Junko: SEGA has tons of main characters to choose from, and while most have been forgotten into the abyss, a certain two lived on for even greater fame.

Monika: Sonic, the Hedgehog, the fastest thing alive.

Junko: And Neptune... huh I guess she's not-

Neptune: Nep-Nep the main character of Hyperdimensional Neptunia!

Junko: Oh god dammit!

Monika: The stage is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

In a random city, Neptune was standing atop a large building.

Neptune: We had soo many battles in a city this season, might as well end it off this way too. 

As she said this, she sees a blue blur dashing across the city and she immediately chases after it. She was chasing Sonic and quickly jumped in front of him, swinging her sword.

Sonic; Woah!

Sonic stopped and jumped over her before going for a kick. Neptune blocked it and pushed him back, getting into a fighting stance as he landed on his feet.

Sonic: Woah! Who are you?!

Neptune: That's not important right now. Time for me to beat you a second time!

Sonic: Heh, alright bring it on!

Neptune was the first to dash at him and swing her sword, but Sonic dodged it and went for a kick. She ducked under and went for another swing but Sonic flipped back as she shot multiple fireballs. Sonic dodged all of them and jumped up before going for a homing attack that Neptune blocked. She quickly knocked him back and summoned lightning from the sky, but Sonic flipped to the side.

Sonic: Heh, you're too slow!

He dashed at him and went to form a circle but she quickly jumped out of the way as he made rings instead that he quickly collected. She stabbed her blade into the ground as a massive pillar of earth burst up, but Sonic jumped right off it and went for a kick. Neptune jumped to the side quickly as Sonic slid on his feet.

Neptune: Mega Blade! 

She pointed up in the air and shot a giant blade at Sonic, the impact created a massive explosion, and through the debris of the explosion came the speedy hedgehog with a shield around him. He jumped through the sky and went for multiple kicks, firing sharp projectiles as she quickly jumped back to dodge them all. Once she did, Sonic was right behind her. She quickly swung her sword and he dodged with ease, now he was beside her. She swung again and he dodged again.

Sonic: What's wrong? Can't keep up?

He kept dodging her swings before going for a kick that she quickly blocked. It knocked her back but she stayed on her toes and dashed back at him. 

Neptune: Cross Combination!

She swung her sword and broke through his shield before going for an upper swing, launching him into the air. She then jumped up and went for another swing that slammed him into the ground. He landed on his feet as the earth cracked around him. He looked up at her with a smirk.

Sonic: Rocket!

Using the power of an Orange wisp, he turned into a rocket and launched himself at her. She spun to dodge as he turned back and kicked her in the face, sending her crashing back into the ground. She flipped back to her feet and raised her hand again, summoning four Inafune Swords and launching them at him. Sonic hit them all with homing attacks, causing them to blow up in the process as he went for a homing attack on Neptune, who took out her Orange Kneesock Sword and swung it, sending Sonic flying through buildings.

Neptune: All right! Home run!

A Sonic Boom could be heard from afar.

Neptune: Uh oh...

She looked up ahead to see Sonic boosting straight at her. She created a barrier to block his advance, but he smashed through it and rammed into her, sending her flying as he kept running. 

Sonic: Eagle!

He used the power of a crimson wisp to turn into a crimson Eagle and sour through the air. As he did, Neptune turned into a fighter jet and made a U-turn above Sonic in order to get behind him and fire missiles at him. Sonic dodged them all, spinning around a building and crashing into her, causing a massive explosion. Neptune landed out of the explosion and dashed forward, seeing Sonic falling.

Neptune: Critical Edge!

She went for a swing of her sword and Sonic went for a spindash. They both clashed, creating a shockwave around them as Neptune pushed him back. 

Neptune: Delta Slash!

She slashed her sword two times and trapped Sonic in a box. She then swung her blade a third time and caused it to explode. She smiled, but her smile faltered when she saw Sonic using his Invincibility Shield to block the blast.

Neptune: Oh come on, not this again!

Sonic: Heh!

The blue blur ran at her as she swung her sword, but that was just an afterimage as he was already behind her and kicked her in the back of the head. She was sent flying a bit but slid on her feet as Sonic was above her, going for another kick to the top of her head. She blocked it and pushed him back again. Once the Invincibility wore off, he slid on his feet and started charging up for a lightspeed attack.

Sonic: Here we...

Neptune responded quickly, summoning an Atranger that fired its fists as missiles.

Sonic: Go!

Sonic blitzed through both its fist and the Atranger itself before going for a kick that Neptune ducked under. She then turned to face him as he smiled.

Sonic: Nice try, but I've taken down toys much bigger.

She smiled back.

Neptune: Oh really? Then try this on for size!

She raised her hand and summoned a massive ship with Keiji Inafune's face on it.

Sonic: Well... that's not good.

It fired a massive blast of energy from its mouth and eyes. Sonic quickly dashed through the massive blast, using the power of all his Wisps for a Final Color Blaster and smashing straight into the ship. 

Sonic: Void!

He used the power of the Purple Wisp to turn himself into a Black Hole, sucking up the ship and everything around him, including Neptune herself. She quickly turned into Purple Heart as she let herself be sucked in. Once she got in close, she swung her sword.

Purple Heart: Take this!

Her strike knocked Sonic out of his transformation and sent him flying through buildings. She teleported above him and kicked him into the ground. As soon as Sonic tried to get up, she landed and flew at him again.

Purple Heart: Victory Slash!

She hit him with a V-shaped slash that blew up in his face then smiled.

Purple Heart: This is my power!

But before she could celebrate, the seven Chaos Emeralds glowed in the debris and Sonic immediately took in their power, transforming into Super Sonic with a smile.

Sonic: Oh yeah? Let's see whose faster!

The two started to fly into the air before flying at each other. Sonic went for a Spindash as Purple Hear swung her sword and the two clashed. They knocked each other back and Purple Heart swung her sword, firing several projectiles at Sonic who dodged them all, flying straight at her. He had turned into a bolt of lightning ready to strike, but Purple Heart ducked under as he went straight through the building behind her, causing it to collapse.

Purple Heart: It's a good thing nobody lives in this city. 

She infused her sword with fire and flew at him. He went for a kick and the two clashed again, only this time she was knocked back and a giant foot appeared above her, smashing her into the ground before disappearing. He went for another homing attack but Purple Heart made a shield to block it before teleporting behind him. She went for a kick and Sonic dodged it, teleporting behind her and kicking her into space. He flew at her as she crashed into the moon.

Sonic: Heh, I'm just getting started!

He created a sword construct and flew at her. She flew back and they clashed before traveling around the planet at light speeds, clashing faster than the eye could see. Sonic managed to hit her with a punch that sent her flying. He then appeared behind her and went for another punch, but she kicked his arm back and went for a punch of her own, sending him flying as she fired multiple sword projectiles at him. He caught himself and created multiple giant fists to counter. Their projectiles clashed as they flew at each other. Purple Heart hit him with a kick that sent the two of them straight back to Earth, crashing into a forest and causing a massive explosion upon impact. Purple Heart flew out of the debris as Sonic burst out of it.

Sonic; Now I'll show you!

He turned himself into an arrow of light that sent Purple Heart flying through the forest. She slid on her feet and Sonic was already behind her. He used Magic Hands to shrink her into the palm of his hands before throwing her into a tree and causing it to explode. She turned back staggering a bit.

Purple Heart: Did I just explode?

She looked up as Sonic was right in front of her, ramming into her and sending her flying towards a mountain. She took her sword and cut the mountain in two before flying up and kicking it towards him.

Sonic: Chaos... Control!

Time froze as he charged straight through the mountain and spun into Neptune, who quickly blocked his attack.

Purple Heart: Nice try, but freezing time has no effect on me!

Sonic: Sure, but how about this?

He teleported out of the way as time resumed and the mountain was being sent straight back at her. She unleashed a blast of lightning at it, instantly reducing it to dust. But as she did, she turned around and Sonic kicked her back into the ground, causing a massive crater. She stood up, holding her head and looking around as multiple Sonic constructs surrounded her. She sees this and prepares her blade.

Purple Heart: Bring it on!

They all flew at her. One of them went for a Spin Attack, but she blocked it and sent him crashing into a bunch more. Another kicked her in the back of the head. She took out her Paper Fan and swatted him and a bunch more away, then spun around to create a massive tornado to suck them all in. The constructs disappeared as Sonic flew through the tornado, kicking Neptune in the face. She grabbed his leg and spun him around before throwing him into the ground.

Purple Heart: Neptune Break!

A purple aura surrounded Purple Heart and a yellow aura surrounded Super Sonic. Neptune slashed at him in all directions and Sonic followed with a garage of homing and light speed attacks of his own as they both clashed before Purple Heart spun her sword into the air. She caught it and swung at him again. She went for one last stab that caused a massive explosion of purple light before landing on the ground.

Purple Heart: Sorry, but I win again. This time I didn't even need to use 90% of my power.

Sonic: Not over just yet!

The debris dispersed as Sonic turned to Starfall Super Sonic.

Purple Heart: Wha-

Before she could say another word, he was already in front of her, striking her faster than she could react and sending her flying. She caught herself and unleashed pillars of fire from the ground, but Sonic was quick to dodge them before kicking her and knocking her into the ground. He was already behind her and she swung her sword several times but he parried all of her strikes.

Sonic: Come on, that's all you got?!

He went for a punch but she managed to block it.

Purple Heart: No, but this is!

She kicked him back and dashed at him, going for a kick that he shoved out of the way. he went for his own kick and sent her flying as she slid on the ground. Sonic then flew at her and she flew back in return.

Purple Heart: Purple Force!

She swung her sword at him and unleashed another massive, purple explosion that engulfed him and knocked the emeralds out of him. Purple Heart wasted no time and opened up a Share Field as Sonic fell to one knee. he saw that he was in another dimension.

Sonic: What is this place?

On a platform above, Neptune landed as she was in her final form, NEXT Purple.

NEXT Purple: This is my domain. In here, I am God!

Sonic: Oh yeah? We'll see about that!

Sonic stood up as the emeralds were absorbed once more, turning him back into Starfall Super Sonic.

NEXT Purple: Hmph.

He flew at her and she swung her sword, clashing with him and sending him flying through multiple platforms. She flew down and went for a spinning kick that he went to block and a shockwave formed on impact. He knocked her back and she quickly took her sword, going for a quick slash that he dodged. He went for a kick to the face that she ducked under.

Sonic: Heh!

He followed with another one that launched her into a platform. She slid on her feet as Sonic made two platforms and smashed them together, forcing NEXT Purple to teleport out of the way. She appeared in front of him and went for a kick, but he went behind her, going for a punch. She teleported behind him, swinging her sword and he parried it out of her hands. They both went for their own powerful punch and clashed, creating a shockwave around them. Before NEXT Purple could go for another punch, Sonic pushed her arm back and kicked her away.

Sonic: Too slow!

She was sent flying towards her sword, grabbing it and teleporting above Sonic's head.

NEXT Purple: We'll see about that.

She swung and knocked him down. He caught himself and launched massive fists at her that she was dodging and blocking. She looked above her as several Sonic constructs hit her with multiple homing attacks. She created a shockwave around her to knock them all back. Sonic then flew past her, wrapping her in a chain and slamming her into several floating rocks before throwing her. She caught herself and he went for a homing attack. She blocked with a barrier and he bounced off it before going for a kick that broke the barrier and sent her flying again. She recovered and he dashed at her, she swatted him away quickly.

NEXT Purple: Enough! I'm ending this here and now!

Sonic caught himself as he charged up a spin attack. She charged up the boosters on her back.

NEXT Purple: It's over! Dimensional Slice!

They both charged at each other and clashed, going for their own battle struggle. The energy around them destroyed everything as Sonic's body was slowly fading conceptually, but he hung in there. He began to use the full power of Starfall Super Sonic, breaking straight through NEXT Purple and out of the Share Field. As Neptune's body parts fell to the ground, Sonic landed on a tall building in the middle of the city.

Sonic: Whew! Just made it!

Junko: And that's all folks!

Monika: Neptune may have won last time but that was 4 years ago, so let me explain. Neptune does have her own advantages. If we compared their base forms, Neptune had way more experience and was even faster too. But that's only in their base forms.

Junko: Right, once Sonic goes Super he's got less trouble keeping up with the little Goddess. 

Monika: Both also had resistances to the hax that the other had, Sonic's super form provided much better protection.

Junko: Sure, Neptune would be immune to the power of Chaos Control, but the Super Form protected Sonic from Solaris, who was about to destroy the Past, Present, and Future on the conceptual level.

Monika: Very similar to Neptune's strongest attack, the Dimensional Slash. 

Junko: Now you might be wondering about Neptune's own immortality. 

Monika: It's true Sonic has no means of killing Neptune permanently as she'll come back afterward, but through our own rules if you can't come back immediately after death then it is a loss.

Laharl: Hah! That little turd couldn't hold a candle to the great Laharl!

Neptune: Hey, shut up you! You're not even in this debate!

Monika: The winner is Sonic.

- Connections: Both are cocky overconfident and carefree heroes tasked with protecting their homeland. They also boast about their abilities and always jump in head first in battle without thinking about the consequences. Despite them having a massive responsibility they do not take it seriously at all and often undermine serious or grim situations always trying to cheer up the mood when they can. They use a powerful power source (Chaos and Shares) which grants them the ability to transform into stronger forms. Their friends are very similar, they have a shy and soft sidekick who is an expert in mechanics (tails and Nepgear) who looks up to them despite their flaws. They have a black and red tinted rival in which they teach them the value of life and give them a greater purpose. At one point they even meet a warrior similar to them (another hedgehog and another CPU) from another time when their universe is in ruins they eventually get into conflict before agreeing to help each other. They care very much for their friends and instantly get serious when they are in danger. Their arch nemesis is an egotistical manipulative villain who commands and leads big armies (Airfoire and Robotnik) they antagonize the heroes due to them fouling their plans for world domination. They are very gluttonous for a specific type of food (Sweets for Neptune while Sonic prefers saltier food) and are often seen munching on something that is considered their signature food (chili dogs and pudding)

Monika: And that's it for Season 6. This was probably the shortest season we've had since Season 1. Not that it matters, we've got plenty more where that came from in Season 7.
