Junko: You know, there are some people out there who like to have nice and peaceful lives, meditate and chill. But at the same time, there are those out there who were just born to kill.

Monika: Like Akame, the One-Cut Assassin from Akame ga Kill.

Junko: And Raiden, Metal Gear's own badass cyborg ninja!

Monika: The stage is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

It was the middle of the night. Akame was in the city hidden in the shadows as she was looking at a letter she got from Junko.

"Hey Akame! I know I said once you lose, you would no longer be in another one of these Death Battles, but I got one more person we need you to take care of. Think you can do that for me? He's a man in a mechanical body who should be passing you as soon as you're down with this letter."

Once she stopped reading, a car drove past at high speeds. She let out a sigh before confirming her target.

Akame: Very well... time to... eliminate.

She dashed towards the car at high speeds before jumping on top of it. She then stabbed down into the car. Right before she did, Raiden jumped out of the vehicle, kicking the car and flipping it in an attempt to send Akame flying, but Akame landed on her feet and slid on the ground, turning to face him as the car blew up behind her. Raiden got his sword ready as he noticed who attacked him.

Raiden: A child? "Doktor, are you seeing this?"

Doktor: "Indeed, the young assassin known as Akame. She was an assassin for the Empire years ago but is now a wanted vigilante. Do not underestimate her."

Raiden: "Got it."

Akame dashed at him and swung her sword, which he blocked with a blade of his own.

Akame: (He's fast!)

She spun and went for another swing but he blocked it and went for a kick which Akame ducked under. They both swung their blades again and clashed as Raiden went for another kick. Akame blocked it with her sword and was knocked back, sliding on her feet and dashing back at him, thrusting her sword at his chest. He blocked it and knocked her back.

Raiden: (She's not giving me a chance for a breather.)

He quickly drops a smoke grenade that blinded Akame. She used her other senses to try and predict his movements. As she did, Raiden struck at him from all directions and she started blocking his attacks, sensing his killing intent. However, she remained on the defensive.

Akame: (It's pointless. I can't get in close. I've got to get out of this smoke.)

She quickly jumped up out of the smoke and started running up a nearby building.

Raiden: Oh no you don't!

He jumped out of the smoke as well, running up the building and chasing after her. They both ran up to the roof before Akame made the first strike, swinging at his head. Raiden ducked under her blade and went for an upper slash, causing Akame to flip back and dodge. As soon as she landed on her feet, Raiden infused his sword with electricity and swung it, sending Akame crashing into a different building. She flipped back to her feet as a bunch of civilians were fleeing. She then looked up to see Raiden throwing a Sai. She jumped to the side to dodge it. Once she saw the Sai turning around, she jumped back and dodged it again as it returned to Raiden's hand, who was holding a rocket launcher.

Raiden: Now then, try and dodge this.

He fired several missiles at Akame, who saw them and immediately jumped out of the building. She jumped onto each missile hoping closer to Raiden, but once she realized she couldn't reach him she jumped into the air and kicked her sword at him. The missiles blew up the building behind her as Raiden took out his Bloodlust Blade and swatted her sword away. As soon as she landed on her feet, he jumped off the building and went for a downward swing. She jumped back as his strike hit the ground, creating a massive crater. He then pulled out a pole-arm and dashed at her, thrusting it at her. 

She dodged them and got in close, going for a punch, but he dodged it as the pole turned into a whip. He swung it rapidly and Akame jumped out of the way. As soon as she landed, she was struck and sent flying. She slid on her feet as Raiden dashed at her, attempting to grab her. She caught his arm and kicked him away, over her sword which was stabbed to the ground. He saw it and went to grab it, but was immediately stopped.

Doktor: "Wait Raiden! Don't touch that sword!"

Raiden's hesitation allowed Akame to hit him with a dropkick, sending him flying into a large truck. She then grabbed her sword from the ground.

Akame: (He didn't grab it. Someone must be communicating with him. Warning him of danger.)

She dashed at him and thrust her sword, but he rolled under her strike, causing her to stab the truck instead. He went for a kick that Akame ducked under as he cut the truck in half. She retrieved her blade as he swung his own and the two clashed. They then jumped back as Raiden unleashed three massive bursts of electricity from the sky. Akame dodged them and dashed at him before swinging her sword. He went to block it but was knocked back as Akame hit him with a kick that sent him flying. He slid on his feet as Akame used a booster drug on herself, increasing her speed and strength even more. 

As she did that, Raiden pulled out a gun and started firing bullets rapidly at her. Akame reacted quickly, dodging the bullets. She then ran close and swung her sword again, cutting his gun in half. She reacted quickly, jumping back as Raiden entered Blade Mode and went for a Quick Draw. She managed to dodge just in time as the blade nearly grazed her shoulder.

Akame: (What was that?!)

Raiden dashed at her again, swinging his blade as she blocked it. The two rapidly swung their swords, clashing with each strike.

Akame: (For a second, his speed increased. I got lucky the first time, so I had better watch out for the second.)

She went for a downward swing, bringing his blade down before spinning and going for another swing. Raiden leaned back, dodging it and infusing his sword with electricity. They clashed and it caused a shockwave. They then butted heads before Akame knocked him back and trusted her sword. He blocks it and knees her in the gut before kicking her into the air. He then jumps up and kicks her away through several buildings. Akame rolled back to her feet, breathing heavily.

Akame: It seems... I have no choice...

She cut herself with her own blade as the curse started to take over her body. 

Raiden: "Doktor, turn off my pain inhibitors."

Doktor: "But Raiden-"

Raiden: "Just do it!"

A dark aura started to surround Akame, and a red one slowly started to do the same to Raiden.

Akame: Geh... This... pain...

Raiden: ... This is what I live for...

Akame: This is why I fight...

Black markings appeared across Akame's body as she used her Trump Card. Meanwhile, Raiden had laughed maniacally as he had become Jack the Ripper.

Jack: Ahaha! Time for Jack the Ripper to let 'er rip!

They both dashed at each other and swung their blades. They clashed, creating a shockwave around them. Jack went for a spinning kick that Akame ducked under. She went for a swing of her sword but Raiden blocked it and knocked her back.

Akame: (His movements have become different. However...)

She dashed at him and swung her sword. He swung at the same time and she used just enough strength to knock his arms back. She then quickly swung it again, cutting his arm clean off.

Akame: (All the more easier to-)

Before she could finish that thought, Jack grabbed his blade with his other hand and swung it, causing Akame to act quickly and dodge it. He dashed at her and thrust his sword but she quickly blocked his strike. She then went for a swing of her own, but Jack went for a powerful one that knocked the blade out of her hands. he then activated his Blade Mode.

Akame: (No!)

It was too late. She wasn't fast enough as be quickly cut off her arms and sliced open her stomach.

Akame: Gah! Tch!

She quickly jumped up and kicked the blade out of his hands. She then jumped into the air but Jack caught her foot. She stomped on his face, using it as leverage to jump higher and catch his blade with her mouth. She then spun and sliced his arm off while cutting open his chest. He kicked her into a building har then dashed at her.

Jack: DIE!

He went for a powerful kick. Akame was about to dodge but Jack used Blade Mode once more, slicing her up into pieces and then kicking her hard enough for her to splatter into a pool of blood. 

Jack: Hahaha! What a rush...

Junko: Well, this fight ended up a lot less one-sided than I thought it would be. 

Monika: That's probably because it was less one-sided than originally expected. Both Akame and Raiden had advantages over the other that could have made this fight go either way.

Junko: Right, Raiden was tough but he's never survived anything as big as Esdeath's ice continent feat. And Akame directly scales to her, making Akame much stronger and way more durable. She's also smarter in the art of assassination. 

Monika: Raiden's body being mostly metal also played a bit of a factor in this, as it would make him immune to the effects of Akame's sword. However, I do want to point out that this point alone doesn't entirely give Raiden the edge. Akame has faced beings with no heart before as well as beings immune to her blade. 

Junko: The real key that led to his victory was his Blade Mode, which increased his speed and made him way faster than Akame, albeit temporarily. 

Monika: This would provide an issue for Akame herself, whose normal means of getting rid of opponents like Raiden is blitzing them and cutting them up until there's not a trace left. The fact he could match her in speed gave him the edge. Funny enough though, this does not mean Akame couldn't pull out a victory of her own, but we look at who wins more times than not and 9 times out of 10, Raiden takes the win.

Junko: Sorry Akame, but Raiden's got his gears rollin' and was just too metal, preventing you from getting ga kill. 

Monika: The winner is Raiden.

Kokonoe's Trivia: Battle #185

- Connections: The connection between Raiden and Akame is that they are both wielders of extremely deadly katanas; Raiden wields the molecule destabilizing High-Frequency Blades whilst Akame uses the permanent wound leaving Kiriichimonji and poisonous Murasame. Both were trained from a young age to be incredibly deadly killers by sinister father figures; Solidus Snake and Gozuki, respectively. Both can also access super-modes based on wounding themselves or accessing certain trauma (Raiden's Ripper Mode is activated by pain due to psychological highs from killing as a child soldier whilst Akame either slays a close friend or cuts herself to access Little War Horn mode), have red eyes and have battled against evil counterparts (Jetstream Sam and Kurome, respectively) and corrupted organizations (Desperado and the Empire, respectively) which are supported by superpowered Social Darwinists (Senator Armstrong and Esdeath, respectively). Both also work under the leadership of eye-patch-wearing leaders (Solid Snake and Najenda, respectively) and work alongside animal-themed individuals (Blade Wolf and Leone, respectively).
