Ryuk was standing in the shinigami realm when L appeared with red blazing wings and and a and a grim reaper scythe , he continued to monitor light,as light continued to be kira but Ryuk got really confused ,as why L became a shinigami, but he had remembered it was possible, if a human died, but still had a purpose to be in the world they would come back in the world in a different form. 

As Ryuk passed through into the human world he was thinking what to tell light, if he should tell light , or how to tell light.

Meanwhile L was watching over light, wondering how was it possible that he couldn't figure out that Light was kira, he had suspicions but their friendship was too strong, but L couldn't get past that, every day L thought they were getting closer but maybe L was wrong , maybe it was only L that wanted that friendship.
