Monika: Mirajane Strauss was very young when her parents died, forcing her to live as an orphan in a church and take care of her younger siblings. That being her brother, Elfman, and her sister, Lisanna. Everything was pretty peaceful until a demon attacked her village. Luckily Mirajane was the one who managed to defeat it, but then something strange happened.

Junko: Yeah, her arm started to take the appearance of the demon she killed. Everyone immediately came to the same conclusion. She must have been possessed! And with that in mind, the entire village despised her, believing her to be some sort of monster!

Monika: She ended up forced to flee from her village with her younger siblings. Together, the three of them will find themselves joining the biggest guild in Mongolia, Fairy Tail. 

Junko: And with further good news, they also find out that Mirajane wasn't being possessed at all! She was just using Takeover Magic! More on that later. 

Monika: And so Mirajane would become a beloved member of Fairy Tail, rising up the ranks and becoming an S-Rank wizard at the young age of 16, the second youngest to ever achieve such a status. She would even become one of the few rivals to Erza Scarlett, one of the strongest female wizards in Fairy Tail.

Junko: But it wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows. Elfman and Lisanna were also learning Takeover Magic and one day, Elfman went berserk and ended up killing Lisanna. Or at least presumably killing her... it's a long story.

Monika: Regardless, the thought of losing her sister broke her. She ended up semi-retiring as a Fairy Tail wizard and worked as a waitress for the guild as well as a modeling career on the side. But don't let her new demeanor fool you. She may have gone from sadistic and tomboyish to a kind and gentle mother figure to the guild, but she's not the one you want to anger.

Junko: She's strong enough to destroy entire cities, overpower Elfman's beast mode, evaporate an entire sea, and demolish numerous opponents! She's Erza's rival in both beauty and power!

Monika: Actually, due to her semi-retirement, she has grown weaker over the years, but she has beaten Grey in a weakened state. So while she might not be as strong as Erza anymore, she should still be relatively close in terms of power.

Junko: And Erza is powerful enough to destroy meteors with all her bones broken!

Monika: Despite being battle-worn from facing Elfman and Evergreen and then going on to face Azuma, Mirajane was able to survive after taking the brunt of Azuma's 180-second Time Bomb for her sister, who wasn't dead after all. 

Junko: She's been hit by fire, ice, and lightning with no injuries whatsoever, and was even poisoned but still managed to knock out the chick that poisoned her like it was nothing! She's even taken a direct hit from Lucy's Lion Maiden form with little to no injury!

Monika: She's also very smart.

Monika: Mirajane has displayed a clever intellect, and, most importantly, a deep knowledge of Magic and its related world. She was able to understand how the Super Mage Giant Phantom MK II's spell, Abyss Break, worked after observing it for just a short moment.

Junko: Yeah, she's more than just a pretty face. When she steps into battle, she's a complete sadist who can completely overwhelm almost anyone she's up against! 

Monika: She can use other various magical abilities as well. For example, she can use water magic to generate, manipulate, and control water. She can also use sleep magic to put her opponents to sleep. If her opponent is far away or if she wants to put more than one to sleep, she can use Dream Knock to fire off bubble-like bullets that put her foes to rest. 

Junko: She's also able to use transformation magic. In fact, it's one of her specialties.

Monika: Right, she's so good at it that she can perform Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Level transformations with ease.

Junko: You know how Lisanna can turn certain body parts into animal parts? Like turning her arms into wings or growing cat ears? Yeah, Mirajane can do the same thing.

Monika: But her preferred type of magic she can use is Takeover Magic.

Monika: Mirajane is a skilled user of Take Over, a type of Magic which, as the name suggests, allows her to take over the powers and appearances of particular creatures she really "knows". She shares such Magic with her siblings Elfman and Lisanna, something which made them known as the "Take Over Siblings". The particular form she employs shares the name of her signature spell, Satan Soul.

Junko: She can actually control demons too, letting her control Demons and manipulate them to do her bidding! Like when she took control of a bunch of tentacle demons and simultaneously made them all blow up!

Monika: As far as taking over the powers and abilities of a demon, this has given her access to a variety of different transformations, including her main Satan Soul form.

Monika: In this form, Mirajane's speed, strength, and durability are increased even further. She gains wings to fly and an immunity to poison. Plus, she gains access to dark magic. With Dark Magic, she can enhance her physical combat capabilities, create powerful blasts, explosions, shields, and even shape the darkness into claw-like tendrils capable of chasing after opponents.

Junko: She has two versions of Evil Explosion. A dark version and a water version depending on her surroundings. With the dark version, she holds her hands together and a dark-colored sphere gathers on her palm. She releases it from her hand and unleashes a devastating explosion! And with the water version, she lifts a body of water, even one as big as a river, with her arms, and then starts rotating, sending the water flying toward her foe in a powerful whirlpool!

Monika: With Soul Extinctor, Mirajane gathers energy from the surrounding area between her hands, which subsequently takes the form of a large, black globe. The globe then fires a large black-purple beam that generates a devastating explosion.

Junko: She can create a purple energy beam with both Demon Blast, a massive dark pillar with Evil Orb, darkness bullets with Evil Shower, and an explosive punch with... Explosion Punch.

Monika: With Dark Deflect, Mirajane can deflect an incoming attack with a glance. With Evil Spark, she extends both of her hands to touch the opponent, subsequently channeling electricity through them. And with Satan Blast, she extends her arms and creates a swirling, disintegrating, spherical blast. 

Junko: She has more than this though. Next is Satan Soul Halphas!

Junko: In this form, she's much stronger, faster, and more durable than in her Satan Soul form! Hell, she's got a new set of wings and fuckin' horns! So she can still fly and she can still use Dark Deflect.

Monika: She can also use the Halphas Blast, where she charges darkness energy that is fired toward the target and creates a massive explosion. In addition, she can cause pink-colored Magic projectiles to rain down at the target, powerful enough to damage and destroy the surrounding area.

Junko: And there's her strongest transformation, or at least what was her strongest for most of the series, Satan Soul Sitri.

Junko: While she doesn't have wings in this form, she does have a badass cap and a new pair of horns. She can also use Evil Shower in this form as well as Sitri Inferno, where she emits fire from her feet that grants a jet propulsion effect, to perform powerful physical attacks by enhancing its impact, all while also hitting her target with fire!

Monika: Right, she can use these flames to fly and increase her already immense speed and strength. But while this used to be her most powerful form, that title now goes to Satan Soul Mirajane Seilah. 

Junko: Wait, I thought Seliah wasn't affected by Mira's powers?

Monika: Well, that's because both of their abilities counter each other, so Mirajane beat her to near death and weakened her just enough for her to absorb her that way. Thus saving her life at the cost of Seliah losing control of her own body.

Junko: Damn. Well, with this transformation, Mirajane can use the Curse magic known as Marco.

Monika: Curses are said to be superior to regular magic as they cannot be nullified. In this case, the ability known as Marco allows her to fully control the body of victims and manipulate them through "orders". This curse can work on anyone living or dead, though it has been stated it's better when used on the living as using it on a corpse doesn't function well.

Junko: This ability isn't limited to people either. Seliah used it to summon a bunch of books and manipulate them freely, allowing her to use techniques like Library Heave or Book Fling! She even used it on herself!

Monika: And in doing so, she can tap into a transformation known as her Etherious form.

Monika: In this form, she's- wait, where is her shirt?

Junko: Ha! It's Fairy Tail! You didn't expect any type of fanservice?! And I didn't even say-

Monika: Junko, I will literally shove a bar of soap in your mouth if you make a perverted joke. 

Junko: Puhuhuhu!

Monika: Anyway, since Mirajane's Seliah form can do everything Seliah can do, it makes sense for Mirajane to have access to this form as well. All she would have to do is turn her Macro upon herself and order her own limits away. In this form, she can fly and her speed is greatly enhanced. She can also use her sharp arms to cut and slash at her opponent.

Junko: And she can grow eyes on her hands to unleash a huge blast of Demonic energy!

Monika: Of course, she doesn't just transform with Marco. She can also use it to summon her brother, Elfman, whenever she wants. 

Junko: But we gotta talk about Mira's huge... Gigantic... extraordinary...

Monika: Don't you dare...

Junko: Claws that she gains when she enters her Alegria form.

Monika: Oh um... right... this is a form she achieved after consuming all the souls remaining in the aftermath of Fairy Tail's victory over Tartaros. This transformation is so powerful, it can evaporate a sea of water from her mere presence! And it was enough to one-shot Irene's own Juliet Sun and Heine Lunasea! Definitely a huge increase in speed and strength, though it does take a lot out of her.

Junko: Yeah, especially with her big... beautiful...

Monika: Junko...

Junko: Weaknesses. 

Junko: What did you think I was gonna say?

Monika: I know what you're doing... anyway, while Mirajane holds a lot of power, she does have her fair share of weaknesses. For one, her magic supply is vast but limited. Mirajane often finds herself running low on energy after using it all at once, which is why her battles often last less than 5 minutes.

Junko: She's also a bit too nice. Instinctively holding back when others are watching since she doesn't want to scare her friends. We've only really seen her go all out twice, and one of those times she was going berserk.

Monika: But 5 minutes is all she needs. Everyone better watch out, because if you pick a fight with Fairy Tail, you're also picking a fight with one of their most powerful female wizards...

Junko: Mirajane Strauss!.... Oh, did I mention that she has a nice pair of-

Mirajane: You only made one big mistake. You know when I'm in the tournament or my friends are close to me, in other words, when someone is looking, I tend to restrain my power. Maybe it's an issue made by that contradiction. But when I'm alone... That's when I can release my full power!
