orders.

I begin tucking into my roasted duck, whilst L begins dipping doughnuts in toffee sauce and licking it off, staring at me the whole time, and smiling at me as he does it.

"Are you trying to turn me on or something?" I ask, blushing.

"Huh? Oh! No..." L says, biting into the doughnut and looking away from me.

He so was. I'm sure of it.

I shake the thoughts away and reach for my milkshake. As I go to drink from the straw, L places another one inside the cup and begins sipping the milkshake from it, as soon as my lips touch my straw. I blush again, but I sip the milkshake along with L.

Eventually, we both stop and carry on eating our food.

"So that's why you didn't order anything to drink", I say, giggling.

"Yes. I predicted an 89% chance that you would order a milkshake, so I decided I wanted to share it with you", L says, blushing at me and smiling.

I giggle again at his cuteness, and continue to eat my food, until there was nothing left.

I just decided to watch L eat his food. He had finished the doughnuts, and began tucking into the crepes.

He noticed me staring at him, and stopped eating.

"Would you like some dessert (Y/N)?" L asks, smirking at me.

"Oh! Well...those crepes do look good", I say.

Without hesitation, L picks up a piece of a crepe on his fork and puts it to my mouth.

"Open your mouth (Y/N)", L says.

I blush even more than I had already been doing earlier, as I open my mouth and L feeds me the crepe.

"How does it taste?" L asks.

"Very good", I say, as I cover my mouth and make eye contact with another table.

-Another Time Skip-

L had finished all his sweets, so me and him proceeded to drink my milkshake until there was nothing left.

"Looks like it's time to go", L says, standing up.

"Let me go and pay!" I say to him.

"It's fine. Watari is paying for it", L says.

"Don't get Watari to do everything! I'm paying next time!" I shout at him as we walk out the restaurant.

We get back into Watari's car and he drives us back to HQ.

"Thanks for today L", I say, turning to face him. "I had fun", I give him a smile.

"I'm glad", L replies, smiling back.

"So...did you mean what you said about...falling for me?" I ask, teasing him, whilst also blushing myself.

"Of course I did", he chuckles.

I giggle as we both lean in and our lips connect. L puts his hand behind my head and pushes it to deepen our kiss as I wrap my arms around his neck.
