This was a rather disappointing turn of events.

The DNA tests in the makeup found in the tape of the Kira envelopes came back as a match, to Misas unreleased makeup . The frustrating part? Even though the likelihood of of the second Kira being Misa were very high that wouldn't be enough to secure conviction, but it was grounds for an interrogation.

The plan was to take her into confinement and interrogate her. You'd sent your response to the second Kira out, and you'd gotten the message back saying that she'd continue killing and stop looking for Kira. Meaning they'd probably met in that time frame when the forensics was being done.

So in about a month, you'd confirmed there was a chance the second Kira was misa and Light and Misa had likely met. Now you just had to put the plan into action and question her. You weren't too pleased with the fact you'd have to restrain her to be questioned, but if she was the second Kira she was very dangerous.

Her power was very clearly different from the original Kira, and no one knew how she killed. It was too much of a risk to leave her free to move in case she tried to kill someone to save herself.

And of course, L was rather disappointed that the second Kira ended up being probably Misa. He did like her music after all, now he was all disappointed that someone he admired the work of ended up being a killer.

Today was the day though, the day Misa would be taken into confinement. But first you and L went to Lights university to catch him off guard and break the news to see how he reacted. So again you showed up at the university in your usual spooky attire. As usual, you got some looks here and there as you both sat on one of the benches talking as you waited.

"Everything is going to go down soon right?" You asked.

L looked at the time on his phone.

"Yeah, she's be on a break soon and the agents will get her then. The cover story was sent to her company last night so there shouldn't be any confusion or alarm" L replied.

"Good, I don't want this to fuck up. It's a tricky enough situation as it is"

"I know, and hey speaking of kiras..."

L pointed at Light who was walking down the path toward you.

"This will be interesting..." you said, spotting Ryuk behind him too.

"Is Ryuk there?"

"He is"

"He better not ruffle my hair again..."

Light noticed your presence, and you beckoned him over. Getting up approaching each other, you gave Ryuk a glance if acknowledgement, to which he snickered in return. Light looked slightly confused hearing Ryuk laugh for seemingly no reason.

"Hey, what are you guys doing back here? Thought you were too spooky for school" he blankly joked.

"As long as we don't die, University isn't that bad" L replied.

"You haven't been in for a while, people are asking where you went"

"I put on my enrolment form that I have reoccurring health problems as an excuse in advance"

"Well... you're not completely lying mr anemia..." you teased.

"Shush you, you've had some health problems before too"

Well, you couldn't argue there. Everyone has a few small health hiccups down the line in their life.

"Anyway... we have something to tell you but first wanna go get some cake or something?" L said.

Of course... he has to have cake this is L were talking about.

"Yeah sure, we can get some in the cafeteria or something" Light replied.

"I'm craving shortcake for some reason..."

"You're always craving shortcake you addict" you teased.

Before you could even turn to walk in that direction, the events turned yet again, this time quite unexpectedly.

"LIGHT!"

Was that..?

You all turned to face the voice and sure enough, the suspect her self came rushing toward you.

"Uh- Misa?" Light replied.

"I'm on my break and the photo shoot is near by so I thought I'd come visit you!" She smiled.

You'd admit that Ryuks laughing made you want to laugh too, but you held it in. The fact there could be another shinigami you can't see here now was also rather unsettling.

"These your frien- wait I remember you! You were in the Lolita shop that day" misa said.

That's right, you ran into her that one time. Oh god, that means she's known your face for a while and could have absolutely killed you if she knew you were working on the case. And now she can see L's face too. That was unsettling...

"Y-yeah that's right. I didn't realise you were the famous one at the time and only figured it out after I got home" you replied.

"You've met?" Light questioned.

"Only once for a few minutes"

The look on Lights face was a rather sinister one. You had a bad feeling about this.

"Well... yeah these are my... colleges. Salem and Ryuga" Light said.

"Wow I didn't know you had cool friends! You dress so proper all the time I didn't even consider you'd have spooky friends. Guess you attract people who like to dress in black hey light?" Misa giggled.

Light did seem like the odd one out here. Both you and Misa donned all black attire and while L had his usual outfit, you'd pained his nails for fun the day before and forced him to wear a black wide brimmed hat and your bat sunglasses so he wouldn't burn in the sun.

He was quite vampire like really, touching the sun seemingly made him burst into flames.

It was then you noticed Misa and L seemingly stuck in a staring contest. She seemed a little confused and L seemed to have made a connection with something. Light seemed to pick up something you and L didn't.

"I-isn't it strange he has the same name as the idol? What are the chances?" He tried to cover up.

L on the other hand had clearly made a connection, as you could hear him giggling away to himself under his breath. What did he figure out?

"Light" L said.

He turned to look at L. L kept his eyes on Misa

"How did you get so lucky? I've been following your work since the august issue of eighteen" he said.

"What? That's so sweet! Thank your for supporting me! But I think you got lucky anyway since you managed to score her!" Misa replied, pointing at you.

How the hell did she figure that out so quickly.

"I don't think I've ever seen cooler wedding rings!" She added.

Oh, that's how. Of course she'd notice the rings, she's a model after all she knows fashion. The rings would be something she noticed along with all your other accessories. Before you or L could comment further, there was sudden chatter behind you. And before you knew it a crowd had rushed up and surrounded Misa.

She's famous, should have known.

You and L got shoved back slightly in the crowd and L took this as a chance to strike. 

"You got your bag?" He asked.

"Yes why?"

"My pockets are full"

That's when you noticed he'd grabbed Misas phone charm and was carefully pulling at it to steal her phone for evidence.

"Clever boy" you smirked.

"NO WAY SOMEONE JUST TOUCHED MY BUTT!" Misa exclaimed.

L immediately panicked, shoving the phone in your bag before anyone noticed and Misa turned around.

"Uh- t-taking advance of such a situation is unforgivable! I'll find whoever is responsible for this..." he said.

"Oh Ryuga you're so funny" she giggled.

L's cheeks were red, that's not how he intended for this to go at all. You tried to hold back your laughter, only to get a glare from L in return. Oh your poor awkward husband, never good at social situations.

"Shut up" he said under his breath.

"Honey if you want butts to touch there's always mine. We're married remember?" You joked.

"Shut-"

He wanted to die of embarrassment in that moment, but you found it hilarious.

Just as quickly as the crowd formed, it dispersed when Misas manger came marching up to her and dragged her off to go back to work. Leaving you, your husband and Light.

"Well... that was interesting" you snickered.

"Anyway... about that cake?" L said.

"Oh yeah, you guys go ahead I'll catch up. I... forget something in class" Light replied.

Turning to walk in the opposite direction, you watched Misa and her manager round the corner as they walked off.

"She's getting arrested any minute now..." you said.

"Indeed. And also any second now..."

Just as L said that, Misas phone in your bag went off. How the hell did he predict that? That's probably why he was giggling before. 

L took the phone from your bag and the caller ID was none other than Light.

"Ohhh I see..." you smirked.

"Watch" L smirked back, picking up the call "hello?"

Again, you could hear Ryuk laughing his ass off. That's how you knew it worked.

"Uh hello?" L repeated.

There was a pause for lights response.

"Oh that's you Light? Someone dropped this phone in all that commotion earlier I figured we'd drop it at lost and found" L lied.

Another pause, followed by Lights footsteps behind you getting closer.

"Oh I see, that makes sense" L replied, hanging up.

When you turned, Light was behind you again and L was about to hand the phone over when his went off.

"Oh that's actually mine this time..."

"Is that the Dracula theme?" Light questioned his ringtone.

"Yeah Salem suggested it" L replied.

He answered it, and listening to the brief conversation you knew exactly what had happened. Hanging up again, L gave Light a smug look.

"I'll be keeping this for evidence actually, just them Misa was arrested under suspicion of being the second Kira" L dropped on him.

Light was silent for a moment. Cornered and unsure what to do.

"Her... really?" He said.

"It's just a precaution since we found she had connections to you, our main suspect"

"I see..."

"I understand if that's kinda hard to take in, but if she's not the second Kira you have nothing to worry about"

Light seemed taken aback, and ryuk absolutely loosing his shit behind him told you that you were right to suspect her.
