Kokonoe: Born in Coral Gables, Florida, Curtis "Curt" Connors moved to New York to work as a university teacher and as a Transgenics researcher at OsCorp. Having lost his right arm, and suffering the emotional trauma that came with it, Connors endeavored to find a "cure" and became obsessed with uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration.

Junko: It was around this time that Curt became pretty good friends with Ricard Parker before he mysteriously disappeared.

Ann: Then years later, Curt met Richard's son, Peter Parker.

Kokonoe: With Peter's help, Curt managed to develop a stable formula that infuses the patient with lizard DNA. Ignoring the possible side effects, Connors took a formula and grew back his lost arm. While it initially gave him great strength, Connors subsequently mutated into a giant lizard creature and consumed his reptilian instincts with a second personality forming as a consequence. From that day on, Curtis Conners was no more as he would become... The Lizard.

Junko: Now you may think this guy to be some weak, mindless, reptile right? Nope! This guy's incredibly strong!

Junko: He's just as strong, if not stronger than Spider-Man himself! He's fought Spider-Man on several occasions and has even knocked him out on several of those!

Kokonoe: Spider-Man himself can lift over 650 tons and has been shown to do incredible things like holding back an airplane with his webs or kicking Electro through 40 floors of a skyscraper.

Junko: And that's what makes Spider-Man spectacular! The Lizard himself can rip through steel, punch through concrete pillars, rip apart an alligator's jaw, and even throw a bulldozer at Warrant! He can fight even with Steron, a 20 to 25-pounder. But he's not just strong, he's fast too.

Kokonoe: Spider-Man claims that The Lizard is just as fast as him and The Lizard has proven just that by keeping up with him constantly. Spider-Man is fast enough to dodge lightning and they're both fast enough to dodge fireballs from the Human Torch. The Lizard has even blitzed Spider-Man on more than one occasion in the past.

Junko: Alright, but let's look at his durability.

Junko: You would think that this guy would be weak given his scrawny body, but he's extremely durable and bulletproof! Spider-Man's punches don't even phase him and shotgun shots just bounce off him!

Kokonoe: He's survived falling off a building while his throat was torn open and has even had buildings blow up while he was inside on two separate occasions.

Ann: Now as far as weapons go, he's not afraid to use anything in his environment to get the upper hand, but he prefers to use his claws in combat.

Ann: His claws are incredibly sharp and strong! He can use them to cut through metal, stone, wood, and flesh with ease! He can use them to climb walls and other surfaces, or cut Amora in the face!

Junko: For those of you who don't know, Amora is the Enchantress of Marvel who's tough enough to take high-caliber bullets without a scratch!

Ann: He also likes to use his tail.

Ann: The lizard's tail is strong and flexible. It can coil around Spider-Man, preventing him from breaking free. He can also use it to throw Spider-Man a mile away. He once used it to make a hole in the sidewalk and even cut through Spiderman's webbing, which is harder than steel.

Junko: He can also swing his tail faster than Spider-Man can dodge, despite Spider-Man's Spider-Sense.

Kokonoe: If anything, The Lizard is also surprisingly smart.

Kokonoe: It does make sense though. Curt is a highly intelligent and experienced doctor and was a prolific army surgeon. He created the formula that turned him into a lizard and he's very knowledgeable in genetics, physics, biochemistry, and herpetology. He also made an antidote that he would eventually become immune to.

Junko: Of course, this doesn't fully apply to the Lizard though since he and Curt have two different personalities. Curt is the scientific genius and The Lizard is the sadistic monster. Kinda like a jolly green giant we all know. But one day, their personalities did eventually merge as now The Lizard possesses some of Curt's intelligence as well. Not all of it, but enough to know all that sciency stuff and to make detailed strategies during combat.

Ann: Going back to his lizard body, the formula that turned him into a lizard did heal his arm as planned. He became highly resistant to poison and mind manipulation while also gaining a healing factor.

Kokonoe: While his healing factor is much faster than an actual lizard, it works pretty much the same and has helped him survive a lot of injuries.

Junko: He can have his limbs or tail get cut off and regrow them in seconds! He's been mauled by Vermin and was fine not that long after! And he's even heard from his neck getting snapped!

Kokonoe: He's even managed to heal himself after getting stabbed by a bunch of metal spikes.

Junko: Yeah, his healing factor is much better than your average lizard.

Ann: And to top it all off, he has telepathy!

Junko: He can control any type of reptile, be it alligators, snakes, lizards, and many more.

Kokonoe: This ability isn't limited to reptiles though. He can also use it on humans by manipulating the reptilian part of their brains, or their primal instincts. This made Spider-Man flee in terror as if he wanted, he could summon a horde of sexually aggressive violent savages f people to come and try and kill him. Hell, it's so effective it turned Dr.Octopus into a complete idiot.

Ann: But The Lizard is in no way some mindless criminal.

Ann: Sure, he does have a few weaknesses. His healing factor does have its limits despite how powerful it is. And cold temperatures can slow him down, but since he's still mostly human this is more of a mental thing and he can fight it off with enough determination.

Junko: He also tends to become more feral and berserk, losing reasoning and strategy.

Ann: But the Lizard is still less of a villain and more of a victim to himself. Eventually, he would finally return to his new lizard family and live a life of redemption...

Junko: But this is comics so you know he won't be gone for long. He'll be back and once he does, you better prey he's not back to chomp your head off.

Curt: I work in darkness. The Lizard wants out. It's time I stopped ignoring him.
