Kokonoe: It's funny how two similar paths can lead to different results. One can walk their way into a life filled with hope, while the other who takes the same path, struggles with despair.

Ann: Like Izuku Midoriya, or Deku from My Hero Acedemia.

Junko: And Izuru Kamakura, the Ultimate Despair of Danganronpa.

Kokonoe: The stage is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

It's already been two whole years since The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History, and Musutafu City was under attack by the Remnants of Despair. Atop a large building, staring down at the destruction below was Izuru Kamakura.

Izuru: How boring...

He watched as heroes from UA including class 1A all tried to fight back against them.

Izuru: Talentless insects trying to make a name for themselves. What a pointless endeavor. All they will do is be squashed by those with true talent... wouldn't you agree?

As he said this, he turned his head behind him to see Izuku Midoriya stepping up to face him.

Deku: Who are you? Why are you attacking this place?

Izuru: Boring words from a commoner. Leave now... you can't win this fight.

Deku: I'm sorry, but I can't do that! You're attacking my city, so I need to stop you!

Izuru: I see... then you will drown in despair.

Deku channeled 5% of One for All and dashed at him, going for a heavy punch and Izuru caught it with one hand.

Deku: What?

Izuru: Did you think you can take me when you hold back so much power? 

He pulled Deku in and punched him in the gut. Before Deku could be sent flying, Izuru grabbed him by the foot and threw him downward. As Izuru turned his back to the falling Deku, the young hero quickly jumped off the wall of a nearby building and flew straight toward Izuru, going for a kick. Without turning around, Izuru moved to the side and dodged his attack as Deku was sent flying into the sky, but quickly sent three tendrils at the Remnant of Despair. Izuru lifted his arm as the tendrils latched onto him.

Izuru: How dull.

He pulled it and slammed Deku down behind him. He then walked towards him. He got down to one knee, grabbing him by the neck.

Izuru: How pathetically weak you are.

He looked down to see Deku grip his fist.

Deku: Detroit... Smash!

Deku hit Izuru with an uppercut then spun and hit Izuru with a kick that sent him flying through a building and crashing to the ground. Izuru stood up from the crater and brushed himself off.

Izuru: Interesting.

He looked up as Deku had sent the building falling on top of him. Deku then looked down to check the carnage.

Deku: Did I get him?

As soon as he said that, Izuru crashed out a window of the fallen building and jumped up at him. Deku flew down and went for a kick using 8% of One for All.

Deku: St.Louis Smash!

He went for another heavy kick, but Izuru dodged it before grabbing him by the foot and slamming him down into the streets of the city hard enough to cause a crater. Izuru landed as smoke started to form around him.

Izuru: Smoke? It must be his way to camouflage himself... what a pitiful distraction.

As he said that, Deku appeared behind him and went to kick him from behind but Izuru vanished within the smoke.

Deku: What?

Deku heard the voices of the previous users.

Nana: "He's a tough one. It's best to watch your back"

Deku: "Right."

Deku turned around quickly only for Izuru to hit him with an electric uppercut to the gut. He then went for a flaming punch that sent him flying and crashing into a truck behind him. Deku quickly recovered and aimed his fingers, using 20% of One for All.

Deku: Delaware Air Force Smash!

He flicked his finger, unleashing a giant burst of wind that Izuru dodged quickly. 

Izuru: (He got faster.)

Deku flew at him, jumping from building to building at top speeds before jumping around Izuru. He went for a kick from behind but Izuru dodged it as Deku landed on a car and jumped onto the door of a building and went to kick him from the side. Izuru went to block it but he was stronger than he expected as he was pushed back.

Izuru: Interesting. 

Deku kept jumping around him and went for a kick that Izuru blocked as he was sent back. Deku dashed at him again and went for a second kick that Izuru attempted to stop. Deku then got to the ground before hitting Izuru with an uppercut. He then punched Izuru in the chest and sent him straight through a small building. Izuru quickly recovered and took out three pairs of scissors before throwing them into the air. Meanwhile, Deku ran past the building and towards Izuru before punching him in the face. He ran at him again and punched him a second time. He then jumped into the air.

Deku: Manchester Smash!

He went for a downward kick and Izuru looked up at him before sighing. He was starting to get bored again as he dodged it, causing Deku to hit the floor and destroy everything around them. From Izuru's perspective, though, this was all happening in slow motion as he aimed his fingers at Deku.

Izuru: What did you call this again? That's right... Delaware Smash.

He flicked his finger, creating a heavy burst of wind that sent Deku flying back. Deku sent tendrils to attach to two buildings so that he could catch himself. He then went to face him again.

Izuru: That power... it's not yours, is it? It was given to you by someone else, but your body isn't ready to handle it at full power.

Deku: Huh? How did you?

Izuru: Simple... because I am the perfect human. While I may not be able to use your extra abilities, there is nothing your physical body can do that I am not capable of. The only difference is... I can do it better.

He flicked his finger a few more times, unleashing more air projectiles that Deku quickly went to block. He was struggling as the projectiles kept coming.

Deku: "He's adapting to One for All! And he's even learning all of my techniques! But I can't give up yet! He can't adapt to my other abilities and probably doesn't know what most of them are!"

He shot a tendril at a nearby building and started swinging around, dodging the projectiles as he swung at Izuru. He channeled 30% of One for All before hitting Izuru with a dropkick and sending him flying. Izuru slid to his feet as Deku swung at him and aimed his fingers, firing another wind projectile. Izuru did the same as the two projectiles clashed and caused a burst of wind to explode between them. As it did, Deku managed to get behind Izuru quickly.

Izuru: Tch!

Deku: Faux 100%...

As soon as Izuru turned around, Deku dashed at him and channeled 45% of One for All's power.

Deku: Manchester Smash!

He kicked him square in the face with enough force to send him flying upward. Deku then jumped up above him and went for a downward kick that sent Izuru crashing into the streets hard enough to cause a crater. Izuru quickly jumped out of the hole in the ground only for Deku to jump at him and punch him in the gut, sending Izuru flying as Deku dashed at him again. He went for another punch, but this time Izuru blocked it and slid on his feet. Deku then aimed his fingers again.

Deku: Delaware Air Force Smash!

He sent an even stronger projectile at him and Izuru blocked it before being sent back again. As he did, Deku flew back at him.

Deku: St. Louis Air Force Smash!

He went for a heavy kick that caused a massive shockwave, but Izuru quickly blocked it. He grabbed Deku's lower body, lifted him up, and slammed him to the ground. Deku coughed a bit as he could feel a few bones break from that. He started breathing heavily and Izuru looked at him with nothing but disappointment. He went to walk away, but Deku suddenly grabbed him by the leg. Izuru looked back down at him.

Izuru: What are you doing? This fight is over... you lost.

Deku: No... not yet...

Izuru stomped on his head but Deku was still trying to get up, so Izuru kicked him and sent him straight into a car. Deku began to stagger up to his feet.

Izuru: This fight is pointless. 

Deku: No... it's not! You hurt millions... and don't even bat an eye... just because you're bored. If I don't stop you here... how can I ever call myself a hero?!

He charged up as he used 100% of One for All. The power was immense as it even surprised Izuru for a breath second.

Izuru: Hmph. Enough of this idiotic banter.

Deku ran at him and went for a punch.

Deku: 100%... Detroit... Smash!

The strike took Izuru off guard as he was sent flying through several buildings before quickly recovering. Deku jumped above him.

Deku: Wyoming Smash!

He hit Izuru with a downward spike to the head. The ground cracked under them as Izuru grit his teeth and stood his ground. He punched Izuru in the guts, breaking his ribs before grabbing him by the arm and slamming him to the ground. He went for a downward punch but Deku jumped up to dodge it, causing Izuru to punch the ground instead. Deku landed on his feet and Izuru went to face him.

Izuru: Impressive. You're finally using 100% of your power. But tell me... how long can you keep it up?!

Deku dashed at him as Izuru went for a punch.

Deku: Texas Smash!

Deku went for a punch as well and the two of them clashed, knocking back everything around them. Even the weather changed as the clouds above grew dark. Deku went for another punch and knocked him through several buildings. Izuru slid on his feet as the two ran across the city, clashing fists as they did and causing massive shockwaves. Deku eventually jumped back as Izuru went for a kick. Deku quickly dodged it and went for a kick of his own that knocked Izuru into a car.

Izuru: You're far too weak...

He jumped behind the car, lifted it up, and punched it towards Deku.

Deku: Give up...

Deku jumped over the car and connected a tendril to it.

Deku: Trying to make me give up!

He threw the car back and Izuru swatted it away as Deku dashed at him.

Deku: United States of World...SMASH!!!

He went for a huge kick to the gut. Izuru coughed up blood as his eyes rolled to the back of his head. He was sent flying into a nearby tower as all the glass from said building shattered. Deku fell to one knee exhausted.

Deku: Did I... get him?

His danger senses suddenly kicked in as he looked into the sky, only to see thousands of scissor blades raining down.

Deku: What? Don't tell me... he planned this far ahead? Geh... no... I can't give up yet... I must... go beyond!

He started punching the air, creating massive air projectiles as he knocked the scissor blades away at lightning speeds. He continued sending the projectiles up as his suit started to crumble.

Deku: Plus Ultra!!!

He unleashed one final air projectile that knocked the scissors back and cleared the skies. Deku painted as his arms were broken and he was still stabbed in his less and the side of his stomach.

Meanwhile, Izuru was still in the building he was knocked into. Thanks to his luck, the building shielded him from being stabbed by the scissors. He whipped the blood off his mouth as he looked down at the injured Deku.

Izuru: You've come far. I'm almost surprised. You even managed to injure me a little bit... but sadly, all good things must come to an end. 

Deku: Then I'll end it... before it even began!

He flew straight up at Izuru, charging up a punch.

Izuru: A foolish dream.

Izuru raised his hand and summoned a giant spirit ball made of nothing but scissors. He launched it down at Deku.

Deku: 1,000,000%... Deleware Detroit... SMASH!!!!

He punched the scissors and sent them flying everywhere. One of them even flew and cut Izuru's cheek. Izuru was surprised by this, but was even more surprised when Deku flew at him and hit him in the face, knocking a tooth out. Izuru quickly grabbed Deku by the neck and slammed him into the roof behind him. He stomped on his chest, grabbed his arms, and ripped them off.

Deku: GAAAH!!!

Izuru: You're just like everyone else...

He grabbed him by the face and lifted him up.

Izuru: Nothing more than a talentless insect trying to make a name for himself.

He squeezed Deku's head, cracking his skull and causing it to explode. As he was covered in blood, Izuru dropped Deku's body off the building and looked up. The Remnants of Despair had destroyed the city.

Izuru: How boring.

Junko: Kamakura! Kamakura! Yas Queen!

Ann: Okay, can someone explain what just happened?

Kokonoe: Well, it wasn't exactly anything hard to grasp. We should note that while Izuru is older than Deku, they both had their respective powers for at least three years giving them respectively equal experience. Deku had the better training of course and held an advantage in using additional powers that Izuru couldn't copy like Blackwhip and Smokescreen.

Junko: But that's about where the advantages tilt the other way. Deku is incredibly smart, but Izuru is smarter than the greatest minds in the world, including me. In other words, he's much smarter than Deku. And much faster too.

Kokonoe: Deku did have the advantage in strength, at least when he goes 100%. The issue with that is Deku can't go all out for too long or his body will become broken.

Ann: Plus, the strength difference isn't too wide assuming Izuru took down all those ships in one go. And even then, he can adapt similarly to Junko and Akane so he should e able to close the gap before Deku can land the finishing blow. 

Kokonoe: It didn't help that Deku had no real counter to Izuru's ultimate luck, which can easily help Izuru in many ways. Don't get me wrong, Deku could easily take on almost anyone in the Danganverse without too much difficulty, but Izuru was just in a whole other league of power.

Junko: In the end, Deku wasn't perfect and the Ultimate Hero lost to the Ultimate Danganvillian.

Kokonoe: The winner is Izuru Kamakura.
