Cellar

Everyone was still sleeping in the living room, two people died and they didn't wake up.
From the corner of my eye I could see something black besides me in the bookshelf, I tried to move my head towards it, but I couldn't.
I was in the doll, after some time I'd be able to move when I'm in her, now I wasn't strong enough.

Jane called it sleeping; it didn't feel like sleeping though.
We had to stay in the object that connects us with the world of the living from 9am to 3 pm, otherwise if the sunlight would touch us during that time, it would light us on fire and we could never put off the fire.
That was one of the ghost things that sucked the most.

Rick came down the stairs, I felt sick when I saw him. While he was humming 'let me hear you scream' by Ozzy Osbourne he started to move my lifeless body that was still at the end of the stairs, he grabbed my legs and dragged me out of my sight, leaving a blood trail on the floor.
I had no idea where he brought my corpse.

And I didn't want to know that, I didn't want to see my blood anymore.

After some minutes he returned and looked at the blood on the floor, then he pulled a old light brown carpet over it.

He didn't even bother to try to clean it, he just hid my blood under a carpet.

Then he looked at the sleeping people. That was when I realized that some of them were missing.

We were 23 students in our class and all of us slept here, even though we never did that, five boys were already gone.
They probably went home.

They saw my dead body, my blood, they saw my blood on the floor and just left!

Without making any noise he went out of the living room again.

The beat of an old wooden cuckoos clock that hung over the tv broke the silence.

It was 3pm. I could finally go to Jane again. She wasn't really talkative, but I didn't want to be alone anymore.

I went out of the doll and stood in the living room. I realized that I didn't know with what Jane has been connected or where she could be now.

I decided to wait for her.

I looked at my sleeping classmates.
Veronica, my best friend, was the closest to the staircase, the place where I died. She even got some of my blood on her shoes.

If I wouldn't be a ghost I probably would have vomited.

Her dark brown hair framed her beautiful thin face. She was looking so innocent while she was sleeping. Her boyfriend, Cody, a tall blonde guy, was lying next to her and she was snuggling up to his chest.

I didn't want them to end up like me. I needed to wake them up, warn them, make them leave this wretched place.
But how?

I looked around as if the answer would be in this room.
Then I spotted a bright orange medicine bottle.
It was Benzodiazepines.
The same stuff I've found in the bathroom earlier, when I was still alive.

There were actually many of these bottles on the floor, most of them rolled under the sofa. That's why I haven't seen them already.

All of them were empty.

I've read the information paper on the bottle to find out what use these pills had.

'Benzodiazepines are a medicaments that can be used for sleeping problems and anxiety. The side effects are sedation, dizziness, weakness and unsteadiness'

The bottle fell out of my hand.

That's why everyone was sleeping!

Rick must've mixed some of these pills in our drinks so we would fall asleep here.

I was wondering the whole time why I have slept here, and why everyone else didn't wake up.

This son of a bitch was giving us drugs!

But then where are the five boys that were already gone? Did they wake up?

Suddenly Rick occurred in front of Cody. I didn't hear him coming in.  When I saw him I didn't move.

He couldn't see me, I didn't want to risk that he recognizes my presence though. However he could do that.

Rick took Cody by his feet and dragged him, like me before, out of sight.

He took the boyfriend of my best friend, I had to do something!

I walked after them, careful I didn't come to close.

Rick was dragging him from the living room threw a small hallway with a dark wooden floor and the walls were covered with a dark green wallpaper, decorated with tinny leaves in the same color just a bit lighter.

At the end of the hallway was a white door. He kicked it open and got swallowed up by the darkness of the other side.

He walked down.

Stairs again.
I started to dislike them.

I heard Codys head hitting on the stair steps and hoped he wouldn't get injured too bad.

Even though I felt more than just uncomfortable by following him down there I did it.

A single lightbulb was hanging from the ceiling. It's light barley lightened up this cellar.

It wasn't the only thing that was hanging from the ceiling.
There was something else but at first I didn't acknowledge what it was. It looked like a red and skin colored thing.

After looking at it closer, I discerned that it was the torso of a human.
Blood was dripping down from its wounds.

It had a little tattoo on its lower back; a butterfly.

Jason, a friend of mine, had the same tattoo. But this couldn't be him. I refused to believe that he was dead too, however it was his body hanging in front of me with the headless neck looking to the ground.

While I was looking at the torso, Rick prepared Cody for the slaughter. He was laying on a wooden table, his shirt cut off with some scissors.

Rick took a cleaver knife from another table and turned around to Cody.

With an frightening accuracy and so fast that I didn't immediately understand what was happening he cut of Codys head.

It rolled down, hitting on the floor, making a weird noise.

Rick took a deep breath and smiled.
I got a goosebumps seeing him smiling like that.
Then he looked me right in the eye and said:

"Don't you love the smell of death in the morning?"
