Kokonoe: Born as the only male child of the Gerudo tribe, an all-female race situated in the desert, Ganondorf had long coveted the land of the more prosperous neighboring kingdom of Hyrule during his childhood. After growing to be an adult and being given leadership over the Gerudo, he decided to use his newfound power to attempt to take over the kingdom of Hyrule by force, as well as seize an all-powerful wish granted meguffin known as the Triforce that was hidden within it.

Junko: Too bad a green elf-looking guy named Link is always there to spoil his plans. But even Link has some trouble taking him down, I mean the guy is incredibly strong!

Kokonoe: He can easily destroy stone pillars and has taken down opponents 20x his size. He's stopped the planet's rotation and caused Endless Nights. Hell, even when suppressed by Zelda, he managed to alter the rotation of the moon.

Junko: He's far superior to Onox, who created a massive storm. And is even superior to Vati, who created a dimension full of stars!

Ann: He's capable of jumping twenty feet into the air, can flip three times his own height, dodge point-blank light arrows, and even keep up with Link, who could move faster than light as a child!

Junko: Even Zelda was only able to temporarily hold him back! The guy laughs off bombs, arrows, and several forms of magic! He's had castles fall on him constantly and just shrugged it off, tanked hits from the Master Sword, took a direct fireball from a dragon deity, and survived being shot by several Light Arrows and being stabbed right through the skull with the Master Sword! Oh and one time after being stabbed in the heart with a Divine blade, which he's weak to by the way, he simply broke out his chains and killed his would-be executioners with his bare hands! Then he took the sword out of him and kept it as his own!

Ann: This is the Sword of Sages.

Ann: Ganondorf's primary weapon. Normally it's meant to be welded with two hands, but Ganondorf is strong and skilled enough to swing it with one. Due to its holy properties, it may be extra effective against beings of darkness or pure evil.

Junko: That's not the only blade at his disposal though. He's also got the Swords of Demise!

Junko: Two dual broadswords that are the size of Ganondorf's own body! With their size, weight, length, and the Darkness attribute that comes with them, he can deal a ton of damage with these babies! He can concentrate a mass of dark energy at the tips of one of the blades and then smash the blade down on the ground to cause an explosion that can take out nearby enemies or even use the swords to create a multitude of hovering dark sword beams, which can then be propelled outward towards his opponents as a projectile attack!

Ann: But due to their weight, Ganondorf is much less mobile with them compared to his other blade. Luckily he's also got his Duel Katanas!

Ann: While these blades lack any elemental attribute, their smaller size and weight allow for them to be swung easier and maneuvered quicker for blocking actions than the rest of Ganondorf's blades. The shorter length also allows Ganondorf to maneuver them behind his back allowing him to block attacks from behind. Because of this, these weapons are more ideal for defense than offense.

Kokonoe: And while not generally a standard part of Ganondorf's arsenal, Ganondorf is capable of using, and did use on several occasions, several of Link's classic weapons in Hyrule Warriors. These weapons include bombs, arrows, boomerangs, a hammer, and the Hookshot. He can also gain access to powered-up versions of these weapons in Hyrule Warriors on the field, though they only remained in a powered-up state for a short period.

Ann: And we can't forget about his armor.

Kokonoe: The amount of armor Ganondorf wears varies from incarnation to incarnation, but most commonly he'll be seen wearing a full body set of some kind of metallic armor, along with a pair of gauntlets and grieves. Given his heritage, it is fairly likely that this armor was created for him by the Gerudo tribe.

Junko: And his cape is no ordinary one either as it's capable of reflecting projectiles right back at his opponents!

Kokonoe: But his greatest weapon is the Triforce of Power.

Kokonoe: One of the 3 pieces of the triforce, a divine sacred relic that was left behind by the Zelda goddess Nayru, Din, and Farore after they created the Zelda universe. On its own, the triforce of power grants its user a myriad of mystical enhancements including increased physical strength, magical prowess, eternal life, and near invulnerability.

Junko: He already has control over elemental magic! He can freeze the ocean, create massive earthquakes, make huge thunderstorms, unleash bursts of lightning from his hands, fuse his swords with electricity, shoot massive fireballs, and even unleash light projectiles! That's right, this Prince of Darkness has some light to shoot out!

Ann: He also has access to Twilight Magic, letting him create weapons out of thin air, shapeshift, fly, nullify the powers of others, create forcefields, warp reality, and revert any entity within a specific area into a bodiless soul without them even realizing it.

Kokonoe: But his favorite magic to use is Dark Magic.

Junko: Let's see... he can make waves of darkness to push people back, create balls of darkness that blow up on contact, and even enhance his attacks with darkness. He's even taken a page out of Captain Falcon's own Falcon Punch with the Warlock Punch, giving his foe a fist full of darkness!

Ann: Not only that, but his dark magic even lets him control his own shadow!

Junko: If he doesn't wish to do much fighting himself, he can have his shadow take whatever form he wants and fight for him. He prefers to have it be the form of his Ganon transformation, but he can have it take the form even of his opponent. It's not as strong or as durable but can use all the same magic as him.

Kokonoe: He can teleport, create magical portals, control the minds of others, seal his foe into large crystals, or even possess you, though he can be knocked out of his possessed body.

Junko: And before you ask, yes... he can summon his own minions.

Ann: Then there's his Focus Spirit.

Kokonoe: A super mode that various characters can enter in Hyrule Warriors. The mode only lasts temporarily, but it results in a giant boost in speed, attack, and defense power. Ganondorf can also use a few special attacks not available in his normal move set while in this state and gains a dark aura while it's active.

Junko: But if he really wants to fuck some shit up, he can activate the full power o the Triforce and become... Ganon!

Junko: While this form has many different appearances, it often takes the form of a giant pig, so now Ganon fits in with the rest of the combatants. He can do everything he's capable of in his base form and so much more as his power grows even further.

Ann: He can turn invisible, breathe fire, change the size of his body at will, and even summon Phantom Ganon.

Kokonoe: A phantom that mostly attacks with its sword. It can also fire energy balls and create clones of itself. It's unaffected by physical attacks until said energy balls are reflected right back at it.

Ann: Ganon also has a bunch of weapons at his disposal, like the Dark Trident of Power!

Ann: A magic trident that Ganodrorf stole from an ancient pyramid built by the desert-dwelling Zuna.

Kokonoe: The trident is said to be filled with the spirit of an ancient evil and grants its owner vast magical power, as well as the ability to send opponents to the dark world with a lighting-like blast of energy. Besides being swung as a melee weapon, it can be thrown around a battlefield like a boomerang and will leave behind a trail of blue fire over any area it travels. It can also send up to 5 giant green balls of magic energy toward an opponent as a projectile attack.

Junko: He also has a multitude of weaker tridents he can conjure out of thin air. He can move these tridents around with telekinesis however he wants as well. And along with that, he has a magic staff that can trap you in an invincible bubble and spike bombs that cause a nice explosion.

Ann: And he has two giant duel swords.

Ann: These big boys allow for a more traditional fighting style as Ganon than the dark trident, but don't have any of its more beneficial abilities and skills. Still, they're extremely powerful and can easily cut through giant pillars! But they're not quite as powerful as his giant gauntlets.

Ann: One gauntlet allows him to charge a ball of fire energy in his hands that he can shoot toward an opponent as a projectile attack! The second allows him to create a spear of blue magic energy that expands to make a small explosion when it impacts a solid object!

Junko: Though both Gauntlets can be destroyed with enough physical damage. And that's when we get to his weaknesses.

Junko: Ganondorf is extremely arrogant, to the point of seeing himself as a god. And because of this arrogance, much like Doctor Doom, Bowser, Shredder, Ridley, or other big bads, Ganondorf more often than not finds himself being defeated by weaker heroes.

Ann: Which sucks because Ganondorf is surprisingly more powerful than I originally expected despite the fact that he relies more on strength than speed. Though he does have a weakness to holy weapons and can be killed with enough physical force.

Kokonoe: But even if he is killed, he will always come back. And when he does, he will make sure you fear the name... Ganondorf.

Ganondorf: My only mistake was to slightly underestimate the power of this kid... No... it was not the kid's power I misjudged, it was the power of the Triforce of Courage! But, with the Triforce of Wisdom that Zelda has... When I obtain these two Triforces... Then, I will become the true ruler of the world!!
