Monika: Being the Princess of the Night, Princess Luna ruled Equestria alongside her sister, Celestia.

Junko: But it's kinda boring ruling at night. Everyone's asleep but you, meaning nobody is really there for you to rule. Of course, because everyone is up when Celestia is in charge, this also makes Celestia the more favorable of the two sisters.

Monika: And so, this would cause Luna to grow jealous of her sister, allowing for all those negative emotions to come together and transform her into Nightmare Moon. Celestia would then banish her to the Moon and rule Equestria for the next 1,000 years.

Junko: That is until Nightmare Moon came back, threatening to turn Equestria into an endless night! 

Monika: But luckily, this time Princess Twilight would save the day. With the help of her friends, she would use her magic to revert Nightmare Moon back to Princess Luna, allowing for her to make amends and once again be Equastria's second princess.

Junko: And the protector of their dreams!

Monika: As an Alicorn, Luna has the immense speed of a Pegasus, the immense strength of an Earth Pony, and the immense magical power of a Unicorn all turned up to eleven.

Junko: Yeah, no kidding. We're talking about someone who can casually move the moon every night as if it's nothing. And considering Celestia can move both the sun and the moon, Luna should be able to do the same. 

Monika: Luna's speed should be comparable to her sisters as well, especially considering Celestia was able to generate a wave of magic that traveled through all of Equestria's dreams, each dream containing an infinite hallway of doors leading to infinite futures that could happen based on your actions.

Junko: And Luna was able to link an entire town into one giant shared dream!

Monika: Right, without a doubt Luna is the best Pony.

Monika: She's smart, wise, and considerate, albeit a tad bit intimidating. She has a thousand years of experience and with that experience, she's proven how well-adjusted she is.

Junko: Right, she already can't die of old age, and with her wings, she can fly pretty much wherever she wants. But you know what makes her really special? Her sheer magical power!

Monika: Right, as stated before, Luna has immense magical powers and can use them to perform a variety of magical spells.

Junko: She can create duplicates of herself, create energy barriers, fire energy blasts, control the weather, move objects with her mind, turn objects into living creatures, create portals to other dimensions, shapeshift into pretty much whatever she wants, turn you into stone, or even turn herself intangible.

Monika: She can also sense the corruption of others, corrupt others, and absorb magic. In one timeline, she successfully banished Celestia to the moon and created a world of eternal night. But her most powerful ability is one that allows her to control dreams.

Monika: In fact, the Dream World is pretty much her domain as she has complete control over it, so much so that she can control the environment around her and control not just her shape and size but yours as well. She can even control your shadow.

Junko: Yeah, she normally goes into other's dreams to prevent nightmares, but she's not afraid to deliver some of her own if necessary as she's pretty much warping reality with her powers. She even saw through and undid Discord's reality-warping shenanigans in the Dream World!

Monika: Luna's control over dreams is so strong, that she once accidentally made a nightmare that nearly tore its way out of the Dream World and into reality, where it would have turned all of Equestria into a living nightmare.

Junko: Why was she torturing herself with nightmares anyway?

Monika: A punishment for her sins and because of her fear of losing control again, inevitably becoming Nightmare Moon.

Monika: A more twisted, evil, and crueler version of herself. Nightmare Moon was the very first person Twilight and her friends had to go against.

Junko: Oh right, and she's way more powerful than Luna herself right?

Monika: Well, some believe she's more powerful while others believe she's just as powerful, only she's using Luna's powers more violently, similar to an evil Superman that's decided to stop holding back and kill everyone.

Junko: Well, regardless of whether she's more powerful or not, she still has access to the most powerful weapon in the series, the Elements of Harmony!

Junko: They're basically the Chaos Emeralds, except there are six of them. When they're separate, they're powerless, but together they're incredibly powerful!

Monika: They were used to undo Discord's reality-warping powers and even turned him into stone temporarily. In fact, they were even used to turn her back from being Nightmare Moon as they can purify almost anything.

Junko: Not just purify, they can nullify your magical power entirely! They can create forcefields, create portals, petrify you, and even undo mind control. But it doesn't make Luna unbeatable.

Monika: While she can turn back from Nightmare Moon on her own at times and she does have access to the Elements of Harmony, these same Elements can revert her back to Luna.

Junko: She's also a tad bit socially awkward, but a thousand years on the moon will do that to you.

Monika: But she will continue to atone for her sins and help her sister rule over equestrian one hoove at a time.

Luna: Sometimes we can worry about a thing so much, the fear can make us feel we're trapped in a nightmare.
