"Did you call for me?"

"Yes Jae Jin, have a seat. Do you know what date it is today?"

"Yes"

"Then you must also know why this date is so important?"

"I do, vividly. Today is the 50th death anniversary of the sinner witch Amanda, which means, today is the exact day when the cure is supposed to be born"

"Well, she has already. A witch couple who go by the names Gae Dak Ho and Gae Chae Won had her this morning. But they are yet to know about her truth, about who she really is. And this is where we spring into action"

"What do you mean?"

"None but us know about her yet, and we have to keep it that way. Of course her parents will know everything when they see their daughter devoid of witch powers. And that is why we need to keep an eye on them. The baby's protection is our priority here"

"Why, why do we care? I mean the cure is in no way significant to us. Does it not just concern the witches and the leaches?"

"No Jae Jin. You know the prophesy. You know that Amanda's blood gave birth to the first vampire, it gave him the powers that made him undefeated and immortal. Sure the prophesy says that this time the blood will act as a cure and diffuse all the powers it created in the first place. But how can we be so sure? What if it ends up making the vampires even stronger? We can't let that happen. If the vampire community gains any more power it can wipe out the entire human race in a matter of days. And once the humans are gone, they'll come for us. How can we let that happen Jae Jin? Protecting the cure means protecting ourselves, our pack."

"How will we do that though? Will we take the baby away from her family?"

"No, of course not. We need to be careful, not cruel. We need to provide our services from behind the curtains"

"But, as far as I know, the warlocks don't want to give vampires the cure either. So won't they try and protect her as well?"

"They should but we can't count on that. Warlocks are brutal and cunning. They can be bought with power, manipulated with position, and blinded with greed. We can't trust them with this. We'll never know when they sell the cure to those savage leaches in exchange for some luscious prize. So we must take the reins into our hands. We will linger in the shadows and protect the girl, for as long as we can. No matter what species they are, a parent would never want any harm on their children. You are a father, you should know this better than me Jae Jin. I'm sure the Gae's will try their best to keep their daughter away from danger, even if it means hiding her from their own people. All we need to do is enhance the protection they ensure"

"I get it now, but how exactly are we going to do that?"

"Excellent question. Tell me Jae Jin, how old are your twins?"

"Umm, they will turn 1 this October, why?"

"Mhm, they are almost the same age as the cure. Thus, when the time comes, they will be our best option to go undercover, get close to the cure, and protect her. Those two are the fittest for this mission. But I won't imply anything. The decision is solely up to you and your mate"

"Don't worry, our family will be honored to serve such a great purpose of protecting our clan"

"Then your job will be to build them up, train them hard, and make them capable of this responsibility"

"Yes Alpha"

"JIMIN! Wha- How- What are you doing here?" you ask, your voice all high and squeaky from the shock of seeing your high school best friend standing in front of you with his fangs out and eyes yellow.

What the hell......is he a vampire too!?

You move your hand forward intending to touch his face to see if he is real or just a figment of your imagination. Questions that you never thought you'd be asking claw at your brain and a confining fear stifles your sanity as your fingers inch closer and closer towards the boy who's your friend but at the moment seems like a stranger.

You have known him for years, but now you are forced to ask yourself, did you ever really know him? Clearly, he is not the sweet little human boy you thought him to be. He is some supernatural creature with color-changing eyes. And clearly, he has had his fair share of secrets. Are friends not supposed to share secrets?

Before you can reach him, however, Jimin grabs your wrist and pulls you towards him. You tightly close your eyes thinking he might hurt you but he does nothing of that sort.

When you don't feel any pain for a few seconds you reopen your eyes, only to realize that he is not harming you but rather checking you as if looking for any possible injuries or bruises. With a gaze laced with concern, he scans your body and once he is satisfied with his diagnosis, he pulls you in for a sudden hug, embracing you tightly and whispering in your ears about how much he missed you.

"Where have you been Y/N-ah? We missed you so much. Your family has been looking for you everywhere. They are going crazy without you, especially Jackson"

You can't say anything in return. The memories of your family that you were trying to leave behind come rushing back and you are unable to refrain your heart from clenching. The train of hurtful emotions burden you and you go blank for a few seconds. But Jimin still holds you like the friend he has always been. Sure he is a mystery to you now but he is your friend too and at the moment, with all the bizarre stuff going on around you, a friend is what you need the most.

You scramble back to your senses in a few seconds and lift your arms to return your best friend's hug. However, before you can do so, a sudden force yanks you away from Jimin's hold and in no time a broad back covers your vision.

Instantaneously, a growl erupts from this new individual's mouth identifying him to you as Taehyung.

Your eyes widen when you see both the males looking at each other, fangs out, eyes wide, growling like angry beasts and glaring each other down with sheer madness.

It is as if they are having a very silent but very deadly fight with just their eyes. The fierce looks they are giving each other are fearful and you can't help but see with awe, and honestly, a little boredom too. You have been dealing with the same supernatural shit for quite some time now, mere moments now left until it gets mundane. Also, this time you are not scared of any of the two men in front of you, so that's a relief.

Seconds pass before Jimin finally decides to break free from Taehyung's glare. He averts his eyes and tries to reach for you but things get out of hand when Taehyung restricts him from doing so and pushes him away, hard.

Jimin stumbles behind with force but before he can fall butt first on the ground, a terrifying growl leaves his lips and surprising the hibijibies out of you, he transforms into a freaking wolf, a big black angry wolf, or more precisely, a werewolf!

Holy Shit!!

He jumps up while his clothes tear apart mid-air and drop at your feet revealing his rock-hard abs for just a glimpse before long, shaggy hairs cover his entire body. His bones contort in painful angles and his physique becomes much bigger. He lands from his leap of triumph on all fours right in front of Taehyung. The surreal transformation leaves you gasping for air, and you instinctively take a step back. But you can't say the same about your vampire companion. He stands calm and still as if he's been waiting for this all along.

But wait, there's more. When you feel like there's nothing else left in this world that can shock you more, a second wolf, lighter in color but almost identical, jumps into the roof and lands beside Jimin before snarling at Taehyung with its yellow eyes honed.

It's a good thing that Taehyung's flat is right below the roof. Because with all the jumping and growling, other tenants would have complained sooner or later.

You feel like you can pass out any moment now. But you are still not quite there yet. So, you just keep shut and watch the drama unfold.

"Who are you and what do want?" finally, Taehyung speaks up.

"We can ask you the same. Who are you and what are you doing with our friend?" comes Jimin's reply. Watching a wolf talk like a human is amusing and you stare at him with awe.

"Friend?" Taehyung looks back at you but you are too preoccupied to pay heed to his confusion. It is not until Taehyung shakes you that you descend back to reality.

"Huh! What? Did you say something?" you ask like a kid who just woke up from a fairy-tale dream.

"Do you know them?" he asks, looking more mad than before for some reason.

"Umm, yeah. He is Jimin. I know him from school" you blurt out sounding devoid of emotions. You have been feeling so many things lately that they seem to have canceled each other out.

Taehyung seems to be displeased with your answer. Nonetheless, he masks it and remains serious "And what about the girl?"

"What girl?"

"You forgot me already?"

You hear a familiar female voice address you. So you peek from behind Taehyung's shoulders only to find both the Park twins standing tall, in their human forms, clad in two black coats made of fur similar to their own. It's the werewolf duo that was chosen to be your protector eighteen years ago, Park Jimin and Park Rose.
