Character List for DIMBFFLAD
Hey guys! So here's a quick character list. I know reading on Wattpad is a lot different than reading a published book, and this character list really helps me with my writing, so I figured I'd post it!!

Gossip Death
* * *
ACE – Oh là là. He is the one character who appeared to be detached from all of the other characters, up until recently. He lives in a bookstore with his assistant, Trixie. He is a French, well-off warlock who wields black magic. Like Death, he appears to be one step ahead of every character.
He has colorful hair, wears a bold purple suit and a top hat. Because of a limp, he uses a unique staff with an octagon crystal on the top in order to walk around. He openly told Faith he was evil and he only helps people at a price, just like all of the evil beings in this story.
He can see into the future and communicate with "The Spirits" and is perceived as very powerful. He is the one person who Death knew would help him in Limbo, but how and at what cost? He definitely has a past with Death but has yet to convey that past to Faith.
Death is currently possessing Ace's body. Atticus sent Death's soul to Limbo and he returned to earth through Ace's body.
AHRIMAD (AR--REE-MOD) - (You're welcome.) – An ancient being that Death trapped in his cloak because he tricked Death as a child into freeing him. Ahrimad's corporeal form, according to the memory Faith saw in book 1, is identical to that of David Star's. When Death wears Ahrimad as his cloak, he can quite literally wear Ahrimad's face. Thus, David Star, the alter ego that Death made up for himself, was born.
We are also unsure of his power, although he appears to have been the original Grim Reaper. We do not know why he was trapped in a mirror in the first place. Ahrimad knows other realms very well and Death normally uses him as a guide, whenever he visits Purgatory or Limbo. Death was separated from his cloak when Atticus sent him to Limbo, thus, the "All Powerful" Death is incapable of leaving.
ALEXANDRU (ALEXAND-DREW) – He is a beautiful, golden haired, green-eyed boy, with a large scar on his face. Faith has seen as a child in his memories. From what Faith has gathered, an animal damaged Alexandru's one eye, and when his mother, a black witch, healed him, he could suddenly see into an individual's soul because of the consequences of magic.
We know at this that Alexandru is Death's true identity and he gets very pissy when he is called this. It can be concluded that Death does not want to be reminded of his past self. ☹
ANDREW – We know very little about him. He's Aunt Sarah's boyfriend, who is rude and nobody likes. He is a demon hunter. The last time we saw him, he was fighting off a hellhound with Sarah...
He's currently in Hell. LMFAO.
ANNONA (UH—KNOWN-UH) - Briefly appears in one of Death's memories when he is trapped in Limbo. They met when Death recently transitioned into a demon in his past life and was captured by hunters. Faith has yet to know about this mysterious woman. The relationship between this woman and Death has yet to be established.
ATTICUS (AT—TI—CUSS) – Malphas' loyal bird demon, which, even in bird form (he always fluffs up), seems to like Faith. When Faith calls to Malphas a few chapters back, Atticus is sent to her aid and ships Death to Limbo using black magic, so clearly he is powerful. The relationship between Atticus and Death is not yet developed. However, the two must hate each other, since Atticus sent Death's soul to Limbo.
CRUENTAS (CREWN—TUS) - Death's immortal demon horse that blows fire out of its nostrils like a dragon. We do not know how Death got him. He has red, cynical eyes and is a larger version of a black stallion. His behavior is similar to a dog's and he is loyal to Death.
DAVID STAR – Vice President of the D & S Towers and also a well-known model in Chicago. His image is identical to that of Ahrimad's, but his character "David Star" was actually created by Death. David is Death's alter-ego . Faith and "David Star" went on a date at the beginning of the story and she developed feelings for him along the way. (Feelings for Death, that is.) ;)
DEATH – Is certainly the most multifaceted character introduced thus far. What we know about Death at this point of the story, at least about his past, is actually pretty limited. Well, we know that he smokes and he goes back and forth between "quitting" and not quitting. Not that smoking affects his health or anything, LOL.
His true name is Alexandru. He sometimes plays with his prey because it entertains him. His father was a demi-god and his mother was a witch that withheld black magic, so was Death ever entirely human? In one of his memories in Limbo, he recently transitioned into a demon, but what triggered it?
We know that the original angels in Heaven cursed Death to collect souls and that his identity is concealed because he abused his beauty once he fell to earth. If he does not collect souls as he is supposed to, he will slowly and painfully mummify. He survives off of souls but he must also ingest plenty of human food, in order to function.
Death is over 2000 years old. (Talk about needing a walker, a AAARP card, and a Life Alert necklace...) But, he has remained at the same age (early twenties) for that entire length of time. So, it shouldn't as too much of a shocker that he is still attracted to women (we won't say any names) who are around that age. But did any of you honestly expect him to only favor 60 to 2000 year old women? Come on, now. HA. We've seen a glimpse of a possible love interest of his past, named "Annona".
Appearance-wise, we know that he is 6'5, his physique is faultless and muscular, has many piercings, mismatched green eyes, stubble, fangs (not like a vampire, all of his teeth are pointed in my head), and his features are sharp and angled, according to Faith when she feels his face beneath his hood. Faith saw a glimpse of markings all the way down his abdomen, but that's about all she's seen on him skin-wise. (Yet, hehe.) His voice is deep and accented (an accent he puts on purposely) and he can speak numerous languages. We have yet to see any wings or a halo. Is he really an angel?
We can conclude that, despite his humor, sarcasm, and overall entertaining personality, there is a very damaged person underneath the pseudonym "Death". In one scene, where Death is in the abandoned church with Glenn and the Reapers, Ahrimad reveals to the readers that Death suffers from severe nightmares and takes medication given to him by a "warlock". (Ace?) He is very short-tempered and can be very cruel if he wants to be. He has a very troubled past and although he has the ability to shut down his emotions, he is certainly one of the most emotional characters I have ever written.
His weaknesses? Well, there are many. For starters, his weakness is obviously Faith's panties. (LOL.) But seriously, he has a soft spot for kids and this is very important in regards to his character and his past.
Death's mother, a witch who wielded black magic like Ace, has only appeared once in the story. She has already been portrayed as a very caring person who loved her son. Death shares a lot of her features, including her eyes and (at one point) her golden hair. I've dropped hints that she taught Death a majority of her magic and that he is capable of wielding dark magic as well. He can also possess someone, as he did with Ace in that one chapter when Ace was weakened.
We've gathered that Malphas, a demi-god and a handsome antihero, portrayed as a schemer and a manipulator (sounds familiar), is Death's father, who abused and trained Death into being his "Champion" gladiator. Malphas also taunted Death at the beginning of the story and reminded him that he was the one who killed Death's mother. How Malphas killed his own wife and how they even got together in the first place, we still don't know yet.
At the beginning of the story, we see Death take the form of a cat and he has many qualities about him that are cat-like. He even purrs and licks at Faith like an animal. In the one arena scene, Alexandru takes down the two wild black jaguars. Is there a connection between Death's felineness and his immortality?
If he wanted to, it has been insinuated that Death can take the image of his past self because he took his own life. How and what triggered his suicide, we do not know.
There have been hints as to how Death killed himself, but there is no explanation as to how he can be killed as an immortal.
DEVIN STAR – President of the D & S Towers. Has blonde hair and blue eyes, probably in his early thirties. Alluded that he knew Death was following Faith from the start. He is the fallen angel, Lucifer
FAITH WILLIAMS – Currently seventeen years old. Her birthday is on October 31st, which is coming up shortly in the story. She has until then to sign Death's contract in her blood, or else, according to Death, she will die. (Running out of time!!!)
At this point of the story, Faith acknowledges that she has power but she is unsure how to activate it. She has yet to see the true form of demons and the supernatural around her, as Death warned her would happen at the beginning of the story.
In the earlier chapters, Faith appears to regain a part of Death's face in her mind and draws his eyes, and that is certainly the pivotal moment in regards to her regaining her memories of him.
The pendant around Faith's neck, which belonged to Death's mother and given to her by Ace, is supposed to concentrate her power and somewhat help her channel it. It blocks Death from reading her mind as well, but does not appear to block him from manipulating her.
Faith has only used the pendant once to access a memory of Death's, using a mirror and a mysterious guide. Remember, she used a mirror to activate the mysterious necklace. The guide warned Faith that magic came at a price, which has been reiterated throughout the story, and so it can be deducted that Faith, at some point of the story, will owe this "Mirror Man", or maybe even the world where he came from, a favor.
Faith additionally owes Ace, a warlock who claims to be evil, a favor as well for giving her a reading. He saw into her future using the "Spirits" and said that her fate was "unclear". He then went on to state the Seven Deadly Sins, paired with the Seven Virtues and repeated "blood" three times. He said that Death's intentions towards Faith were uncertain and that "...you are her." Before he could tell her more, Ace began to become weak and was soon after possessed by Death.
In regards to David Star, Faith is pretty certain he is Death. She saw immediately that Devin Star is not much older than David, therefore they cannot be father and son.
Faith envisioned her friendly neighborhood dark angel freeing and then killing a powerful being named "Ahrimad" from again, a mirror, and he could have very well been the first Grim Reaper. Faith understands that Death can take the image of someone who he kills, so it makes perfect sense that he could be David Star. She is not 100% sure how Devin and the D & S Towers ties into this discovery, nor does she know why Death pretends to be someone else.
I want to be clear that although it may appear obvious some characters are lying to Faith or betraying her, everyone around her is heavily manipulating her throughout the entire story and she should not be totally blamed for her actions.
If you reread, it should become quite evident that Death is not the only one who toys with her (ex. Ace, Malphas). She is very smart and clever, but Death can easily overpower her mind and manipulate her thought process, as well as numerous other characters in this story.
Faith does not know that Malphas is Death's father. Keep in mind; she also does not remember what Death looks besides a portion of his upper face, which she painted at the beginning of the story.
GLENN – Death's demon slave who got his tongue ripped out for not disclosing information for the "pecked out eye" killings of Fallen, in Chicago. He betrayed Death and will most likely be punished.
KATROCKS247 – God, and a bad bitch.
LEO – First appears in the D & S Towers. Has golden eyes and black hair. When Faith kisses Thomas Gregory, she sees Leo collecting Thomas' soul and discovers that Leo is in fact one of Death's Reapers; his most trusted Reaper, at that. (Or at least he WAS.) He has not appeared again since his last encounter with Faith, but it is inevitable that they will meet again. He is one of many reapers that will be introduced in the future.
LUCIFER – Lord of the Underworld and the Devil. His skin is red and scaly in his true form, and yes, according to the last chapter, he has horns. He is close with Death and ironically has been portrayed as less evil than him. His background story has not been shared, but we know that he was God's favorite before he fell from Heaven and that he was (still is?) driven solely by power. In a previous chapter, Thomas Gregory saw him take the image of Devin Star.
MARCY – Faith's best friend and Thomas Gregory's ex girlfriend. She grew up with both Faith and Thomas. Faith distanced herself from Marcy in order to keep her safe. We have not heard from this character for a while.
MALPHAS (MAL—FAS) (The Raven Demon) – Death's father and a very powerful demi-god. We know that he died in war and that a witch who wielded black magic brought him back to life, using a raven's heart. It is insinuated that Death "killed" Malphas at some point but he somehow came back. He was the one who was killing Death's Fallen as well as white angels all around Chicago. Whether or not he was making a statement, or is planning something more cynical, is not quite clear.
* * * Faith does not know Malphas is Death's father. (At least, she's not supposed to. Please correct me with the specific chapter if I'm wrong because I'm actually not sure! xoxo)
SCYTHERELLA -- Death's large curved blade, better known as a scythe, who he is very affectionate towards and probably considers a real person...LOL. Death is very affectionate towards sharp objects in general and can wield many weapons.
THOMAS GREGORY – Was childhood best friends with Faith and Marcy but grew apart from them as he got older. He was captain of the swim team at their high school and was in a secret relationship with Marcy. At the beginning of the story, Faith and Marcy attend a party at Thomas' mansion and that is when Faith is introduced a second time to Death. Thomas has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is a demon hunter and a skilled bowman. Malphas killed his father, who pushed Thomas to be the best swimmer to an extreme level. Thomas is now under Malphas' control and is basically his pawn. When Faith kissed Thomas, she foresaw his death and saved his life.
TIARA – David Star's bitchy (heh) red haired secretary, who, according to Leo, is basically David's sex toy. Her nails reminded Faith of talons, the first and only time she has met Tiara in this story. She was very protective over David and disliked Faith.
TRIXIE – Appears to be some sort of guard/assistant of Ace's. She demanded to know who Faith was when she visited Ace's bookstore. Her species is unidentified .
MR. AND MRS. WILLIAMS – Faith's parents. They have been heavily brainwashed by Death and literally have no idea what is going on.
