Junko: The fourth great ninja way has gone underway. Obito has made everyone think he was Madara, playing 3D chess and planting all the pieces together. And once the real Madara came in all his badass glory, he would reveal that while they were playing 3D chess, he was playing 4D chess! He was the real big bad all along! ... Or so he thought as it was revealed that Zetsu had been using Madara and playing 5D chess all along! And on top of that, he reveals that someone who hasn't been mentioned at all throughout the story had been playing 6D chest behind the scenes! Manipulating the events of the Shinobi world through Zetsu, himself! This person was none other than the Mother of Chakra, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki!

Monika: Um... for a more simpler explanation, let's back up a thousand years into the past. Before there were hidden villages and powerful ninja clans, there was the Ōtsutsuki clan. 

Junko: They're basically a bunch of alien gods who go to different planets to create God Trees and in turn, create Chakra Fruits in an attempt to ascend into even greater godhood. Members of this clan often travel in groups of two... a higher-ranking member to eat the fruit and a lesser-ranking member to become the sacrifice that eats the fruit. 

Monika: Kaguya was actually the family's lower members and had come to Earth with her superior, Isshiki. But Kaguya wasn't exactly a fan of the whole sacrificing thing so she quite literally stabbed Isshiki in the back, cutting him in half and leaving the guy who was supposed to be much stronger than she was for dead... or so she thought, but that's a story for another day.

Junko: So Kaguya pretty much betrayed her clan and ruled the human race as their Goddess. She even got a husband and two kids in the process. But humans have always been the type to fear what they don't understand, so they turned on her the moment they realized just how powerful she really was. 

Monika: And so she ate the Chakra Fruit and trapped almost everyone into an Infinite Tsukuyomi. And just in case her clan comes to attack, she would turn some of the humans into White Zetsu as her personal army.

Junko: Yeah, her sons didn't like this. So they fought their mother for 6 months straight before sealing her away and turning her into the literal moon!

Monika: So was there just no moon before that or...?

Junko: Who cares? Kaguya managed to extend her will through Black Zetsu, who would free Kaguya a thousand years later, and she would show the world her wrath.

Monika: It's no secret that when Kaguya returned, she did not lose touch. She could easily overpower Six Paths Sage mode Naruto and Sasuke. With one arm she could one-shot hundreds of Six Paths Sage mode Naruto clones and shatter Sasuke's Perfect Susanoo.

Junko: Naruto himself was fast enough to dodge lasers and survived an attack that sliced the moon in half!

Monika: She also blitzed Kakashi and Sakura, even overwhelming Sakura. The same Sakura who can one-shot Kaiju and launch a 400-ton iron block into the air. She tanked through all 9 Tailed Beast Bomb Rasenshurikens with only Superficial injury. Only one of these things is enough to destroy an entire continent. Meanwhile, she was completely unphased by attacks that overpowered Eighty Gods Vacuum Punch!

Junko: It's no wonder her two sons needed to seal her away and create the moon just to get rid of her! She's a freakin' monster!

Monika: Kaguya is actually pretty smart, having extended her will through Black Zetsu and controlling the history of the Shinobi World from further behind the behind the scenes. Manipulating everyone into unsealing her without them even realizing it. 

Junko: She's incredibly skilled at hand-to-hand, to the point of overwhelming both Sasuke and Sakura. Her main fighting style is the gentle fist technique, which she's obviously far better at than any other practitioner of the technique. 

Monika: The Gentle Fist Technique is a form of hand-to-hand combat that injects one's own chakra through strikes into the foe's chakra pathways, causing severe internal damage even with a light tap, hence the name.

Junko: Still, when it comes to her real battle strategy, you better get ready because she uses ALL of her abilities to her advantage!

Monika: Including the Byakugan.

Junko: Wait, that's what that is? I thought she was blind.

Monika: Nope. It's one of the three great Dojutsu that originate from Kaguya's bloodline. It grants her a 360-degree diameter of vision with a small blind spot at the back of the neck. It lets her see far distances, with Hinata being able to see up to 20 kilometers away. The Byakugan lets Kaguya see through any solid object or obstacle and can help her discern clones from the real person.

Junko: She can read the fate of other people, as well as their emotions and memories. These eyes also extend the range of Genjutsu, which works really well with her Rinne-Sharingan. 

Monika: The third eye that appears on her forehead. After eating the Chakra Fruit, Kaguya was the only one in the entire series aside from Madara and the Ten Tails to unlock it.

Junko: This power is basically a combination of the other two Great Dojutsu, that being the Rinnegan and the Sharingan. So let's start off with the Sharingan.

Monika: With the power of the Sharingan, Kaguya can create Genjutsu, which is pretty much trapping your opponent in an illusion and sometimes even hypnotizing them. She can also read body movement, predicting what her foe is going to do before they do it. And she can even copy her opponent's techniques to a certain extent.

Junko: Of course, the Rinnegan can do a lot more!

Junko: The power of this eye allows Kaguya to see things that aren't normally visible to the naked eye. It also gives her an immunity to things like stopping time. 

Monika: And the abilities of the six paths of pain. Meaning she can remove your soul with the Human, bring back the dead with the Naraka Path, absorb chakra with the Preta Path, augment her body with mechanical weaponry using the Asura Path, summon animals using the Animal Path, and control gravity with the Delta Path.

Junko: The Delta Path is especially dangerous since it can repel attacks and create omnidirectional shockwaves. The Rinnegan lets her create chakra-transmitting black receivers that immobilize other people. She can even seal people up in the same giant ball that her sons sealed her in to create the moon!

Monika: And it allows Kaguya to use certain techniques like the Yomotsu Hirasaka.

Monika: Kaguya can transport herself through locations by opening a rift in spacetime. She can send a target through a rift to isolate them or launch sneak attacks by entering a rift

Junko: Ame... maka?

Junko: What she said!

Monika: Through her third eye, Kaguya can create and teleport through dimensions. She can instantly teleport anyone anywhere within these dimensions, whether it be a sea of lava or inside a block of ice. She can also freely control what's inside the dimensions since they're of her own creation.

Junko: Yeah, Kaguya had created up to six of her own personal dimensions. Some of which have a sun, moons, or even full-on stars in the sky. As stated before, she has full control of each dimension. There's her Volcanic Dimension covered in caves and lava, her ice dimension where she controls snow and ice, a large desert dimension, a dimension full of acid, a world where gravity is incredibly high, and her 'core world' where her power gradually increases.

Monika: The Rinne-Sharingan also gives Kaguya access to the Infinite Tsukyomi.

Monika: This jutsu casts the Rinne-Sharingan upon the moon, creating a penetrating light to shine upon the world. This light will dispel the night as long as it is active. 

Junko: Everyone under the moon's light are trapped inside a Genjutsu that appears as a dream world to them.

Monika: This allows them to be wrapped by the God Tree's Roots since only Rinnegan users can block the light out. Still, we've been talking about all her abilities with Chakra and we haven't discussed her Chakra itself.

Monika: Chakra is a force originally belonging to the god trees. Its power was gained by Kaguya after she ate its fruit and now it's considered a form of life energy. 

Junko: Kaguya is the original user of all chakra, and has access to ALL of its techniques, including flying, walking on walls, walking on water, enhancing her physical strength, creating illusions, creating barriers, creating seals, absorbing chakra, creating clones, teleporting, and manipulating spacetime.

Monika: She can also use elemental attacks like fire, earth, water, wind, and thunder. She can even mix these elements up for different effects like controlling wood or lava. 

Junko: And she can use techniques such as the Rabbit Hair Needle!

Junko: Yeah, Kaguya has full control over her hair, allowing her to lengthen and turn her hair into needles. These hair needles are so sharp they can pierce through Sasuke's Perfect Susanoo.

Monika: Then there's her Eighty Gods Vacuum Fist.

Monika: Where she focuses her Chakra into Chakra Fist and JoJo punches all of her enemies! This technique is so strong it can... shatter the Perfect Susanoo...

Junko: Yeah, that Susanoo ain't lookin' too perfect if you ask me.

Monika: Well, my personal favorite of her techniques is her All-Killing Ash Bones.

Junko: Okay, that sounds like a really dumb name.

Monika: Well the name should be taken literally. This ability alters her bones, turning them into spikes. These can be used as melee weapons or fired off as projectiles. When they pierce a target, her foe will turn to dust and disintegrate.

Junko: She likes to combine this with Yomotsu Hirasaka but it's not even her most powerful move! That goes to her Expansive Truth Seeking Ball!

Junko: Definitely her ultimate attack, and one she uses after absorbing the God Tree! Using this, she creates a massively expanding truth-seeking ball that destroys everything around it! This ability was to be used to reshape the world by reducing it and everything in it to nothing!

Monika: Right, this jutsu could have erased the whole dimension she was in, a feat normally far above her normal firepower. She does need to focus to create such a thing, but she can still make it from nothing.

Junko: And she has free access to the power of the Ten Tails!

Junko: Holy shit, what the hell is that?!

Monika: That is Kaguya's true form after merging with the god tree and the other tailed beasts. She becomes a giant rabbit-like monster, with the heads of the other tailed beasts inside her. Black Zetsu noted the transformation wasn't intentional, implying she can access it at will.

Junko: In this form, Kaguya gains the abilities of the other Tailed Beast. She gets a malleable body, chakra arms, and the ability to fire off a Tailed Beast Bomb. 

Monika: Not only can she still fly, but she can shoot massive and ricocheting lasers from her... mouths. And since she absorbed the others, should have the ability to control their powers, letting her control sand, blue fire, boiling water, acid, ink, wind, and scale powder.

Junko: Scale Powder? Really?

Monika: Well, she may be a goddess but she's not perfect.

Junko: Kaguya can be pretty arrogant at times, though her arrogance can be backed up. And it's not like she's devoid of emotions. She hesitated to fight Naruto and Sasuke since they reminded her of her children, so she still has emotion left in her. But she's surprisingly not much of a strategist either.

Monika: Yet despite these drawbacks, Kaguya managed to hold her own against Team 7. Appearing nigh-unkillable in their eyes. The only way for them to truly put her down, was to seal her away once again, this time having her stuck in her own dimension. 

Junko: Let's face it though, this is anime. And with everything going on with her family right now, she'll definitely be back. And when she comes back, it will not be pretty.

Kaguya: This place... this Earth is my precious nursery. I cannot allow you to damage it anymore... Let us end this battle. Here... I shall erase you all from existence right now.
