Overlord Laharl vs The Demi-Fiend: Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series

Junko: No matter how you look at it, demons are powerful creatures. Some might say they're a little too powerful. And these two are proof of just how dangerous a demon can be.

Monika: Laharl, the Overlord of Disgaea.

Junko: And the Demi-Fiend, Shin Megami Tensei's very own Doom Slayer.

Monika: The stage is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

Laharl was sitting on his throne. By his side were Etna and Flonne. Laharl had his arms and legs crossed as he saw the Demi-Fiend approaching. Behind him were Pixie and Dante.

Laharl: You dare enter my lair?

Pixie: Sorry, but this will be our new home now. We've been given direct orders to kill you.

Etna: Hold on, you can't just do that!

Flonne: Yeah! You and what army?!

Etna: Wait, if you say that then-

Just after she said that, the Demi-Fiend summoned all 200 of his demons.

Etna: That will happen...

Laharl: Hehehehehe... Ahahahahahaaa!

Laharl stood from his throne. His own minions coming out all at once.

Laharl: Go ahead and try to defeat me! But nobody is beating the great and powerful Laharl!

Dante: Looks like someone isn't very cooperative. What are you gonna do about it, kid?

Demi-Fiend: ... Kill them.

Both armies clashed as Flonne dropped a bunch of spike balls down on Demi-Fiend. Pixie blew a massive wind to blow them away and Flonne away too as the two battled on the right. Dante then dashed at Laharl and swung his sword, but Etna's spear blocked it. Dante kicked her away and took her on, fighting her to the left. Meanwhile, Laharl and Demi-Fiend continued to stare each other down.

Laharl: Heh, this is gonna be too easy!

Laharl was the first to dash at the Demi-Fiend and go for a punch. The Fiend went for a punch of his own and the two clashed. The Demi-Fiend then went for another punch and knocked him back. As Laharl slid on his feet, Demi-Fiend fired an energy blast from his hand. Laharl jumped to the side and dodged it as it caused a massive explosion.

Laharl: Fuahahahahaha! Hm?

He glanced behind him as Cu Chulainn had jumped down, swinging his spear. Laharl dodged it and hit him with an aura punch that sent Cu flying and blew him up. The Demi-Fiend then kicked the air and fired several projectiles, all of them hitting their target and blowing up on impact. Lahar's eyes glowed red through the debris as he jumped out of it along with several clones.

Laharl: Says a lot when you need help from your demons to beat me!

Each clone fired a colorful projectile that blew up in the Demi-Fiend's face. The Demi-Fiend dispersed the debris with an energy blade on his hand, cutting through the clones and knocking Laharl back. The Fiend then dashed at him with the blade and Laharl pulled out a sword of his own, clashing with the Demi-Fiend who quickly used his other hand to grab him by the neck. He slammed the Overlord to the ground and went to stab him. Before he could, Flonne noticed and pushed Pixie back with a Love Punch before flying into the air.

Flonne: Oh no you don't! Holy Arrow!

She fired several arrows down on the Demi-Fiend, forcing him to get back. Pixie then unleashed a massive wind at both Laharl and Flonne. As Laharl was sent back, Flonne turned into Flonnezilla, growing in size and swinging her tail while also breathing fire. She shot a massive laser out of her eyes, obliterating Pixie. The Demi-Fiend dodged the laser and fired a beam of his own through his mouth, blowing Flonne's head clean off. As Flonne fell, Parvati and Titania flew past the Demi-Fiend and unleashed a massive burst of wind at Laharl, who flew straight past the wind and pulled out his sword, swinging it.

Laharl: Nether Slash!

He cut straight through them. As he did, Thor came in swinging his massive hammer. Laharl blocked it, knocking the God of Thunder back before sending a massive spike of ice straight through his chest. As Thor disappeared, the Demi-Fiend dashed at the Overlord and went for a powerful punch. Laharl dodged it and swung his sword as Demi-Fiend formed an energy blade. The two clashed several times before Demi-Fiend grabbed him by the face, slamming him into the ground hard enough to form a crater and throwing him through several massive pillars. Laharl quickly recovered and slid on his feet. He swung his sword and fired an energy wave that the Demi-Fiend dodged. The wave nearly hit Etna and Dante but the two quickly dodged it.

Etna: Hey! Watch where you're aiming that thing! Hm?

As she spoke, Cerberus and Arahabaki came at her. The Cerberus lunged at her first but she stabbed it with her trident as Arahabaki came from behind. Laharl lunged forward and sliced the God of Rebellion in two. Dante then fired at both of them and they quickly dodged. Laharl dashed at Dante and they clashed swords. Dante pushed him back as Etna dashed at him for a kick. The Demi-Fiend intervened with a punch and the two clashed as time stopped. Dante was about to shoot Etna, but Laharl was still moving and went for a swing of his sword. Dante ducked under it and went to shoot him instead, but Laharl dodged the bullets, teleported behind him, and stabbed him in the back.

Dante: Heh, not bad kid.

Time resumed as Dante swung his sword and Laharl got back.

Laharl: Who are you calling a kid?!

Etna: Prinny Raid!

A bunch of flaming Prinnys were launched at Dante, who sent them all flying away with a swing of his sword as Laharl dashed at him, taking his blade out of Dante's chest and going for a punch.

Laharl: Big Bang!

He punched Dante so hard, it created a massive Blackhole. One so large it started to suck in all of the Demi-Fiend's demons. Before it could get any bigger, the Demi-Fiend unleashed a powerful blast of energy that destroyed the Blackhole. He then looked around for Laharl and Etna but they were nowhere to be seen.

Etna: Looking for us?

He looked up to see Etna and Laharl riding a meteor down towards him. He unleashed a massive burst of Hellfire, but that didn't stop the meteor as it crashed into him, creating a massive explosion and destroying the entire palace, leaving nothing but chaos and destruction as Laharl and Etna stood tall.

Laharl: Hmhmhmhm... Hmhmhmhmhmhm!... Haaaaaaaahahahahahaha!!!!

Etna: Hold on, why do I hear boss music?

As she said that, the Demi-Fiend burst from the rubble, grabbing Etna by the neck and holding her up high. The blue lines across his body had all turned bright red as he spoke one single word.

Demi-Fiend: Perish...

He then unleashed a burst of Hellfire, reducing Etna to nothing but bone. Laharl quickly dashed at him as Demi-Fiend unleashed several projectiles that destroyed everything around them. Laharl dodged them and swung his sword but Demi-Fiend ducked under it and punched him away. Laharl slid on his feet and threw his sword like a boomerang. Demi-Fiend swatted it away as Laharl dashed at him again. They both went for powerful punches and created a massive shockwave but Laharl wasn't done as he kneed Demi-Fiend in the face and went for a flaming punch.

Laharl: Take this!

He sent the Fiend flying and dashed at him. Demi-Fiend landed on his feet but Laharl punched him again, sending him flying into a pile of rubble. Demi-Fiend unleashed a massive shockwave to disperse the rubble, but as soon as he did, he was transported to a different dimension entirely. Laharl threw his sword into a nearby star as it started raining magical meteorites that the Demi-Fiend was forced to block.

Laharl: It's over! Overlord Dimension!

He punched the main mateor straight into the Demi-Fiend, who went for a massive punch of his own. The impact created a giant explosion that destroyed the dimension entirely. Once the smoke cleared, Laharl was on one knee breathing heavily. He smiled as there was nothing around him but smoke and ashes.

Laharl: Hehehehe... nobody can defeat the great Laharl! Ahahahaha!

As he laughed in victory, all of the demons that were destroyed by the Black Hole reemerged, surrounding Laharl.

Laharl: What?!

Before he could say another word, the Demi-Fiend was right behind him, stabbing straight through Laharl's body and grabbing his heart before crushing it.

Laharl: Geh... Im... possible...

He slammed Laharl into the ground.

Demi-Fiend: ... Gaea Rage...

He unleashed a massive explosion, powerful enough to reduce Laharl into nothing. The smoke cleared as the Demi-Fiend stood tall with all his Demons behind him.

Junko: Finally! We managed to get this battle out!

Monika: This battle was pretty solid, with both being able to destroy entire infinite multiverses with little to no effort. But while Laharl has way more experience by his belt and is surprisingly smarter, the Demi-Fiend still has the upper hand.

Junko: With his Magatama, the Demi-Fiend could make himself resistant to pretty much anything Laharl threw at him. Hell, his strongest Magatama would just repel all that damage back at Laharl himself!

Monika: His demons were also nothing to scoff at, being far stronger than almost anyone Laharl could summon. And even if Laharl did destroy some of them, Demi-Fiend could always just summon them back at any moment.

Junko: It really didn't help that Demi-Fiend fought foes as strong and possibly even stronger than Laharl daily. A kick to the Shin was all he needed to Demi-olish Laharl with an Overkill.

Monika: The winner is the Demi-Find.

Kokonoe's Trivia: Battle # 184

Connections- Both originated from and are the main characters of entries in mildly obscure JRPG series known for long-ass playtimes, overpowered-as-shit characters, demonic association, banging music, and challenging gameplay. | Both are young, skinny, lanky, scruffy-haired, wear shorts and have a seeming resentment for shirts... | Both of their stories begin with them very literally waking up to a drastic change in their worlds, and their parents being deceased which... Kinda doesn't get much of a reaction out of them. | Both are plenty capable in hand-to-hand combat largely with their bare fists, while also having a whole heap of magic-based skills and sometimes wielding swords. | Both are frankly Overpowered beyond belief, easily on a cosmic tier of destructive capability | Half breeds, both being half human and half demon. Both are also Demon Lords | Both are predominantly associated with the imagery of hellish landscapes/wastelands | Though they are plenty capable on their own, they also take a liking to commanding their demonic summons to fight alongside them (I'd also feel bad if I didn't mention the similarities between Prinnies and Jack Frost) | Both series are notable for having their leveling up systems and levels be a canonical part of the story | Both have fought off countless likewise overpowered as shit demon bosses throughout their stories | Both have an extremely iconic final fuck off an attack that results in a giant explosion | In contrast, Hitoshura was a human who rejected his humanity and embraced demonhood, letting go of his friends and any connections. Laharl was a demon that learned to accept his emotions and embraced a more human side while learning that despite loving to act like an asshole, he kinda did care for his friends. | Also in contrast, one is insanely loud-mouthed and boastful while the other doesn't talk
