Chapter 8

Moon's Point of View

Over the past month, we had talked, went back outside the house, be lazy in the house, and did some weird stuff. (Don't ask and it wasn't dirty.) Ivan always forces me to wear the locket so I won't forget what I am fighting for. I am only allowed to take it off when I take a shower or when I go to bed. The wound on my stomach healed so now I have a scar. Right now, it's morning and as usual, Ivan is passed out on his bed. I got up and walked over to him. I poked his cheek to make sure that was alive which he was. I walk back to my bed and opened my bag. I took out a piece of bread, sat on my bed and ate it. I laid on my stomach and stuck my hand under the bed to find one of the many books that I had under there. Once I found one I grabbed it and pulled it out from underneath my bed. I moved my pillow is I could lean against it. I laid against the pillow and put the blanket over my legs. I opened the book and started reading.

I was so into the book that when Ivan yawned so loudly it had startled me. I looked over at Ivan and he was looking at me so I gave him a glare. I went back to reading and start to ignore him. Ivan stood up from his bed and walked over to me. He touched my shoulder which startled me (again) and made me drop my book on my lap. I look up at him and gave him another glare.

"I didn't know you read," Ivan said.

"I was bored and you were passed out like usual and since I had nothing to do, I decided to read," I said and picked up my book again and started to read. Next thing I know the book is out of my hands and in the hands of Ivan's.

"Hey," I yelled and toss the covers off my legs and jump off my bed. I reach to grab the book from Ivan's hand but he walked backward so it was out of my reach.

"Give me back my book," I demand and reach for it again. He put it higher than himself. Since he is taller than me I still couldn't reach it even with me jumping. I had enough of it. I hit the back of his knees, hard, with my leg. He fell on his knees dropping my book on the floor. I pick up the book and walk back over to him. I hit the back of his head with the book.

"Ow." He said while rubbing the back of his head.

"You won't have gotten hit if you didn't take my book and I suggest you don't do it again," I said coldly. I walk back over to my bed. I sat down and started reading. Every now and then I would look up from my book to see Ivan sitting on his bed thinking really hard. After about 30 minutes of me reading and Ivan trying to burn his brain (thinking very hard.)

"I have been thinking-." He said before I interrupted him.

"Well that is the first," I said still reading my book.

"Whatever, anyways I've been paying close attention to how you been acting which is weird." He said. I look up from my book and place my book on the nightstand next to my bed.

"One, you're a stalker, and two how?" I said.

"You are cold one minute and the next minute you are so happy. It makes no sense." He said. I just stay silent.

"Also you threaten me that you would kill me if I did anything to annoy you or make you angry. When you do threaten to kill me you never do." He said and as he goes on his voice rises in sound.

"I believe you are just using me." He said with his voice being load. I put my head down so he won't see the tears that started to fall down my face.

"I'm going to ask you a question and you are going to answer it and be honest." He demands. Even more, tears fall down my face.

"Why the hell are you keeping me alive and not like other people we had encountered?" He demands. His demanding voice and yelling brought up old memories of what my father used to do.

"Are you going to answer?" He demanded again.

"Because I love you," I whispered. He didn't hear it because he was still looking at me waiting for my answer.

"I saw something in you than the other people," I said.

"Then why-." He started to say before I interrupted him.

"You make me happy, I haven't felt that emotion for so long. I haven't laughed as much before I meet you. Before I got into this game I was... Faking the way I acted." I said and looked up at him so he could see the tears that are falling down my face.

"I was lonely and wanted someone to help me. I was hurting so much on the inside that I became cold-hearted. I thought that if I act all cold and didn't let anyone inside or alive I won't be hurt as much as I am now. That is why I kept you alive. I knew the moment you put that gun to my head that you were not like other people." I nearly yelled.

Flashback

As I was walking to where I the house I was staying at, I heard the click of a gun and felt the barrel of the gun against the back of my head.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The stranger asked. His voice was clearly that of a male.

"You must have the guts to put a gun to my head,"

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The man repeated himself.

"What am I doing here? What are you doing here? This is my territory." I asked turning around to look at the guy. When I look at him he looks like he is in his mid-twenties. This guy had brown hair and grey eyes.

"Than you are the famous Moon I've heard stories of. You don't seem as dangerous as everyone says you are so I trust you." It is odd that he easily trusted me, he then put his gun down.

"Well, the name is Ivan, everyone says that your so dangerous so I had to see for myself and you don't seem too dangerous anyways. I see you have a nice place up ahead. I couldn't get in so don't worry."

Flashback over

During the time I was talking Ivan stood up from his bed and walked over to me. He put one of his hands on my cheek and use his thumb to wipe away the tears. He then put his other hand on the back of my head and push my head forward. He keeps doing that until our lips met. Ivan was kissing me. I was shocked at first but slowly gave in. After a few minutes of kissing, I pulled back to catch my breath. Not even a few seconds later Ivan pulled me back into another kiss. After a while, I pulled back and put my head in his neck.

"I love you," I said. He sat down next to me and pulled me into his lap. His hands wrapped around my waist pulling me close to him.

"Thank you for everything. You made me happy and I haven't felt this happy since I don't know. You stayed with me even when you had the chance to leave but you didn't. You stayed with me when I got wound when you could have left me." I said while crying.

"I didn't leave because I could see that you were hurting. Even though you didn't say it or really show it, your eyes showed it. It isn't right to leave someone hurting all by themselves. So you don't need to thank me." He said.

"So you did this out of pity?" I asked.

"No, that's not what I mean. When I first saw you I felt that you were a lot different from the other girls I've met and once I slowly got to know you, you are actually different from others. I haven't met anyone like you. Faith, I love you too. You don't understand how much I love and for how long." He said and fix us so he was against the pillows with me still on his lap.

"I love you, Faith." As soon as he said that I smiled and put my forehead against his. He smiled and pulled me closer to him causing me to giggle. He pulled me into another kiss. I pulled away and sat in between his legs. He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer so my back was against his chest.

"I'm gonna go back to sleep, I'm still tired." He said before getting comfortable.

"Faith,"

"Hmmm,"

"I love you." He said.

"Ivan go back to sleep already. God your gonna be the death of me." I said grabbing my book and started reading. Within a few minutes, he was asleep.

Ivan's Point of View

I don't know how long I've been asleep but when I woke up Faith had fallen asleep against me. I grabbed the book and put it on the nightstand. I grabbed the cover, covered us and fell back asleep.
