So, the case everyone was working on was taking a lot longer than you thought. You decided that everyone should take a day off, just so they can clear their minds, and they agreed. Although, it took a lot a lot of persuading to get L to agree. He did agree eventually.

You decided on a day at the beach and everyone agreed. Again, it took a lot of persuading to get L to agree, but he did eventually.

"This is gonna be so much fun!" Misa squealed, running with you to the doors of the taskforce. "It's been ages since I last went to the beach!"

"I know! Me too!" You say, giggling with the blonde girl.

"Alright! Looks like we've got everything. Everybody ready to go?" Light came over to join you two.

"Hell yeah!!" You and Misa yell, punching the air.

"Alright, let's go", L said in a very uninterested tone, walking over to the three of you. He was carrying a laptop under his arm.

"L, you can't take a laptop to the beach with you!" Misa says, putting her hands on her hips.

"Why not?" L says.

"Well, it might get wet", you say to him.

"Don't worry, it's waterproof", L replies. "Now are we going or what?"

"Come on L! Don't be so boring! Lighten up for once! It's supposed to be fun!" Misa says.

"Hahaha! LIGHTen up!" You say, playfully hitting Light's arm, laughing.

"Oh my god! Hahaha!" Misa started laughing too.

"That was not funny", Light said.

"Stop acting like children, or I'm not going", L says.

You and Misa soon stop laughing.

"Alright, let's go!" Misa said. Soon, you all make your way out the doors and to the beach.

-Time Skip to the beach!-

"Come on (Y/N)! Let's go in the water!" Misa yelled, grabbing your arm and pulling you to the water.

You look behind you to see L sitting on one of those beach folding chairs, typing on his laptop. He had one of those big umbrellas blocking the sun out of his face.

"Hold on Misa", you say, getting out of her grasp and walking over to L.

"Are you just gonna sit there this whole time?" You say to him, putting your hands on your hips.

L turned to look you up and down, before turning back to his computer, a little blush spreading across his cheeks.

"Nice swimsuit", he said in his usual monotone voice.

You blush madly and try to cover yourself up.

"Why are you trying to cover yourself up? It was a compliment. I think it looks good on you", L says, his face still in his computer screen.

"Uh...thanks", you say, looking at the ground. You shake your head and return back to your normal serious self.

"Come on! You can't just sit there on that thing all day!" You say, pointing at his laptop.

"I have work to do (Y/N). You go have fun", L said.

You pout at him, then turn his laptop off and grab his arm, pulling him off his chair.

"(Y/N)! What are you doing?!" L shouts at you.

"Life's too short to not have fun!" You say to him, jumping into the water with Misa, then to be joined by Light.

L just stared.

"Come on L! The water is really cool!" You say to him.

"Fine. I guess I don't have a choice", L said, walking into the water.

"So, you're just gonna swim in your clothes?" Misa asked.

"Yes. Is that a problem?" L asked.

"Well...nevermind", she said.

"Hey! Who wants to go surfing?" Light says.

"I do!" Misa yelled, going over to him. The two get out of the water to get their surfboards and then head out to sea.

"This can only end in a disaster", L said, watching the two get onto their surfboards.

You giggle at his statement and end up splashing him with water. L flinched and covered his eyes, almost as if he was crying. But you knew he wasn't.

"Why did you do that?" He asked, staring at you, his black locks, covering his eyes.

"Got you!" You giggle.

L scowled at you and splashed water at you back. You squealed and started laughing. L then gave you a smile as you both had a splashing war.

"See? Fun isn't it?" You say.

"I guess so", L replied.
"When it's with you, that is", he whispered quietly, but you heard him and blushed a little, giggling.

"HEY YOU TWO!! WATCH THIS!!" You hear Misa call out. She was surfing on a massive wave along with Light.

"THAT'S GREAT!" You yell back.

It wasn't really, because soon, Misa fell off her surfboard and into the sea. You gasp.

"I'M OKAY!!" She came up to the surface.

Light was still riding the wave. As the wave got closer to you and L, you thought it was a good idea to get out of the sea. You and L quickly try and make your way out, but before you knew it, the wave crashed into the both of you, and Light came down with a perfect landing.

"That was awesome!" He said.

"For you that is", L got up and started squeezing his shirt, to try and get the water off.

You got up and started laughing. Misa soon came swimming back.

"That was incredible Light!" She says, hugging him.

"You think so?" He asks.

Light and Misa soon walk off, doing there own thing while you just stand there. L sits back on his chair and reads a book.

"Hey L! Wanna build a sandcastle?" You ask.

"No".

"Why not? I thought you liked having fun with me", you say.

L tensed up and covered his face with his book.

"You...heard that?" He asked.

"Yep!" You smirk at him.

"Well...uh..."

"Come on! Please!" You pull at his arm.

"Alright, when you put it that way", L put his book down and came with you. Soon, the two of you were acting like big kids making sandcastles.

"You know something (Y/N), I don't know how you do it, but you seem to make every little thing fun, when no one else can", L said to you, giving you a small smile.

"Huh? Really?" You say, surprised.

"Yes. I'm actually having fun, because of you", he said.

"Oh! Well, I'm glad!" You say, blushing and giggling.

L leaned towards you and kissed your cheek. You blush madly and cover your mouth, trying not to squeal.

L just gave you an adorable smile, before getting up and saying:

"Let's head back"

"Oh okay", You gather your things and run off to get Misa and Light.

Soon, the four of you were walking back to headquarters, soaking wet and covered in sand.

Suddenly, you hear a small tune.

"ICE CREAM!!!" You and Misa yell, dropping your things and running to the van you spot in the corner.

The four of you all get ice cream and walk back eating it. But soon, you end up dropping your ice cream on the ground.

"Dammit!" You shout.

"It's okay (Y/N). Here, you can have mine", L hands you his ice cream, but soon stops.
"(Y/N) You have a little bit of ice cream on your face. Let me wipe it off for you".

Before you could do anything, L licked the ice cream off your cheek.
You squealed and covered your face in embarrassment, only to hear Light laugh and Misa scream.

"I think I got all of it off", L says in his usual monotone voice.

"Uh...Th-Thanks", you stutter.

"Your welcome. Here, have the rest of my ice cream since you dropped yours. I don't mind", L handed you his ice cream which you took with a shaky hand.

"Thank you", you say.

The rest off the walk was basically just Light and Misa making fun of you and trying to embarrass you.

As you got to the taskforce, Light and Misa walked in but L stopped you.

"I had actually had fun today (Y/N). Let's hang out together some other time".

And with that, he walked in, leaving you, a blushing mess, just standing outside squealing.
