Kokonoe: Long ago at a time when Britain was facing a dark time, Merlin once foretold how the white dragon representing the Saxons and the red dragon representing Britain would battle each other, and then afterward Britain would be united by a great king who would defeat the Gauls and Romans. 

Junko: And so King Uther banged a chick with dragon blood and make Artoria Pendragon! And before you ask... yes... she is a chick.

Kokonoe: Well, gender really didn't matter.

Junko: To Uther it did. I mean, we are talking about a time when women were still being told to make sandwiches in the kitchen you know.

Ann: Does everything that comes out of your mouth have to be insulting?

Junko: Nah. Only when I want it to be.

Kokonoe: Still, we all know how the legend went. Artoria would be raised by a knight and trained all her life. She would also be mentored by Merlin on how to be a king. Eventually, she would walk to the sword in the stone. But before she could pull it out... Merlin warned her that once she does... the path ahead of her would be filled to bursting with sorrow, loss, and regret.

Junko: Yeah, she didn't care and pulled it out anyway.

Ann: Artoria would become king. She would be known as King Arthur and along with the Knights of the Round Table... bring peace to Britain.

Junko: Don't celebrate yet... it was only temporary. 

Kokonoe: Right. Artoria would become a selfless king that would eventually her responsibilities would get to her. This would be expressed greatly once she denies her son... daughter... Mordred her right to become the next king.

Junko: We're not gonna talk about how Mordred came to be are we?

Ann: Maybe another battle... but not this one...

Junko: Aw man... well, either way, Mordred didn't like her daddy's decision... so she declared war against her. At the end of the war, Artoria managed to kill her son. But ended up getting killed in the process and dying with regret. Luckily her heroic actions let her become a servant of the Holy Grail and be known as Saber!

Kokonoe: As a Servant, Saber needs a master. Her main one is Shirou Emiya, but he's never been able to give her enough power to go all out. Rin Tohsaka has managed to get her in full power but hasn't been her master for very long. So for this fight, Saber's master will be Ritsuka Fujimaru.

Kokonoe: Someone who just happened to see a recruitment flyer at a station, applied and got accepted into the job, and somehow ended up getting taken into the Chaldea Security Organization. She has enough magic power to have multiple servants at once.

Junko: Oh, and we are using the female version just because.

Ann: Anyway, as King Arthur Saber is immune to water attacks and can walk on water as well. And as a servant, she's incredibly strong!

Ann: She can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Berserker Lancelot, Rider Medusa, and other similarly powerful Servants. This includes Berserker Hercules who can destroy entire mountains. She should be stronger than weaker Servants like Shielder, who can fight Servants such as Saber Altera and others in the Grand Order.

Kokonoe:  Shielder, in particular, fought alongside Archer Billy the Kid, who was able to fight on even footing with Space Ishtar, who can fire massive galaxy-spanning attacks and attacks that are essentially firing entire universes at opponents.

Junko: She's also really durable, getting rag-dolled by an enraged Hercules, and even survived encounters and battles against the likes of Lancer Cu Chulainn and Archer Gilgamesh! She can fight against the likes of Saber Nero and Caster Tamamo no Mae, who in turn managed to tank hits from Karl's Noble Phantasm that can absorb all of the Moon Cell and even recreate it!

Ann: She's also really fast!

Ann: She can move way past the speed of sound with ease and dodge attacks from similarly swift opponents like Lancer Cu Chulainn and Archer Emiya! She's on par with Rider Iskandar, who once managed to avoid an Excalibur blast, which can move at the speed of light!

Kokonoe: She's comparable to most of the Servants who appear in Fate/Grand Order. Jeanne d'Arc Alter, in particular, managed to keep pace with Mysterious Heroine XX, who can fly from the Earth to outside the Milky Way in seconds.

Junko: And Mysterious Heroine XX is literally another version of Artoria!

Kokonoe: Saber is incredibly smart, having ruled Camelot when she was just 15 years old and drove off those who would threaten to destroy. She was trained under the great Caster Merlin on kingship, magic, and swordplay... even at a young age, she was considered to be a natural with a blade.

Ann: She has an incredibly keen mind that helps her predict and instinctively choose the correct path in a battle, basically akin to precognition. This helped her somewhat keep up with Assassin Kojiro.

Junko: And Kojiro is so insanely skilled that he can bend space and slice three times at the exact same instance and break reality with sheer skill! Essentially forcing reality to do three exact simultaneous attacks!

Kokonoe: Saber also has Servant Psychology.

Kokonoe: Servants are essentially copies and avatars of Heroic Spirits from the Throne of Heroes.  The Throne of Heroes is located within The Root, which exists completely outside of space-time. The Swirl of the Root exists outside and beyond everything completely, transcending all reason, logic, theories, and dimensions within the Nasuverse. It is the source of all things but is also the complete void of nothingness at the same time.

Junko: So when a Servant 'dies', their memories and experiences are recorded to the actual Heroic Spirit that exists within The Root. However, when a Servant is summoned again from the same Heroic Spirit, the newly summoned Servant is completely different.  Servants are also technically immortal... As seen in the Saber Wars II event, Servants cease aging once they have hit their physical peak.

Kokonoe: Servants are unaffected by a lack of oxygen and freely move in outer space as seen in Saber Wars and Ooku. Servants don't need food, only magical energy, and they don't starve to death, only dying when there isn't enough magical energy to keep their bodies intact. Servants also don't need sleep and can fight 24/7 as long as they are backed up by Mana.

Ann: They can  "sense" presences and also hone in on any magical signals and foreign energy. Not only that but they can resist the powerful poisons of Jack the Ripper and Serenity, and they can move freely in streets filled with gaseous sulfuric acid in the London Singularity of Fate/Grand Order.

Kokonoe: All Servants are also able to resist spatiotemporal distortions, such as when battling against dragons in Fate/Grand Order, who can collapse space-time with their mere breath and presence. They can also see, interact, harm, and even kill ghosts and souls. They are also shown to be able to affect the conceptually non-existent body of Kama, like how Yagyu Munenori was able to attack her, despite Kama being non-existent in nature and her body being the concept of nothingness.

Junko: Servants can resist Tiamat's Sea of Life to an extent; even weaker Demi-Servants like Shielder can. All those who enter her Sea of Life are subject to a geas on the cellular level that makes them her minions and enemies of humanity. This is also her Authority and it affects the souls, minds, and bodies on a conceptual level.

Ann: But enough about that, let's talk about her skills and abilities.

Ann: More specifically her Noble Phantasm. 

Kokonoe: A Noble Phantasm is a weapon or ability given to a Servent. It normally represents their heroic deed when they were still alive. Saber's is one of the strongest.

Junko: It's... say it with me now... EX... CALIBUR!!!

Ann: The strongest holy sword, and King Arthur's most famous and powerful Noble Phantasm! 

Kokonoe: It's a Divine Construct. More specifically, it's a "Last Phantasm," one of the ultimate weapons built by the gods... or, in this case, it's the crystallization of humanity's wishes forged by the planet itself.

Junko: Using it, Artoria charges an immense amount of holy energy and light into her blade, raising it above her head. She then swings her sword downwards, causing a torrent of light and pure magic energy to cleave through the earth and utterly vaporize opponents! It's strong enough to destroy the fragments of a planet-destroying meteor!

Kokonoe: But what's a sword without its sheath? Saber has more than one Noble Phantasm and that is the Bounded Field of the Wind King: Invisible Air.

Kokonoe: Excalibur's sheath, a mysterious wind that hides its true identity, preventing other Servants from identifying her. It's a Bounded Field, closer to regular magic than a Noble Phantasm, presumably created by Merlin. The powerful winds around the blade distort light, rendering Excalibur completely invisible and its shape near-impossible to discern, keeping her opponents confused and unable to properly gauge its size and length, or even what kind of weapon it is. Once they figure it out, however, it becomes useless in this regard.

Ann:  It takes on Excalibur's sharp edge, and Saber can use it to form a defensive wall of wind large enough to envelop a building. Once the barrier is released, the compressed wind surges around her and can be released as a single-shot weapon, known as Strike Air: Hammer of the Wind King. She can also use Invisible Air to propel herself forwards at greater speeds.

Junko: But even that's not as good as The Everdistant Utopia: Avalon

Junko: Excalibur's scabbard, a Divine Construct of the same name. Passively, Avalon bestows immortality and regeneration upon its wielder. They do not age and can regenerate the user's body.

Kokonoe: Its real power is in its active use as an "absolute defense." It shields Artoria in Avalon, the land of the fairies, the unreachable utopia that she strived to reach in life. It dissipates into magical particles and becomes a "portable fortress" that blocks off any interference, even up to the sixth dimension. It is on the level of true magic, and not even the Five Magics can bypass the barrier.

Junko: It essentially BFRs Artoria to Avalon, which is beyond even the scope of the Five Magics; but still way below The Root.

Ann: Saber has Passive Skills.

Ann: For example, her Magic Resistance... an innate ability that grants protection against magical effects. Unlike the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Due to possessing the blood of dragons, Saber has a stellar A-Rank in this ability, rendering her virtually invulnerable to all modern magi's spells and even of Caster's from the Age of Gods. This also applies to indirect magic attacks, such as magical hypnosis, petrification, and spatial manipulation.

Junko: She's also got her Rider Skill or the ability to ride mounts. Saber is proficient in this ability due to riding horses throughout her life, resulting in B rank Riding and allowing her to ride practically any horse or modern vehicle with complete control, even things from far beyond her time such as the heavily modified Yamaha V-Max Kiritsugu customized for her though due to having lived in the Age of Man, this does not extend to mounts such as those under the Phantasmal species.

Kokonoe: Then there are her Active Skills.

Kokonoe: Like her Charisma, or the natural talent to command an army, which increases the ability of allies during group battles. It is said that a rank of B in this skill is sufficient to lead a nation as its King. In Fate/Grand Order, it boosts the Attack Power of herself and her allies.

Ann: There's also her Mana Burst.  A skill that allows for an increase in performance by infusing one's weapons and body with magical energy, for both defensive and offensive purposes, effectively recreating the effects of a jet burst. Saber uses this skill mainly for her sword techniques, defense, and high-speed movement, propelling herself across the battlefield at high speeds while reinforcing her entire body with magical energy. With A-rank, even a stick can become a great weapon. Due to this and with her own innate high magical capacity, she can even fight off and take Berserker's blows.

Kokonoe: And finally, her Instinct.  The power to "feel" the most favorable developments for oneself during battle. Artoria has an A-Rank in this skill, granting her a refined sixth sense that is close to real precognition that had allowed her to avoid a death blow from Cu's Gae Bolg as well as Sasaki Koujirou's Tsubame Gaeshi and finding an opening in their second encounter, in addition to halving the hindrance that visual and auditory obstructions would generally provide.

Junko: But if she wants to get serious, she can always turn to Saber Alter!

Kokonoe: While Servants can naturally resist mind, body, and soul corruption, Saber Artoria can still be corrupted with a powerful enough curse such as the mud of All The World's Evil. In this 'altered' state, Saber Alter is more ruthless and merciless, preferring to instantly defeat her enemies with powerful attacks. She doesn't hold back her immense power, and fires out a corrupted version of her normal Noble Phantasm, Excalibur Morgan.

Junko Named after her sister, who is also the mother to her daughter... it's a long story.

Kokonoe: Compared to her non-altered self, this corrupted form of Saber Artoria has much higher power and durability, trading off with lower speed.

Junko: She even managed to get the arrogant douchebag prick, Gilgamesh, to bow down and apologize!

Saber Alter: I'm a cute gothic lolita maid waitress, sir!

Ann: Saber Alter is really strong!

Ann: Her attacks are strong enough to bypass Berserker Hercules' God Hand. She's even considered to be on par with Berserker Hercules as the strongest Servant physically in the Holy Grail War.

Kokonoe: She's also on par with the likes of Avenger Jeanne d'Arc Alter, who can burn away all of France and even the world.  She's overpowered Shielder Mash in a fight and even destroyed the fragments of the planet-busting meteor Bennu.

Junko: She's more durable too.

Junko: She's taken hits from Berserker Hercules with more ease than her regular self and even withstood her own Noble Phantasm being deflected back at her! She can also take hits against the powerful Avenger Hessian Lobo, who's essentially a giant monster wolf who can tear apart buildings.

Ann: But while she's slower than her regular self, she's still really fast!

Kokonoe: While slower than her normal self, still managed to blitz Berserker Hercules and was able to overpower and outpace Shielder Mash. She can even react to Avenger Hessian Lobo, who's fast and agile enough to dodge traps that are centimeters apart and has a reaction time of mere nanoseconds.

Junko: Yeah, but lets talk more about her Noble Phantasm, the Sword of Promised Victory: Excalibur Morgan!

Junko: The blackened form that Excalibur and is still the most powerful magic sword! When activated as a Noble Phantasm, the entire blade is covered in black flames, which are then released in a stream of energy to destroy everything in its path! She can freely fire this with no limitations!

Kokonoe:  It can also be utilized in the form of a melee attack known as Vortigern: Hammer of the Vile King, cutting the target to pieces with three upward swings while the blade is coated in dark mana.

Ann: But Artoria isn't without weakness.

Kokonoe: Like all servants, Artoria is dependent on mana. Also like with all other servants, if her master dies, she too will soon perish, unless she forms another contract with a Mage or is summoned as a Rogue Servant by a Holy Grail or the World itself.

Ann: She's stubborn and headstrong, bound by a code of honor. She also needs to worry about the fact that Avalon can't completely regenerate her brain when using its passive function. However, it's real function of sending her to Avalon should be able to regenerate any wound whatsoever, no matter how grievous.

Junko: Due to having Dragon Blood, Anti-Dragon weapons do double damage. She also doesn't have much Hax... just Hax resistances.

Ann: Yet she's still more than powerful enough to be considered one of the strongest Servants out there. She is the Child of Prophacy, the Once and Future King of Knights... Saber Artoria Pendragon.
