(Y/N)'s Pov

The car pulled up outside a big building, where the prom was being held.

Light and Misa climbed out of the car and immediately walked into the building together. Light looked like he wanted to die though.

L climbed out and held his hand out for me. I blush a little, taking it as he leads me into the building.

The room was packed with people. I started to feel a little awkward because of this. I felt L squeeze my hand.

"Don't be scared (Y/N)", L whispers to me, giving me a reassuring smile. "I'm here".

I smile back at him and nod.

We spot Light and Misa sitting at a table, and we go and sit with them.

Soon, Cotton Eyed Joe started playing through the speakers.

"What a tune!" I yell, running onto the dance floor, gesturing for the others to come and join me.

"Come on!" Misa says, dragging Light onto the dance floor with her.

L continued to sit there. I made him the puppy dog eyes, which immediately got to him. He got up and came over to join us.

The 4 of us started dancing and laughing like idiots, including L.
It was hilarious!

After what felt like forever of the 4 of us dancing to party anthems, the music soon changed into a 'slow dance' sort of song.

"Oh shit..." I whispered to myself, before scurrying away to our table. I hated slow dancing and I wasn't very good at it.

I almost reached the table, before I was stopped by L.

"(Y/N), would you like to dance with me?" He held out his hand.

I hesitated and stepped back a bit.

"Are you okay (Y/N)?" L asked, looking worried

"I...just...can't do it" I whisper quietly to him. I turn away and slightly blush.

L gave me a small smile.

"(Y/N), it doesn't matter if you're good at it or not. I have never done it before, and I would love to share my first experience with you", L says.

I look at him and blush, as I start to fiddle with my hair.

As much as I really hated slow dancing, it was with L, which is a once in a lifetime opportunity! I couldn't refuse!

"Alright..." I say quietly, taking L's hand.

We walk back onto the dance floor together. I became a blushing mess and try to hide my face with my hand, but L pulls it away and looks into my eyes.

"You agreed to do this. Now you have to pay the price", L says smirking at me.

I pout at him and playfully hit his arm.

L grabs my hand and his fingers intertwined with mine. I placed my other hand on his shoulder, while he puts his other hand on my hip.

"Am I doing this right?" L asked, looking a bit worried.

"Yeah, don't worry!" I giggle.

"That's good then" L says, smiling.

The two of us start dancing, but we literally had no idea where to put our feet and we kept stumbling and standing on each other's toes. We were enjoying ourselves though, laughing and giggling at each other's stupidity. I couldn't really believe that L was actually showing an emotional side towards me as well. That made me really happy!

As we were dancing, I slowly spotted Light and Misa dancing too. Light looked like he wanted to kill himself, whilst Misa was having the time of her life. I laughed at how funny the sight was.

As I turned around to face L, I slipped on something on the floor, causing me to fall over.

I squeal, waiting for the impact as I fall, but it didn't hit me. Instead, I feel L's arm wrap around me and pull me back up.

Everyone was staring at us, which made me feel more uncomfortable. I blush madly as L and I stare at each other.

"That was close. Are you alright (Y/N)?" L asks.

"Y-Yeah", I say, panting as I almost passed out. "Thank you".

"Let's go and sit down", L said, grabbing my hand and taking me back to our table. Not long after, Light and Misa came to join us.

"That was so cute!!" Misa says, clapping her hands at L and I.

"That was so embarrassing..." I say, looking away, resting my elbow on the table, and my chin on my hand.

"That could have been a nasty fall. I'm glad I caught you just in time", L says, in a serious tone.

I blush more, and try to change the subject.

"How about I go grab us some drinks?" I ask, getting up.

"Alright then. How about we just get a bottle of wine, and we can all share it?" Light asks. "It'll make things easier".

"Sure!" Misa says.

"I'll pass", L says.

I knew L wouldn't have any alcoholic drinks. But I walk over to the bar to get the wine for Light, Misa and myself.

As I was waiting for the bartender to get our wine, I felt someone touch my butt. I squeal and quickly turn around to find a bunch of men surrounding me, trying to touch my chest.
I cover my chest and squeal again.

"YOU PERVERTS!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!" I yell.

Not soon after, I see L, Light and Misa come over to help me. Light threw punches at one guy, whilst Misa was pulling on another guy's hair and threw her knee to his face.

"PERVERTS!!" Misa yelled.

"Show some respect, you creeps!!" Light said.

L came over to me and hugged me tightly.

"Are you okay (Y/N)?! Did they hurt you?!" His tone was a mixture of anger and worry.

"They only touched my butt, but they tried to grab at my chest", I say, blushing madly.

L was in shock.

"We should leave", he says to me.

I nod and we were about to walk out, when the last guy grabbed my arm and pulled me out of L's grasp.

"Hey there little lady. Why are you hanging around with that scruffy creep? You should be with me". The weirdo said, his face inches away from mine.

"Let her go! NOW!!" L yells. "I don't like to get violent, but I will if I have to! Put. (Y/N). DOWN!!"

"Why would I do that?!" The man says. He started to lick my cheek, causing me to scream.

About as quick as you could say his name, L ran over to the man and kicked him square in the jaw, causing him to fall over. L caught me and held me tightly.

"You're disgusting!" He said. "Let's go (Y/N)!"

L picked me up bridal style and carried me outside to Watari's car.
Light and Misa following closely behind. We didn't even care that everyone was staring at us.

"I'm sorry I let that happen to you (Y/N)", L says, as we climb into the car. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that as well".

"Stop apologizing!" I say. "You did nothing wrong!" I grab L's hand and hold it tightly. "Thank you for helping me. You too, Light and Misa!" I turn to the two who smile at me. "I had great time apart from that!"

"I'll make it up to you", L says, pulling me into his chest and stroking my (H/C) hair.

"L...Not in the car..." I whisper and giggle, blushing a little.

"What? It's not like anyone is going to take you away from me", he replies.

I blush madly and make a weird, embarrassed noise, causing everyone to laugh at me.

L kisses the top of my head, and Watari turns on the radio.

"Oh my god I love this song!" I yell.

It was (F/S)!

"I like this song too!" Misa yelled. The two of us started singing the song all the way back to HQ, while the boys just laughed at us.
